"Went for lunch and found that the food and service was of high quality. They catered for my wife who has an egg allergy and even discounted her food which is unheard of, in these times. The staff were very friendly and professional and although the Sunday menu is limited (understandable due to the pandemic), the food was great and good value for money. They also had a live musician who was brilliant. We will book again and try the more varied menu in the near future. Also the location is a few minutes from Regents park and ideal for a lovely stroll afterwards. finally, thank you to the staff and management for making it a lovely experience at THE NEW INN."

"the first time I dimmed here, and I enjoyed it very much. I took my mother to lunch when we often did, but never thought to go in. we had a warm reception at the one and inwss impressed by the decor and cleanliness, much more 'chic' than their normal pub. it was a busy lunch, we were not in a hurry, so the time between starter and main was perfect. our appetizers were beautiful, grilled cocktail and pate and caramelized onion chutney. I recommend the tempoura fish and chips, tasty, non-greasy or so. beautiful chips, draughts and tartar sauce. my mother had steak and chips that they also enjoyed. our waitress was very warm and friendly. some updates pictures of a lunch in December 2021 a beautiful place, with perfect service and delicious food. the service is not included, and the machine did not allow to add, so if you want to type, they must have cash on them."

"After so many years away, we decided to revisit this gorgeous place for my mum's birthday. I will say this is a delayed post, as they had the Christmas menu on. The food was great, however the service really lacked at first. A lot of the staff were very young and unattentive and sat us alone upstairs, so we did have to keep asking every so often where the food and drinks were. I will say that did change as the evening went on, and we ended up having a great waitress! Around £40pp Overall a great place to eat no doubt, but the service has really changed from super great to average in my eyes. Not a place I would rush back to."

"I'm not sure what this place wants to be. It was playing club music but in the surrounding of a fine dine establishment. To be fair the steak was really nice but felt the other dishes lacked imagination they were all quite similar. Finally I just felt it was all over priced for what was on offer."

"The food here was lovely. Everything was cooked to perfection and was very tasty. The dessert I had was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Our waiter was exceptionally nice and friendly, which is often uncommon in London (in comparison with the north of the country), he made jokes, gave us advice and enquired about why we were in London. And the atmosphere was great too. This was my second time here and I would definitely return."

"My daughter and I went to San Carlo on New Years day my daughter had booked a table for 3.30pm it was very busy when we got there .We were asked if we had booked and we said yes there were three people in front of us who had not booked and were given a table .My daughter and I were sent downstairs and had to wait 20 minutes then we were seated downstairs .The attitude of the staff there was not good the only person that seemed to bother was the lady taking the money.Will be a long time before I go there again I was appalled at the service."

"Excellent meal with great service. Catered very well for a member of our party with specific dietary requirements and altered a dish to suit a vegetarian. Nothing felt like it was too much trouble It wasn’t full at all and unlike in some places we weren’t all squashed together in one small area, but nicely spaced out. There were several birthday parties happening but the extra space between parties meant it didn’t feel too noisy or crowded. Will definately come back"

"Off night?. Visited San Carlo on a Sunday evening based on a recommendation from a well travelled friend. Lets start with the positives. Wine list was excellent and the shared starter of mixed cured meat was attractive, tasty and high quality. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The risotto I had was re-heated and served in a cream laden sauce to compensate for the lack of basic technique. My partners pasta arrived with a completely different sauce to the one described in the menu (creamy, with Parmesan added despite her requesting no cheese versus the tomato). "Took my mrs and 2 kids here for a sunday lunch, admittedly this is a curry place but they do say they did a Sunday Lunch on the menu so thought why not. Staff friendly, no issues here. However, the music was weirdly r ..b after r b no issues with r b but its Sunday afternoon and its a restaurant?? and it was properly loud to the point i was having to raise my voice for my family to hear me (and I love music). They also played a song with all sorts of swearing and sexual references, really not what we want with 5 and 3 year old? Thankfully about half way through they must have noticed as it got turned off. Just struck me as though it was an employee playing a list of all their favourite songs and stuff the customers? The most disappointing thing however was the food. We ordered a lamb dinner. I am not being funny, I am not entirely sure we got lamb, it really didn't taste like any lamb I have ever had. Chewy, fully of fat, quite frankly, disgusting. I left half my plate. They gave us a mini jug each of gravy which was about enough to put on a saucer of food let alone a plate. We then got charged £45 which was not near what the menu prices stated (they state £6.99 for a lamb dinner), by this time we just wanted to get out so paid and will not be returning."

"The restaurant was closed despite having made a reservation through OpenTable, which was confirmed. We arrived only to find the doors locked, so we had to call them. When I first spoke to the man who answered, he didn't even realize they were closed. The place seemed entirely abandoned, so we decided to go elsewhere. I understand that they may have had their reasons for being closed, but they really need to cancel reservations or at least inform their customers!"

"We went to the Orange Tree for a family lunch and with high expectations which were well met! My granddaughter at nearly 8 appreciated being given her own menu and treated beautifully and with just a hint of fun we asked for a mixed up sort of order all of which was delivered and I can only say perfect. "We visited Heritage on Wednesday to try their Christmas menu, I checked it before on their website and really liked the festive dishes they put. When we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely hostess, I think her name was Simona, she was so welcoming and attentive, and to me this attitude is always a huge bonus. The Christmas menu itself was a wonderful experience, we couldn't be more satisfied! Such a nice mix of authentic Alpine dishes with more familiar to us dishes of European cuisines. Taste-wise, our food was fantastic, from foie gras to bbq grill and then to a beautifully shaped quince strudel... Just marvellous! We will be definitely back again in the new year, looking forward to our next visit!"

"At the upstairs restaurant was completely empty except for us. No one else arrived until we were finishing our meal, and that, too, was just one table. I ordered the artichoke appetizer, which turned out to actually just be poorlymarinated artichoke and iceberg lettuce, and the halibut, which was acceptable, and some reasonably edible grilled vegetables. My husband ordered a pasta dish, and observed that it was similar to army dinners, and commented that he’d’ve been better off with a box of spaghetti and jar of sauce from the grocery store. Also, the appetizer was brought out at the same time as the main courses, crowding the small table, which was already crowded with assorted superfluous drinking glasses. The wrong wine was brought... like, very wrong. Merlot instead of a white Burgundy. I’m not sure that our server could have handled more than one table at a time, but that’s ok because, apparently, that’s all they book. The space itself is pretty. Everyone is polite.We won’t be back"
