"Terrible customer service. At 10:50, one of the waiters came to tell us that they were closing in 10 minutes. At 10:51 they brought us the bill and then at 10:52 they started taking the payment. They were basically kicking us out of the restaurant. I removed the service charge (which is optional), for the same and they then came and took the plates away when I was STILL eating. Disgraceful and extremely poor customer service. I do NOT recommend this place at all."

"This is the best Thai restaurant nin the UK that i have come across. And i know authentic Thai food with the typical short cuts that the restauranteurs make. This is the real deal! This is not the first time I have been impressed with this restaurant. I visited the Chapel Allerton restaurant 7 years ago and was equally impressed. The food is brilliantly cooked by the owner/family who is himself Thai. The6 have a transparent kitchen. It is cooked from scratch to order. The ingredients are fresh and correct. This was perfect in every way. The seevice waa very very good. The orice was fair. Every mirsel and mouthful was delicious. It 8s now foing to be booked for eqxh visit to Leeds ir Harrogate. As aomeone who has soent a significant amount of time in Thailand, i can say thisnis equal if not superior to wha5 i have uad in Thailand. So very very good. So what could be improved? 1. Water needs to be put on the table as a matter of course. We requested this but it was forgotten. 2. When you have booked you should be ahown dirextly to your table not expected to wait to be seated and handed a menu. 3. The view of the street needs to be obsxured a bit nore as it isnt a food view to see pwople walking past and looming in as you eat. (On the side road). 4. A small scoop.of.ice cream and or chocolate and or digestive drink should be laid on as part of the end or fiven with the bill. Overall very very very impressive. I loved it. I will return. I highly recommend it."

"I ordered a take-away for my family just after 5pm on Saturday evening, spending over £50. It took over 2 hours to arrive and when we unpacked it, the cartons for several dishes were less than 50% full. E.G. Beef with Pak Choi, charged at £7.95 and Crispy Seaweed £5.45 but there was literally less than half a carton. What sort of restauranteur would think it's acceptable to keep a customer waiting over 2 hours, then send out cartons that are quite clearly nowhere near a fair size portion for the price they charge? No apology, not even a few prawn crackers as a gesture to make up for the wait. Then the added insult of only enabling me to feed half my family. Needless to say I will NEVER order from Paya again and my advice to anyone else is to choose another restaurant."

"I passed by a display board outside this restaurant which showed inter alia a plate of mango sticky rice one of my favourites I was intrigued also by the fact that there was no shop front just a door leading to the downstairs restaurant. I ordered a plate of spicy aubergine, which was good and then the desired mango sticky rice. The mango was like turnip and I complained to the waiter. He admitted that that was all they had in terms of mangos. He was taking the plate away when, not liking to see things go to waste, I said I could eat some of the sticky rice with its coconut sauce and the plate was returned with that part on it. When the bill came I couldn 't believe that, instead of being charged about £8 for the mango sticky rice I was charged about £6 for the rice! I complained again and this charge was removed from the bill. When I returned home and retailed this story to my wife she reminded me that we had in fact dined at this restaurant pre Covid and had such a poor meal that we had vowed never to go there again!"

"I was so surprised! From the outside it looks small, cramped and not special. However once inside it is so lovely, clean and classic. Everything is pristine and the staff are friendly. We over ordered because we planned on taking a doggy bag home, instead the food was so delicious we over ate and couldn't even make room for dessert. I am just so impressed, can't believe I waited this long to try it."

I ordered the tofu seafood jjigae and beef bibimbap for me and had the most amazing meal I am a fan of Korean cuisine and eating in kinkao korea could not taste more authentic, homemade and tasty. the chef is really generous with the part of the seafood in the stew and the bibimbap had all the highlights of a stone pot bibibap! the fluffy short-grain rice was coupled with crispy pieces of burned rice (like the species as it should be and the sauce was made in the house and had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and sour. all the aromas of bibimbap came together harmoniously and it was the perfect antidote...read more"

"Every review says the same across all different review sites – this is 100% a total scam taking people 's money and not sending orders out. Literally the worst service I have ever received from any takeaway in London. Ordered direct via their website and after an hour I called to make sure my order had been received. I was asked for my order number and postcode and told yes it had and the driver was on the way. We live 5 minutes away from them, so when it didn 't arrive in 10 minutes I called again and was told the same. I repeated that process a further two times and was told the same, and that the driver would arrive 'any second '. After an hour and a half I called again and was told the order had never been received and nothing had left the kitchen yet. Their staff lied repeatedly – tbh it sounded like the same guy on each call, including when he admitted the order had never been cooked yet. On one of the phone calls the guy even 'called the driver to see where he was '. Totally mental. I cancelled the order and will be amazed if I see a refund. This is the second time using them and the second time we 've had an issue."

