"Our first meal after being husband and wife. The ambience and service was fantastic. We did order some water which was forgotten about but when asked again it came quickly. The quality of the food was superb with so many different flavours. I would highly recommend the chilli prawns to start and seabass for the main."

"Heard so many good reviews about Quays gastro bar in portrush so called in on a Friday around 7.00pm. It was quite busy with holiday families however we had a short wait in the beer garden which was very pleasant and had a beer during our wait for restaurant. The restaurant itself was in contrast to the beer garden was very dark in fact the walls were painted black and ambiance not great for a dining experience (we would have been happy sitting in the enclosed section of the beer garden) The meal itself was fair to poor, my rump steak texture was not like it should be I had the feeling it was put through some sort of tenderising process and not great like a good steak freshly cooked should be, garlic fries were just ok. My wife chicken strips coated in breadcrumbs the coating so salty she could not eat them, I am more salt tolerant but they were so salty I could not eat them either. We are not people who complain and the staff were very pleasant and I did leave a tip. So Quays I have to say huge disappointment and will not return."

"Went for lunch and found that the food and service was of high quality. They catered for my wife who has an egg allergy and even discounted her food which is unheard of, in these times. The staff were very friendly and professional and although the Sunday menu is limited (understandable due to the pandemic), the food was great and good value for money. They also had a live musician who was brilliant. We will book again and try the more varied menu in the near future. Also the location is a few minutes from Regents park and ideal for a lovely stroll afterwards. finally, thank you to the staff and management for making it a lovely experience at THE NEW INN."

"Me and my husband took our 2 children down The Bull for lunch a few Saturdays ago. Excellent for the kids as have play area, children's booths and had a bouncy castle that particular weekend. Love how accommodating they are for children.... slush puppies, popcorn, mocktails, icecream, fab kids menu etc. We had a nice bit of food too, love the summer grill menu. Place was well maintained and clean. Staff were very friendly. Bit of a wait at the outdoor bar but what do you expect on a Saturday when the weather is lovely! Will be returning soon, thank you for a great afternoon!!!"

"I recently had dinner at this restaurant and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The price per person ranged from £20 to £30, which I found to be quite reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. Speaking of which, both the food and service were top-notch – I would give them a solid 5 out of 5. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also excellent, creating a pleasant and enjoyable dining environment. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal and great dining experience."

"Super steak and so it should be at the price. Felt let down by service. Only stayed an hour and a half, felt rushed and a nuisance at times. Drinks took ages but plenty of staff downstairs. Spent £133 would have stayed longer and spent more if felt welcome. No reserve signs on tables which were mostly unoccupied and as had booked well in advance surprised to be given prob the worst table. First visit, not sure if we would return, don't mind paying £30+ for a steak but want whole customer service experience as well."

"Food was nice but overpriced for what it was. Not much service. Had to keep getting waiters attention for them to clear plates etc then when I asked to give a tip based on my experience rather than an added overpriced service charge I was told I could only pay the full service charge or nothing. When I said I wouldn’t pay one the manager was quick to come over and say I could pay a tip of my choice."

"Late review. Unfortunately the reviews regarding the rude manager are correct. Came In with a friend for a quick drink and was shouted at by this lady as we came in from the wrong way and then to be told they’re not accepting customers as they were closing that’s absolutely fine however there were tables filled with people in and outside. This was my first time at this place. I decided to leave straight away it was such a rude encounter that as I was walking outside with my friend, another colleague came running out to apologise for the managers behaviour. I hate to bring race into this but this was the only thing that differed from myself/my mate and everyone else in this pub. Having said that, after reading others reviews, it seems like the manager just doesn’t have the basic skills and etiquette to provide a reasonably decent customer service. How on earth you’ve managed to get a job in management is beyond me. Advice to manager doctors are here to help. Support is available, just try not to shout when requesting your chill pills."

"I'm not sure what this place wants to be. It was playing club music but in the surrounding of a fine dine establishment. To be fair the steak was really nice but felt the other dishes lacked imagination they were all quite similar. Finally I just felt it was all over priced for what was on offer."

