"We arrived and they had noBooking for us! They moved two people who had just sat down to accommodate our party of 6! After a bad start we had the best attention from the management! The food was fabulous and the restaurant was quirky and buzzing! My 5 Danish friends who can’t really get curry at home were raving about the place and the food! Thank you to the cool staff who made it just the best!"

"This was our 3rd visit to Mala in just over a year. Our experiences have always been the same, not all the staff are that welcoming, not rude, just not the most friendly, however the food has always been very good. Not the cheapest Indian restaurant but we get that bearing in mind it's location on St Katherine's dock. Ultimately for us we go for the food so on that basis would highly recommend."

"My partner and I were looking for an Indian meal somewhere a bit quieter and stumbled across this restaurant-the interior is supposed to look like the inside of a ship, however the decor really does need updating to move with the times. Food wise it was tasty-the menu was simplified compared to the pages you get in other indian restaurants, I had chicken tikka Bombay aloo and pilau rice, the food was quite rich and creamy-it tasted nice but definitely not the place to go if you are looking for a light meal. I would come back again but the decor definitely needs modernising."

"London has a long list of fake' Indian restaurants places where nothing is Indian except the names of the dishes on the menus. Bhatti is one of them. Although the waiter denied this and guaranteed their chef was Indian I had my doubts when the paratha and nan were both made in the tandoor, the butter chicken was made with tomato purée and the motor' paneer had so much mutter in it that it became difficult to wash it down with water as well. "The food is good but they can't make a decent lassi. Service was erratic. The table was not cleaned after the mains and before dessert. Saturday night was quite empty downstairs. Upstairs was a party and very noisy with their own music blaring. It's not a private room; it's open and clearly visible from downstairs so not ideal for diners wanting to chat. Management has changed hands in the past year again. Iron out these kinks and it would be a great place."

"Truly shocking. Having been regulars of this takeaway for quite some time it pains me to write this review. The quality of the food has declined of late and we have complained about the high price low portion size of some of the dishes particularly the king prawns. However last night was the final straw. The box of curry arrived and it looked as if the driver had been in a crash every container had burst and the contents of the containers was all in the box. "We booked this restaurant last minute and made our reservation the last one on a Saturday evening which was 10:30pm. Due to the concert at nearby Sage running late, we were late as a result! The restaurant called me just to check we were still attending and we confirmed that we were and arrived 10 minutes late. That was absolutely no problem to the team. They made us feel so welcome and I un rushed as I’m sure they, like anyone else, wanted to get tidied away and home! The whole team were so friendly, they chatted with us and really made us feel like a valued customer. This meant a lot. Next is the food! It was absolutely amazing, we all had a fantastic meal, the sauces were superb. I have to say that this was probably one of the best Indian meals I have ever had! Would thoroughly recommend!"

"We ordered the butter chicken, korma, naans and pulao rice. It was the best curry I've ever had my partner loves curry (he is a head chef), absolutely adored the meal. The food was very fresh and we felt the chefs really knew what they were doing in that kitchen! Highly recommended staff were also extremely friendly and toilets very clean. Thank you!"

"The food was good but not exceptional. The portions were big, I couldn't eat it all which is unusual as we didn't do the usual over order. I would say its very good value and very acceptable, but I am always looking for that something special with the spices in an Indian which this didn't quite deliver. But I would go back and try again as it was Friday night and not always the best night to try an Indian."
