"We were searching for something to get for lunch and came across this place. Very nice atmosphere, Malik was a great waiter and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend eating here!"

"We stumbled upon a unique gem in Durham called Shaheen's. Despite a power outage in the area, Shaheen's remained open and welcoming on a cold and rainy night. Adam, the son of founder Bob, greeted us warmly, giving the restaurant a family-run feel. The food showed a genuine passion for family recipes, with well-managed spice levels and flavorful dishes. We tried starters like the fried onion, mushrooms and garlic, and a lamb kabob, with the kabob standing out as a favorite. The black dal was a pleasant surprise. For mains, we enjoyed the Chicken tikka, which was both mild and spicy, paired with brown basmati rice and garlic naan. Overall, Shaheen's is a homestyle restaurant where you feel cared for. We will definitely be back for more. Cheers, Shaheen's!"

"Less pleasing experience than previously: very noisy and overcrowded. Difficult to navigate to get to the loo etc. Fine evening so asked to sit outside at the back. Was told that no longer exists! Why? Food fine, if unmemorable. Wine expensive for a pub. Saving grace was our waiter, Nicolas. Cheerful, efficient, informative, good eye contact. Brought food quickly considering how busy he was and what he had to contend with. We came here because of previous pleasant experiences but are in no hurry to return. Could do better QH&A!"

"Pleasant welcome to this quiet(Sunday lunch) friendly feeling place. Food was excellent although very typical, hoummos beiruty and taouk particularly tasty. Quite extensive Lebanese and other wines, possibly a little on pricey side. Musar Jeune a good red pick. Nice to patronise an owner-restaurant instead of the famous London Lebanese where service seems to becoming mechanical and a bit snooty. Recommended"

"chelsea kitchen has changed pretty much in the last decades. I remember being given as a child, but still remember that it is with fantastic eating and a busy atmosphere. in its new position, the overall quality of food has gone a bit down. I had lasagne, a parmesan salad and ice for dessert, while my friend had chicken parmesan and ice for dessert. my food came all together (the dessert that was ordered later) the lasagne was more of a meat pot that tasted good, but really was not what was expected. the chicken parmesan looked good, although he wasn't too big, after my friend. it also seemed to be a local drunkenness during the meal. surprise others have good things to say about this place."

"The food is incredible! I had been to Turkey before, and I can confidently say that this is the best I’ve ever had! The meat is well-marinated, incredibly tender, and juicy. The sauce is outstanding! The waiter was very friendly, and the chef even came out to greet us with warm smiles. I will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you so much for the amazing food!"

"If you like middle-eastern food, this is the place for you. Main dishes are good, but I recommend ordering several small dishes instead, its so much more fun. The selection of both hot and cold mezza (small dishes) is enormous. Feast on dishes such as Moutabel Baba Ghanouj (Baba Ghanoul witth grilled eggplant pureed in), Tabouleh (that faboulous salad with a parsley base), Hommos Bazenjan Al-Rahib (Eggplant with tomato, onion, mint parsley). All on the cold Mezza menu and all around £5. And/or go for the hot Mezza with wonderful grilled Halloumi, Falafel, Batata Harra (fried potatos vegetables), Jawaneh (grilled wings with the most incredible Med garlic aoli) and Soujok (a spicy sausage). Each dish between £6-7. Then there is the “Lebanese Pastry” selection, from £4-6, with the most incredible Lebanese “pies”: spinach onion, lamb pine nuts, Halloumi, etc. Shawarmas are £5-6. Vegetarians and non alike will be in heaven. The fresh juices are great too. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious, service is relaxed and friendly and the room is serene and beautiful. Enjoy."

"Unfortunately, this 1-star review is based on the fact that we didn't actually get to try the food. Booked online for lunch time and received confirmation email. Turned up a bit before booking time but after restaurant was supposed to be open. It wasn't. Door was closed and locked (there was a confused looking delivery driver waiting outside too who eventually gave up and left). While waiting, several apparent staff members turned up and had to bang on a side door to be let in, all pointedly not acknowledging our presence waiting outside the main door. Booking time arrived. Still closed and locked (and looking through window they didn't look like they were close to opening). Tried knocking. No answer. Tried phoning. No answer. Not even to apologise for running late. Booking time came and went. We gave up and left. If the website allows a time to be booked, and I book a specific time then I expect the restaurant to BE OPEN AND READY BY THAT TIME. And since this cost a long train ride into London, its not something I will risk again."

