"Ordered Lamb tagine and bread for friday dinner from this Lebanese style restaurant. Honestly,I had some high expectations from this popular Moroccan dish which didn't met fully tbh.I was trying this dish for the first time and the taste was little Sweet and tangy. Bread was traditional roti (bread) served in Morocco.Would have to try some more dishes from the menu to make my review a complete one.Its a tentative 4.Price for the lamb tagine is 12.9£,so it's not cheap by any means.Lamb meat was cooked well and some vegetables are also in the gravy along with few pieces of semi dry plum, pieces of dry fruits.Portion is enough for one person."

"I visited yesterday March 30 for a birthday meal with my family we sat on the top floor in restaurant the waitership was as bad as the weather outside, she served us, but her attitude was stinking I am not quite sure whether it could be wrong because of the color of our skin, or it could only not have them, no personality as those in the kitchen away from the tables because of their setting I really did not relax to enjoy my meal. but we had a bowl with sweet potato chips they were very dry, laeks crumble too much in the did it was so much I wanted for apple instead of laeks. beautiful salatsteak was done to order a thing missing from the ordering the cook came out that he would be very polite and beautiful with in a short time while he brought it to her table with a smile.then the bill comes to my surprise I would notice that she would pay £17 and some pence the service fee is, I would not have paid if the waitress was better"

"I ordered takeaway here for the 1st time was “stupidly” unaware of what the various sauces were called. The man serving was not helpful arrogantly questioned what language I was speaking as I didn’t know the correct sauce names (I am English btw! . I said my partner was French but I was clearly English and speaking it so didn’t understand why he asked that! As we waited for the food outside, he thought I was out of earshot and shouted “learn to speak English”. I went back to challenge him on this disgusting comment and he seemed surprised I had heard and then tried to blag he was making a joke! He was NOT! Just because I’m not upto speed on the official names of his precious sauces, it does not make it acceptable to be so rudely insulted or at least make sure they definitely can’t hear you! Safe to say we won’t be going back. Oh and the food was ****!"

"The Olive Tree Brasserie in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire is a wonderful discovery. Although there is outdoor seating, we chose to sit inside due to the dark, cold, and wet weather. The restaurant is small and intimate, with a lively atmosphere. The food is presented with flair and is absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Whether you are a local or just visiting the area, be sure to make a reservation at The Olive Tree Brasserie."

"Open late! Never fails me for a great end-of-the-night kebab. Have not ventured much beyond this and the hummus/other dips/tabouleh/halloumi which is all standard fare for this chain, but of those things none are ever a let down and the portions are extremely generous. Great juice as well, always friendly staff and wickedly tangy garlic sauce. The menu is actually quite substantial and they have a number of dishes which you don't see in every Lebanese establishment. Have yet to try, but they sound tempting."

"Not local to this area, I chose this restaurant from the consistently excellent Tripadvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. For starters we had the salt pepper squid, which was tasty and cooked just right. For our main courses we had Lamb Bunny Chow and Cyder battered fish chips. The fish was haddock, my preference, which was moist and very nicely cooked in a light crispy batter which wasn’t greasy. The accompanying side dish of onion straws was lightly seasoned and very nicely cooked, which made them very tasty. The Lamb Bunny Chow was very tasty, and such a large portion, that we took the unfinished remains home with us. The vanilla crème brulee was delicious and had the light crispy top that a brulee should have. The service was very good, from friendly and helpful staff. We had a table for two with two funky comfortable wing backed chairs. It was quiz night, but we had considerately been placed in an area separate to the main quiz area, so that we were not overpowered by the event. However, we did have a go at answering the questions ourselves, which was fun. The overall décor is a rustic style, with comfortable dining chairs which I appreciate. We will definitely visit again when next in the area."

"open on a Sunday that is so populated for brunch, boiled eggs perfect, but beans were a little watery and loaded with mushrooms -can with a bit of a variety on the veg in the veg fry up. Sausage was baked moshee by veg in kartoffeln with not much texture - could do with a better veg sausage. hash brown was perfect, but I would have liked two instead of so much toast/moushrooms. orange juice was super freshly squeezed and amazing. will be back to try other menu options - see a lively place with native."

"Wow, what a little gem of a place! Visiting Cheltenham for the first time, after exploring the town, feeling a bit peckish, sort of stumbled into Vegetus. Not exactly on the high street, but a few minutes walk off the main drag. Cosy, and welcoming, quite busy on Saturday lunchtime, we hadn't pre booked, so we sat outside in the sunshine for a few minutes while our table was prepared. The vibe is decidedly middle eastern, with the jolliest of hosts. His infectious good humour permeates the place. Spotlessly clean and well organised, we ordered a tagine and a mousaka, with the Beirut cooler for a non alcoholic drink. Both generous servings were delivered after a few minutes, piping hot and delicious. For dessert we had warm baklava with ice cream and a totally yummy (egg free) chocolate cake. The desert was so good, we split it, boxed it and took a slice home for our daughter! I cannot recommend this place enough, we now have a good reason to go back to Cheltenham. Try it, you will love it."

