"I’ve had the Tastecard a little while now, but never got around to using it. The restaurants featured on the program are largely chain-based. Or not very good ones. So this is my first experience with that in hand. BananaTree is located in the heart of Soho making it an ideal spot to catch up with a friend from the office. The deal meant buy-one-get-one-free so we had a lot of food for not a lot. A good start. Our order consisted of the chicken wings, money bags along with our mains of the beef rendang curry and the pad thai. The fried wings are very good. Messy, sticky and lots of sauce. They offer a recipe for their tantalising wings on their website. It all looks well and good and I get excited up to a point. Then I realise, and decide it’s too many ingredients and too much work. It is one of the most popular appetisers at Banana Tree, and easy to understand why. The rendang was just above average, the meat tasted a bit dry and there wasn’t enough curry for my liking. The beef is quite chunky, and of good quality so its got that going for it. Banana Tree feels like yet another whitewashed Asian-inspired food restaurant in London. Others that come to mind: East Street and Dim T. Dishes across Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam all meld into one being rather than having each of its own elements celebrated. The first store opened a staggering twenty one years ago and now its eight stores it may have traded that authenticity with domination. The venue at Banana Tree has a nice, vibrant atmosphere and this is only completed by the size of the crowd. It’s plenty busy and a popular haunt for some of the other corporate dwellers from the looks of it. I didn’t find the find innovative but it was tasty."

"I was so surprised! From the outside it looks small, cramped and not special. However once inside it is so lovely, clean and classic. Everything is pristine and the staff are friendly. We over ordered because we planned on taking a doggy bag home, instead the food was so delicious we over ate and couldn't even make room for dessert. I am just so impressed, can't believe I waited this long to try it."

"Although the food was outstanding it is a bit over priced. The worst part of our experience was the lack of service. We were a party of two that was basically forgotten among the larger tables. We stopped three staff members to ask for more water. We never received it. After we finished our meal we sat there with all the mess and dirty plates. Had to flag down another staff member for our bill. She promptly returned and we paid out and left"

"The place has a more casual feeling that is something more authentic in view of the kitchen. Sushi very good, can enjoy 24pcs for £30, which is definitely worth it when you enjoy sushi. Sashimi really delicious. However, the most important meals felt like we had bought them in a belly Chinese farewell and served on a plate. Despite ordering various dishes, all sauces lubricated the same, similar sweet and sticky sauces. Taking into account the cost of £9-10 per plate. The waitress was also a little annoying because she would wait until we asked for a court before she told us they didn't. Not a deal breaker, but if you are missing dishes, it should be marked or listed on the menu before you start to decide what you want. Service was pretty fast, and the ambience is pretty cool. Would recommend for a casual informal meal and would avoid buying hot food as a whole."

"Great Thai in Aberdeen- so good we went there twice in a two night stay in the city. Some of the best Thai food I've had- even better, just mention any dietary requirements and most dishes can be adapted, which can be tricky in a lot of Thai restaurants. Had a tofu green curry with jasmine rice on one visit and a tofu penang on the next- both delicious and fish sauce free. Don't miss out on this restaurant!"

"Although we never went there, I ordered the food from this restaurant a few times and must say that it is always a very tasty leak in our budget. we had hangover noodles, veggie platter with tempoura veg, edemame bohnen, see weeds and some knödel and a laksa bowl. since Thai food goes, this is a very decent offer on the restaurant map of fulham, eating is tasty, servings are decent, very well packed (for home delivery) everything is fresh, even if the prices seem a tad on a high end of the spectrum (2 main dishes and 2 startes they will be around £40-45) the only disadvantage that the food did not come to hot. we will definitely order from this place in the future, so I recommend it with a clean certain"

"so happy to have found during my week stay in london halal koreas eating! I ordered the tofu seafood jjigae and beef bibimbap for me and had the most amazing meal I am a fan of Korean cuisine and eating in kinkao korea could not taste more authentic, homemade and tasty. the chef is really generous with the part of the seafood in the stew and the bibimbap had all the highlights of a stone pot bibibap! the fluffy short-grain rice was coupled with crispy pieces of burned rice (like the species as it should be and the sauce was made in the house and had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and sour. all the aromas of bibimbap came together harmoniously and it was the perfect antidote...read more"

"This is our top Thai restaurant in London. We have visited many times, and most recently celebrated my son's birthday with family. As always, the food and service were excellent. The cozy atmosphere of the small restaurant adds to the intimacy of the experience. Our friends who were new to the restaurant also loved it. Nahling offers great value and comes highly recommended."