"This was the same night that we transferred over to the San Carlo restaurant after a bad experience at the sister restaurant next door at Fumo (see other review) We were greeted professionally and taken to a table, sat next to the kitchen. Unfortunately, this restaurant had the same view as Fumo of quantity versus customer experience. All the tables were so tightly positioned that even the staff couldn’t walk between them to serve the customers. The waiter who took our drinks order, was very friendly and provided good advice on wines . The waitress who took our food order was very friendly accommodating. We started the meal with calamari and bruschetta. Both were delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses ruined our entire experience. My husband ordered the surf and turf style lobster and steak combo what a treat for our special occasion. What a shame more like! The steak was overcooked for his request of medium and the lobster was cold. When we advised the waitress, she came and took the lobster off his plate, leaving him with the steak. Five minutes later, returned with the same piece of lobster that had she told us had “been put under the grill for five minutes” to heat it up. This meant that the lobster was completely dried out and inedible. I ordered the gnocchi with beef Ragu. Because the plates had not been warmed, my dish was cold around the outside and a warm in the middle. It also only contained 10 pieces of gnocchi, and that is it. We were asked if we wanted anything else to eat, but we declined as we had theatre tickets and were aware that all the staff were now talking about us. When presented with the bill, both of the dishes were on there, but they had taken off the service charge . I had advised that we should not be paying for the lobster and steak or the gnocchi, as neither dish had met expectation or was edible. The female supervisor got very defensive with me and basically told me, that I would be paying for it at which point, I asked to speak to the General Manager. He was more understanding and removed the 2 dishes from the bill. Unfortunately, we had a gift voucher so now we have a credit to reuse at another one of their chain restaurants. After trying 2 in one night , we are reluctant to try another one again."

"We had a table reservation but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed without any prior notice and there was no sign on the door. We had made the reservation 2 weeks in advance only to find out that they had closed the day after we booked. It was disappointing that they took our reservation knowing they were going to close. "My family and I visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration on a Sunday evening. The new decor is amazing, but the table lamps seemed cheap and didn't provide enough light, making the restaurant quite dark. Our main waitress was great and the food we ordered was excellent. However, we had difficulty getting drinks throughout our meal and had to ask multiple different waiters before receiving any. Although we have always enjoyed San Carlos restaurants in the past and have been impressed by the food and staff, we felt that the staff in the Liverpool location were not as engaged with their jobs or customers. It seemed like they were just going through the motions."

"The dining experience was excellent, and the wine was served at the perfect temperature. The ambiance was warm and pleasant, and the personal attention we received was commendable. However, it was a bit disappointing that there were no linen tablecloths, as they would have added a touch of elegance to the room and tables. My only other issue was having to wait 25 minutes for drinks in the lounge. Otherwise, the food was fantastic, and the wine selection was excellent."

"Took my mrs and 2 kids here for a sunday lunch, admittedly this is a curry place but they do say they did a Sunday Lunch on the menu so thought why not. Staff friendly, no issues here. However, the music was weirdly r ..b after r b no issues with r b but its Sunday afternoon and its a restaurant?? and it was properly loud to the point i was having to raise my voice for my family to hear me (and I love music). They also played a song with all sorts of swearing and sexual references, really not what we want with 5 and 3 year old? Thankfully about half way through they must have noticed as it got turned off. Just struck me as though it was an employee playing a list of all their favourite songs and stuff the customers? The most disappointing thing however was the food. We ordered a lamb dinner. I am not being funny, I am not entirely sure we got lamb, it really didn't taste like any lamb I have ever had. Chewy, fully of fat, quite frankly, disgusting. I left half my plate. They gave us a mini jug each of gravy which was about enough to put on a saucer of food let alone a plate. We then got charged £45 which was not near what the menu prices stated (they state £6.99 for a lamb dinner), by this time we just wanted to get out so paid and will not be returning."

My wife had the filet steak and the taste was one if the best we have had in the Uk. I had the ribs and chicken which is another large dish which beat me after the soup, thanks goodness for a doggy bag"

"The restaurant was closed despite having made a reservation through OpenTable, which was confirmed. We arrived only to find the doors locked, so we had to call them. When I first spoke to the man who answered, he didn't even realize they were closed. The place seemed entirely abandoned, so we decided to go elsewhere. I understand that they may have had their reasons for being closed, but they really need to cancel reservations or at least inform their customers!"