"My husband and I were disappointed to find out that our favorite Pasta Restaurant had closed, so we were in search of a new dining spot for our Theatre Visits to the Park Theatre. Since we enjoy Lebanese food, we decided to try out My Cottage Restaurant. We arrived a bit early due to lighter-than-expected traffic and were greeted somewhat indifferently. The restaurant was narrow and deep, with slightly worn furniture and fittings. The table was sticky and the cutlery and crockery had water stains. We ordered apple juice with mint and a bottle of sparkling water, which turned out to be a small 330ml bottle of Perrier Water. For starters, we had Potato Harra and Makdous, followed by Qormeh Sabzi and Lahm Mashwi. To our surprise, the main courses arrived before the starters. The Potato Harra was flavorful, but the Qormeh Sabzi was disappointing and lacked seasoning. The Aubergine and Lamb were also underwhelming. The baklawa for dessert was tasty and well-baked. When we asked for the bill, we were informed that their card machine was not working, so we had to pay with cash. Overall, the restaurant was quirky and tired, with mediocre food and service. We felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff. While the meal was not cheap at £85, it did not meet the standards of other Lebanese restaurants in London. It is unlikely that we will be returning to this restaurant."

"The distinctive exterior gives an impression of authenticity and ambition. I never eat out these days as I’m invariably disappointed but thought I’d take a punt, just on that exterior. I can handle an alcohol free dining experience but what was on offer, drink-wise was uninspiring. I went to ‘lemon juice’ and my partner went for ‘carrot juice’. Surely it couldn’t just be lemon juice, carrot juice but it was; no frills, bog standard glassware. I imagine they prepare all their dishes in plastic takeaway tubs. A portion of meat, some veg and then rice. This makes them easy to store and reheat with portion control sorted. But to reheat it and present it on a plate still in the shape of an upturned takeaway tub wasn’t visually the most inspirational approach. Too much rice, too little flavour, too little value."

"We ate here early on a Saturday evening. It's relaxed and friendly, when we arrived there were a couple of families with small kids, it's nice. Decor is quirky and the food was superb. We chose 5 mezze between two of us and that was abour right for our appetites. I would especially recommend the foul medames, but hey, it was all good. If you like middle eastern food this is the place for you. When we ate it was cash only."

"Stopped here on the way home from central London after a day of celebrating a birthday. We wanted some live music and we were not disappointed! Fantastic band and we ordered some small plates to fill our stomachs. Great vibes, great food and lovely service. It's been fab since the refurbishment and change of hands."

"Could have gone so much better! I ordered one of the BBQ plates but as I don’t eat lamb and can’t even stand the flavour, I’d ask to take it of my plate, the lady said no problem and that they’d instead give chicken xishe on its place… when my plate arrives all looked delicious as the starters were delicious too. But when I tried the meat it all tasted like lamb and I’d know this because I can’t take its flavour). I told the lady serving our table and didn’t even request to replace anything but she comes back saying that the chef says it’s impossible that the meat tasted like lamb rude). Sure not taking the risk at that restaurant again.. not to mention that the table servant kept taking star out of the table when we had not even finished with the starters or anything yet.."

"Last week, I was invited to dinner at a new restaurant called Aline in Mayfair by PocketHighStreet, and it was without a doubt, the most food I’ve ever eaten in one sitting (and I grew up in Cyprus! I thought I was going to explode on the way home, but it was an incredibly satisfied feeling. As many of you may know, I love a sandwich (I seem to have written quite a few sandwich related posts recently! so when PocketHighStreet told me that Aline specialises in ‘gourmet sandwiches,’ I couldn’t have been more excited."

"I went here for dinner and had the most amazing butter beans. They were served in a spicy tomato sauce that was full of flavour. It came with 3 salads. I chose the smart salad, the tomato salad, and the green bean salad. Every was flavoured beautifully and the portions were large. I'm tired of vegan junk food and deep fried satan. It is so nice to find a place that does vegan food right. Beautifully marinated vegetables and salads, and flavorful beans for protein, with no fake meats in sight. This place celebrates the joy of eating vegetables."

"amazing!. we went here last night and were completely blown away by the food. we ordered the dalila mezze and main at £42, and it was absolutely delicious. the hommos beiruty was perfect, not too much tahini and a great resistance. the flesh was delicious. we have always tried only falafel, which is quite dry, but this was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and was a new experience. the owner tony and his personal did everything to make us feel at home and made sure we didn't want anything. baklava came at the end of the meal and again was exactly right, as it was not too sweet what it is often. we will definitely come back, and again, and again!. we could not read more"

"Had a lovely meal here the food was excellent and can thoroughly recommend the sea bass cooked to perfection. First time we had visited and certainly won’t be the last. The owners were delightful very friendly and warm. The staff were rushed off their feet as it was a busy night but the delay in getting food was very welcome as the portion sizes were extremely generous so we had no complaints with this as were not in any hurry."

"We had a special meal to celebrate our anniversary, and I’m so glad we discovered this restaurant. The atmosphere was elevated, the music was relaxed and pleasant, and the service was incredibly friendly while still being efficient. As for the food—wow! My partner, who usually just says "good" or "nice" when asked about his meal, described his dish as outstanding and delicious, which speaks volumes. Each course was beautifully presented and left us feeling satisfied rather than overly full. I can't recommend the blueberry panna cotta enough! This place is an absolute must-visit if you're in the area, whether you're celebrating something special or just want a fantastic meal in a wonderfully relaxed environment. It was truly wonderful!"