"Although we have enjoyed good meals at this restaurant in the past, our latest experience was not as satisfactory. The bread was not warm, and the food was not as hot as it should have been, likely because it had cooled down. Additionally, sitting near the door in a cooler area did not contribute to a positive dining experience. The service was good, but overall, the evening fell short of our previous visits to this establishment."

"Having lived in London 33 years, I knew this restaurant existed, always wanted to visit, now I regret not coming sooner. There are thousands of trendy, go to places in this city, most are all style over substance. This place gives a you a warm Cypriot/Greek hug, rarely found these days. No frills or fanciness, they know what they are doing and do it well. It is like stepping back in time but that is not a bad thing. It makes you feel like and old friend you met in a taverna in Ayia Napa. The food is as Greek/Cypriot as you can get. Generous, well cooked and delicious. The Dolmades are divine but the Kleftiko is the star, a very slow cooked large piece of lamb cooked till it completely falls off the bone.Rice is cooked in stock with tiny slivers of pasta. To be honest it is all of a very high standard. The prices are extremely reasonable. This is not art on a plate. You will need a hefty appetite, leaving full, satisfied with a warm glow, The music will stay in your head and adds to the atmosphere. I brought a friend for his birthday on Thursday lunch, decided to return yesterday with another friend, both loved it.The staff are welcoming, lovely and a joy. This place is just what it says on the tin. If any one criticizes they have never eaten great food in a Greek/Cypriot restaurant before.."

"I have visited over 15 Greek restaurants in London, and Karavas definitely ranks in my top two. One of the standout features is the generous portion size of the meat meze, which is priced at ÂŁ19."

"The food was yummy and you won’t go home hungry. I was even able to take back a doggy bag. I was not a big fan of the belly dancing as I was trying to catch up with a friend I had not seen in a while. I think it would be good to offer an option where you can sit somewhere a little more quiet if you wish. However I appreciate this may just be me!"

"I ordered takeaway here for the 1st time was “stupidly” unaware of what the various sauces were called. The man serving was not helpful arrogantly questioned what language I was speaking as I didn’t know the correct sauce names (I am English btw! . I said my partner was French but I was clearly English and speaking it so didn’t understand why he asked that! As we waited for the food outside, he thought I was out of earshot and shouted “learn to speak English”. I went back to challenge him on this disgusting comment and he seemed surprised I had heard and then tried to blag he was making a joke! He was NOT! Just because I’m not upto speed on the official names of his precious sauces, it does not make it acceptable to be so rudely insulted or at least make sure they definitely can’t hear you! Safe to say we won’t be going back. Oh and the food was ****!"

"There was a great delay to have the first starters, but then everything goes smoothly. The food was delicious and the quantities were good. Unfortunately, Desserts were not handmade and the tasty in this case were not as expected... we were in New Year's Eve (new year eve) and the prices were really high. For the amount and quality of meal, too much (45 pounds per person)."

"The Olive Tree Brasserie in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire is a wonderful discovery. Although there is outdoor seating, we chose to sit inside due to the dark, cold, and wet weather. The restaurant is small and intimate, with a lively atmosphere. The food is presented with flair and is absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Whether you are a local or just visiting the area, be sure to make a reservation at The Olive Tree Brasserie."

"I recently had a satisfying meal at Mem and Laz. The chicken breast was juicy and the chili sauce had a nice kick to it. I opted for the bread and butter pudding for dessert, but found it to be disappointing - dry and lacking in flavor even with the custard. Despite this, I enjoyed my overall dining experience. Please note that a service charge is included in the bill. Unfortunately, my return visit was less than satisfactory. I ordered Mediterranean vegetables but received mainly eggplant, courgettes, and onions. The eggplant had an odd rubbery texture and was difficult to cut with a knife, indicating it may not have been freshly prepared. Additionally, I noticed an increase in prices since my previous visit."

"Open late! Never fails me for a great end-of-the-night kebab. Have not ventured much beyond this and the hummus/other dips/tabouleh/halloumi which is all standard fare for this chain, but of those things none are ever a let down and the portions are extremely generous. Great juice as well, always friendly staff and wickedly tangy garlic sauce. The menu is actually quite substantial and they have a number of dishes which you don't see in every Lebanese establishment. Have yet to try, but they sound tempting."

"The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing. We have visited multiple times and have always had a wonderful experience. Even though we live in Kent, whenever we are in the area, we make sure to dine here. The roast dinners are the best we have ever had, very flavorful with a great selection. The restaurant is also dog-friendly. We are looking forward to returning on Sunday!"
