"Visited The Orange Tree on a Sunday afternoon, was busy as we arrived but as the tables are spaced, never felt noisey. Received a warm welcome from all the three staff, they were professional and relaxed, there was no rush for our meal, nice atmosphere. There is a large menu and special board and all our meals were top quality, I had the Chicken Roast, the potatoes were best I have had in ages and with eight different vegetables, top quality roast dinner. The are no real ales on tap, only in bottles. There is a car park for about 20 cars with lighting for these winter months. There is a farmer market attached to the restaurant. Its not dear for the quality of food and service. Wines start from £22 a bottle. I will recommend a visit."

"I visited this restaurant for lunch on Friday, November 17th, and I had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive. All the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Our son ordered a children's penne pasta, and the portion was quite generous. The kids' menu featured puzzles and coloring pictures, which kept him entertained and, more importantly, quiet! We will definitely return soon, and I highly recommend this place to anyone. "Very disappointed by the service received- waited mins for our order to be taken (the restaurant wasn’t full and our server appeared to have only other table to serve). After another mins we had to ask to go to the salad bar,...then when we returned the main course was already being served no chance to eat the salad first. Throughout the meal our server was inattentive and when we came to pay when he couldn’t get our pre-paid voucher to work he had to be asked to seek help from a colleague (who resolved the problem but did not offer any apology). We were not acknowledged when we left, and were generally made to feel unwelcome. Although the food was generally good portion sizes were small in relation to the overall cost and the service was so poor that we are not inclined to visit the restaurant again."

"We did the set menu at the River Garden. A number of the options had a supplement, the sundae was pretty average, as was the gnocchi, though the fish and burrata were delicious. It felt very overpriced at £55+ per head. There was also very loud music and someone on a microphone at the start of the meal that ruined the ambience. I wouldn’t go as far as to say we felt ripped off but it was pretty poor value for money."

"I had the lamb which was cooked perfectly. The chips were cold with no heat at all and this was the same for all of us. The chips may have been lovely hot, but cold they certainly weren 't. Perhaps we should have sent them back but there were six of us and I don 't think we could have stood the wait of six meals being brought up to temperature. The broccoli was also cold (but this isn 't such a problem for broccoli). The peppers were good, the sauce indifferent. Dessert was a brownie with an intenesely tart passionfruit coulis. In itself it was fine, but to my taste didn 't go with the brownie at all and actively fought against it. On top of this was a mousse whose flavour I 'd call 'sweet ' (I think it was supposed to be chocolate). On top of this were some pieces of honeycomb which didn 't add (or take away) anything. A dessert which while not actively unpleasant, I 'd never want to eat again. I 've been in chain restaurants like Cote or Cafe Rouge where they make a rich, satisfying choclate fondant I 'd much, much rather have a competent dessert than one which tries too hard and fails. I didn 't have a starter as I usually struggle with three courses and sides. I had the main, shared two sides and had a dessert and, when I left, was still hungry. For £40 plus wine this was an expensive disappointment. Six diners, four not happy with the meal, and haven 't discussed it with the other two."

"I've been coming to the salads after jaks for years. I was on my list to drink again and dinner. dawn was fantastic and flexible with us. we started with drinks in the cellar and gradually worked on the first floor to dinner. there is a second stage called the lounge that is a secret fund in mayfair! it is probably the next thing a private member club vibe. the personal was great! this is also a perfect place to rent very recommended for private parties! oh btw they have a sushi cook from hongkong, the sushi is probably one of the best I tried in mayfair! they have happy hour of 4 7pm would definitely come back!"

"we were in southend for the birthday of my son. we had planned to go somewhere else, but our arrival was not open to lunch. we were looking for tripadvisor and decided to go to istanbul bbq. what an amazing place and experience. the owner and the staff were great, eating is to die. "We visited Heritage on Wednesday to try their Christmas menu, I checked it before on their website and really liked the festive dishes they put. When we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely hostess, I think her name was Simona, she was so welcoming and attentive, and to me this attitude is always a huge bonus. The Christmas menu itself was a wonderful experience, we couldn't be more satisfied! Such a nice mix of authentic Alpine dishes with more familiar to us dishes of European cuisines. Taste-wise, our food was fantastic, from foie gras to bbq grill and then to a beautifully shaped quince strudel... Just marvellous! We will be definitely back again in the new year, looking forward to our next visit!"

"I have been a frequent customer at Yumn Brasserie for many years one year actually getting food poisoning from this restaurant due to the chicken which was not cooked properly. However as the manager has been very nice I have always come back due to myself being a Croydon local I enjoy helping out local business. On recent occasion as you can see from the photos I booked today for 2:15pm. I was running late made several calls and went on the chat to let them know I was running late and if there was a grace period. I ended up getting to the restaurant 10 mins late in the end. Once I got there I was greeted by a woman and gentleman. The woman said you must leave we are closing. I stated look at my booking the man tried to look on the system as again the woman tried to usher us out the restaurant. As I have worked in customer service I said to them hey let’s just come to the agreement there could have been something wrong with bookings on your side and let me re-book to celebrate the new year in with my family. She said I am not too sure the gentleman looked at the bookings and said we can squeeze you in. Then the manager walked in I explained the situation and the bad customer service and he said well do you want the booking then? I thought personally this was very bad customer service as the manager knows we are locals and we come to this restaurant every year to support their business. He could have made things right by offering us a complimentary drink or discount on our food. Unfortunately, I will not be dining here again. And Yumn Beasserie has lost me as a customer due to the level of service."

"I went to this restaurant with my friends for a nice get-together. The waitress was very efficient. We ordered from the lunch menu since it was before 5pm. Most of us ordered the Chicken dish. I chose it because it sounded delicious, but when it arrived, it was bland and uninteresting. The jacket potato was tough, and the chicken did not seem to be real chicken breast but processed. One of my friends ordered just vegetables, and when it arrived, it was filled with peas, almost seeming like they had used a whole bag of peas for her meal. The food had no flavor, and two of my friends didn't even finish their chicken. I won't be returning to this restaurant as it was poor quality and overpriced. The only positive thing was that we had a great time catching up with each other."

"I recently visited the Swan for the first time since the management change. Although the drinks took a while to arrive, the serving staff were exceptionally polite. The starters, ranging from bruschetta to prawns, were really good. The mains were a mix of great pizzas and kids pasta, with average ribs and a risotto that was initially good until one guest found some grit in it. When we pointed this out to the chef, they insisted it was a peppercorn, which we knew it definitely was not. Despite this, we didn't make a big deal out of it as another family member was covering the bill, but personally, I believe the chef should have been more honest about the mistake. It's something they should reflect on for the future."
