"This is one of my favourite places in London and I normally recommend it to my friends and people I know are big foodies. This restaurant has been a staple of my London life since 1992, the year I moved to Uk, and it has always been consistent, faultless, and just perfect. The ambience is still good, the food is still good, the lack of attention to detail and the rushed, careless service from our waiter a short, bald guy that was probably rushed off or simply too busy to cope with guests asking for guidance on wines, or desserts, leaving us meanwhile we were talking to him, mid-sentence), is simply unbelievable. If you are busy, I understand, but leaving us meanwhile we are deciding, or asking your opinion, is not ok, no matter how you want to look at it. It happened twice, when I was asking for advise on the wine, and then again when we were trying to order the desserts. I am ok with waiting, I am ok with receiving the starters before the wine we ordered, I am ok with leaving the langoustine shelves on the table for a long time and getting the wine at the wrong temperature, and not clearing a small table, not replacing the dirty plates and cutlery, and not bringing the new cutlery, but it is not ok to tell us in an angry way to move a very small iPhone so he could put the new food on the table without having cleared the dirty plates and cutlery which were there for a long time first. This was also a birthday dinner for my best friend, and this was specified in the reservation. Of course it was ignored and nothing was mentioned or even acknowledged during our dinner. Again, I am astonished by how badly things have gone in one of my favourite places on the service side. We ordered the smoked mackerel and the langoustines to start with, the pork chop with fennel and the hake with anchoiade, plus a very good Chassagne Montrachet, and a brownie with blackcurrant and creme fraiche, together with a meringue with pear and chocolate sauce . I am very sad to say I am not rushing to go back . Which is a shame, as I was very fond of this restaurant."

"the dining room is down and a surprisingly large room, wooden dressed and maybe because the noise levels are high. but the tables are well spaced and you never feel crowded, and the ambiente has failed. Although there is a...excellent selection of starters, we decided to move directly to the main event that is necessarily the steaks at hawksmoor. I traveled a lot in the usa and have often eaten at legendary US steak houses, but my sirloin (rare) was so good or better than the best I had in the usa. beautifully seasoned, perfectly cooked and completely delicious. a good steak is a thing of beauty and that was, without asking, a good steak a very good steak. the sprouts were also excellent, the beef-dryries were crisp and full of taste, the creamy spinat rich and tasty, the buttered greens al dente. desserts did not disappoint me that I chose the cheese selection, with the proposed oloroso as a reference. my friends the rhubarb pavlowa and the ambassadeur a nutritious concoction. both annoyed that they were more than happy with what was presented, and their tellers enjoyed the eye and the palate. the staff was very well informed, attentive, without pushy, engaged and charming a credit to the restaurant. So why only four stars, instead of five, because of the weeping prizes, I'm afraid. the selection is impressive, but the prices are, candid, on the optimistic side. the bottle corbieres has been charged and that is quite galling if you can buy it at a decent wein dealer for a ten. it was a beautiful wein, safe, but very much to the cheaper end of the list, where the prices climbed quite steeply from per bottle to dizzying heights. I am carp, because it was a wonderful meal, in a very pleasant environment, with very friendly and competent staff only ready to cover for the vino:"

"bethnal green used to be my stolen floor. the four years that I spent during university in the postcodes (before the move and then not just far away now) saw more house parties than fine eating, but as always the way with up and upcoming areas, the good restaurants are quick to find an opportunity. what did the youngs behind claphams the dairy the manor last juli. the paradise garage is an ideal place to enjoy the last spring and summer sun. I actually made it over the last Wednesday to try the best bean small plates that are large on textures and aromes.Welcomed in by the first glowing of only illuminated candles and the most friendly of hosts and hostes, we were shown at our table on the side of the restaurant. this was the perfect place to admire the tiled walls, the weeping up, the hauch of turquoise and of course the beautiful open kitchen, framed by green. While we chose champagne, still warm sourdough came at the table together with homemade whisky butter and a taste of pickled root, which had the perfect bite and tang./ the choice what was to have was hard, but of course we have on the plate. they recommend sharing two or three small plates and the cannon picnic' consisting of all the cannon used in different ways, or three or four small plates. we went for the latter (although very tried and decided by the Tasting menu to negotiate decisions. / first came the black pfeffer, the black pfeffer and the apfel salumi, which lasted all five seconds before we dipped into the venisontare and jerusal artichoke. here the textures began to come into play with the artichoke as foam and the flesh penetrated easily to be broken together with the brot./ then came the corn basket with fennel, ingwer and borage. a little looser and damper than we had expected and the brown crab biscuit split on the plate, but the fresh fennel brought him all together, and a world away from the fennel chemsy that accompanied the lamb hearts-slivers, the rich in taste even under the smooth sour of the pumice. that was our least popular dish of the day that was overshadowed by what had come before, but by no means a duff order. the stronger aromas of the cod from the sea were the more memorable; smoked fish, strong rogen, jam and ketchup./ for dessert we ordered cheese (can not take any french without having to judge the cheese plate) and the white chocolate parrot, which was perfectly balanced with little french. / would have been during my university days, I would probably have spent all my student loans and bar services in paradise garage. from the attention to the different textures, to the preference of the teller (both eating and the whistle) and the warmest greeting, gill and the team have proved that they are the top of their game again. four of five."
