"How on earth this restaurant acquired 5 stars is utterly beyond me. It doesn 't deserve one star. I looked at the menu and the reviews and booked. As it was Valentine 's night there was a set menu. 3 options on each course. This was not stated on the website. We were greeted when we arrived and were served drinks. There was no ambience whatsoever. A rose/carnation on the table or a glass of champagne/prosecco on arrival might have been an idea.... I would have chosen the crab and salmon ravioli. However we were told than ten minutes prior to our arrival the chef had 'dropped the whole tray of ravioli on the floor '. So the ravioli was off. We then chose the pate. We were given one piece of toast Main course was dreadful. My salmon was lukewarm. Very small portion too. My guest chose steak but was not asked how he wanted it cooked. It arrived very rare so it was sent back. It was cooked a bit more and returned to the table. It was very very tough. By this time I had finished my main course and my drink. I was not asked whether I would like another. After quite a while, we had to ask. The cheese board was mediocre to say the least. The restaurant was cold and uninviting. Rather sad as it is a lovely building with great potential. Why they only had three options on the menu is beyond me. It was not even busy! The owner was in jeans and a cowboy shirt.... there was no attempt to make this night special in any way. We were told that two staff had called in sick. Poor excuse. This restaurant has been open for exactly three years. It should have made its mark by now. The owner did make a reduction to our bill. However the evening was ruined and I came home feeling hungry. I think the owner is in the wrong job. Just a final comment.... having read the glowing reviews of this place before I booked I suspect the owner has a lot of friends! Such a pity."

"Since the well-run and ever better informed diners of london visit the market for authenticity, it is interesting to see how the restaurant of the middle market Indian' is coming. where I come from, no single Indian restaurant is operated by a person who has ever been in india (the family behind the taj mahal originates from karachi, and the man who promises a taste of india, hails from chittagong.) but in the city london and in countless suburbs, we have come to accept, embrace and always ask we go for a curry' instantly connotable asses of mild deception, civil and frivole entertainment and feel very full with delicious meat and fat. and there is always this beautiful moment when they serve them a laminated menu of frozen desserts in a plastic penuin that they would have rejected, even if they were not too full again because it is a disturbing picture. sripur is close to my office, zomato informed me, so I led us there about a precurry doombar in the cheshire Cheese./ and yes, in the old of dishoom, food trucks and Michelin-starred curry kitchen, the mid-market curry house of the city is alive and well. / I say the medium market because for two of us, with a poppadom, a tandoori mixed grill everyone, say chana, roti and naan, plus two large kingfishers each, the bill came to £60. < br>/ but it was great. not spectacular, but the mixed grill was exactly what they want to stand at this price point among these. the keema was substantial, the fehde. the naans were a bit thin and crispy for my personal taste, but they said and channa were both deliciously fed. and kingfisher is kingfisher a sin qua non of a good (british) curry experience./ was sripur as location service is friendly enough, efficient and uninvasive. it is mainly colonized by some men in suits. not the loud, obnoxic art, but a smashing, something behind their best gray-handed-the-ears chaps with loose ties and the intention of a £40 taxi house in front of them. / could have had another curry for it."

"Unclean Premises When we arrived at Chapati Junction, all the tables were stained with food, many with plates and food debris still remaining. We sat at a dirty table but the staff made no effort to clean it until being explicitly asked. Improper food handling the staff member on duty conducted a call on his mobile phone while simultaneously preparing our food. Food only partially heated We ordered 2 veg samosas followed by 2 vegetable curries with rice. The potatoes were warm on the outside but still cold in the middle. The overall temperature of the food was tepid, lukewarm. The food had been partially heated by microwave into the ‘danger zone’ but had not been heated thoroughly. When this was raised with the staff on duty (as soon as we could get to the counter after another customer had ordered), we were told that the food wasn’t heated thoroughly because “some people don’t like it too hot”. Hair in food there was a thick, grey hair in the food, matching the exact length and colour hair of the staff member who prepared it. Aggressive staff When questioned about the hair, the staff member became aggressive and told us it was a slice of onion. Forced Payment In light of all the issues above, we did not feel safe eating at Chapati Junction and tried to negotiate a partial payment, i.e. we would pay for the samosas which were fine, but not the unclean, lukewarm mains. The staff member continued to be aggressive and told us we were trying to “rip him off”, so we paid in full and left."