"I recently tried a relatively new Asian fusion takeaway restaurant, and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The atmosphere is bright and modern with lovely background music playing while you wait. The restaurant is also very clean and well-maintained. I tried the honey chili chicken, which was delicious, but the menu offers a wide variety of dishes with fresh ingredients presented beautifully in takeaway boxes. This is definitely more than your average takeout place. I will definitely be returning in the future."

"Every review says the same across all different review sites – this is 100% a total scam taking people 's money and not sending orders out. Literally the worst service I have ever received from any takeaway in London. Ordered direct via their website and after an hour I called to make sure my order had been received. I was asked for my order number and postcode and told yes it had and the driver was on the way. We live 5 minutes away from them, so when it didn 't arrive in 10 minutes I called again and was told the same. I repeated that process a further two times and was told the same, and that the driver would arrive 'any second '. After an hour and a half I called again and was told the order had never been received and nothing had left the kitchen yet. Their staff lied repeatedly – tbh it sounded like the same guy on each call, including when he admitted the order had never been cooked yet. On one of the phone calls the guy even 'called the driver to see where he was '. Totally mental. I cancelled the order and will be amazed if I see a refund. This is the second time using them and the second time we 've had an issue."

"We ordered takeout from this restaurant and it arrived quickly. The food was delicious! They gave us a complimentary upgrade to fancier rice since they had run out of jasmine rice. The curries and pad Thai we ordered were excellent. We have no complaints, we are very satisfied and full."

"this is a super lunch spot, with excellent curses for only euro. (prices rise massiw to dinner, with similar/same curses costs euro, so am less of a nightly fan my lunch starter here every time is the delicious chicken satay, with the most delicious peanut sauce in the city, and tenderly leans huhn. for the main course is the hackschnalle with chopmeat (always extra-extra-spicy and rice is absolutely divine both floors of the restaurant are small, with tables close to, but it works and contributes to its excellent atmosphere, while the service is good and pleasant."

"This little gem is located on a quiet street just a stone's throw from The Meadows, a short walk from the main accommodation and teaching facilities of the University of Edinburgh, and only a 15-20 minute walk from the castle and the Royal Mile, and it's worth the wander. While its appearance from the outside is unassuming, the welcome inside is far from that, and the food is wonderful. We enjoyed a selection of delicious starters and Thai soups, followed by tasty curries, noodles, and rice, all in generous portions and served with the widest of smiles. The prices are very good, ideal for a family meal or visiting a family member studying at the university (like us). In terms of cost, the restaurant has the additional advantage of allowing you to bring your own alcohol: Gary, the owner (who runs the operation along with his partner and his excellent and friendly team) no longer sells alcohol on the premises, preferring to encourage customers to drink their own beverage (with no corkage fees), which, if needed, can be purchased at a store directly across the street from the restaurant. So, for a wonderful meal at a modest cost, Thai Laos has a plethora of options. We loved it, and will definitely be back."

"This was our first visit and we will be back. There are so many dishes we want to try. The food is fantastic, full of flavour, beautifully presented. The Tempura Prawns were beautiful, cooked perfectly with a crunchy batter coating. Thai Green Curry was very traditional with a nice balance of spice and flavour. Stir Fry was flavoursome and a good mix of chicken and vegetables. It was a very busy night with lots of delivery drivers collecting orders this is good as it shows how popular the restaurant is, but service in the restaurant was affected. It didn’t spoil our evening though."

"I still have not my head, as the name of this restaurant should be pronounced, the best I can do is kao fi ray a, but what is certain that this is a great restaurant in the wonderful granit city, the restaurant seems a renovated bank on a scale from a cathedrale to Thai food with golden exotic statues that graze several key points. the atmosphere is intoxicating far east promise and must represent a significant investment in design and execution. the service was gracious and attentive at any time of mairi. we have been on prawn tom yum and kha, pork pliersloin, duck tamarinde, kokosreis and jasminreis plus two large bottles singaha for a total cost of £66 and very good value."
