"I've told many a Londoner about Robin Gill's superb restaurants in Clapham Common, but several including the Michelin judges seem to think it's too far out of their way. More fool them. Now that he's set up shop in a trendy East London railway arch, next door to Mission and Mother Kelly's, and down the road from Typing Room and Peg Patriot, Clapham abstainers might take notice. As at the aforementioned sister restaurants, there is an outstanding tasting menu available at all times for 45, tempting a la carte options split up in to Snacks, Garden, Sea, Land and Dessert, and a ludicrous lunch deal of four courses for 25 every Wed Fri from 12 3pm. One of the new hip restaurants opening in London in the last couple of weeks. Run by the same cook who was at the helm of the highly rated Manor and Diary. Having been to neither of these restaurants, our hopes were built upon crowd expectations and we had high hopes of finding our own nirvana at Paradise Garage.

I have been wanting to visit The Dairy and The Manor in Clapham for a while now, but for some reason, I never made it there despite them being close to where I live. However, when Paradise Garage opened in Bethnal Green, I immediately made a reservation, even though it's not on my side of London. That's just how my brain works, or doesn't work, I guess! Paradise Garage is the perfect spot to enjoy the last days of spring and summer. I visited last Wednesday and sampled the best beans, trying small plates with diverse textures and flavors. Welcomed by the soft glow of the only illuminated...