"This little gem is located on a quiet street just a stone's throw from The Meadows, a short walk from the main accommodation and teaching facilities of the University of Edinburgh, and only a 15-20 minute walk from the castle and the Royal Mile, and it's worth the wander. While its appearance from the outside is unassuming, the welcome inside is far from that, and the food is wonderful. We enjoyed a selection of delicious starters and Thai soups, followed by tasty curries, noodles, and rice, all in generous portions and served with the widest of smiles. The prices are very good, ideal for a family meal or visiting a family member studying at the university (like us). In terms of cost, the restaurant has the additional advantage of allowing you to bring your own alcohol: Gary, the owner (who runs the operation along with his partner and his excellent and friendly team) no longer sells alcohol on the premises, preferring to encourage customers to drink their own beverage (with no corkage fees), which, if needed, can be purchased at a store directly across the street from the restaurant. So, for a wonderful meal at a modest cost, Thai Laos has a plethora of options. We loved it, and will definitely be back."

"This was our first visit and we will be back. There are so many dishes we want to try. The food is fantastic, full of flavour, beautifully presented. The Tempura Prawns were beautiful, cooked perfectly with a crunchy batter coating. Thai Green Curry was very traditional with a nice balance of spice and flavour. Stir Fry was flavoursome and a good mix of chicken and vegetables. It was a very busy night with lots of delivery drivers collecting orders this is good as it shows how popular the restaurant is, but service in the restaurant was affected. It didn’t spoil our evening though."

"The food is great, but the management has gone south. The staff seemed over anxious to clear our table literally minutes after they brought the food out. Thereafter we felt like we were being asked to leave every five minutes. The icing on the cake was when they turned on bright lights at (when the kitchen was supposed to close at and we literally had to step over a Hoover to get out. Terrible service never going back there. What a shame with such good food!"

For a restaurant that 's is clearly not full to capacity you would think they would want to attract people to stay and spend a bit more with coffee etc ,if they were full I can understand but this is typically being treated as if you are on a convey belt ,at they want ypu out as fast as possible . Sorry but the food is great service attitude needs to change"

"The crispy duck was delicious, but unfortunately, the main dish left much to be desired. The sweet and sour dish was not like anything I had tried before and was very watery. My friend ordered the chicken sweet and sour, but it also did not taste like the traditional dish and was runny. When we expressed our disappointment to the waitress, she simply apologized and handed us the bill. To make matters worse, when our main dishes were brought to the table, the sauce spilled over onto the table and we had to clean it up ourselves. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant and do not plan on returning."

"really authentic Thai food, in the beautiful environment of a day florist, so plants and flora everywhere. the service and attention are very good, but eating is really top drawer. so delicious and very well presented, beautifully balanced dishes. we had meiang phuket (drilled garnels on cha pruu leaves) which were super, thai squid, which was very nice, som tam papaya salat, which was about as exact as any eive ever had in bangkok, and easy the best eive had in london, gai yang gorlea (married cheefs with kokosnuss and curefa it can get to do so even if they book, they may have to wait a little, and it is a little expensive also (all up (1 haupt 4 small plates,) 1 tear, cracker and 5 small beer £105,) but it was both worth the price, and have to wait outside for 15 minutes. I'll be back. if I can afford it!"

I tried the spicy box and the spicy potatoes, both of which were seasoned with a dry rub sauce that didn't quite hit the mark for me. "The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and the staff are very friendly. I have tried the vegetarian Massaman curry twice and it is fantastic. I also enjoyed the corn cake, mango basil tea, and jasmine tea. This is probably my favorite place to eat in Preston so far (I have been living here as a student for about 2 months). "We decided to celebrate my son's birthday as we have been here before. Food is nice but service is terrible. We spent an hour waiting to order our 2nd starter and being serve. In fact, myself and family is waiting whilst writing this review. Everytime you get a staff to request to order, they refer us to a lady who just appears to be overwhelmed. I could.understand that the place is busy but why just limit the ordering to one person. This is a ploy to delay the food output. As much as i try to understand, this whole experience has taken it another level of wait all you can buffet. The mere fact that they have the audacity to ask us to move our table to accommodate another guest. I will never go back to this place. SO PEOPLE, IF YOU LIKE TO WAIT FOR YOUR MEAL, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE. I would.never come.back to this place again."
