"My friend and I ate the korma, coconut rice, cheesy naan and a lamb biryani. It was all delicious and the portions were a good size. The menu had lots of choice, the restaurant had a lovely calm and peaceful family atmosphere even for a Saturday. The waitress was quite shy but the man (I assume manager) was v kind and welcoming. We will definitely come again and may even order takeaway some time. Thanks"

"I'm here twice now and that was both excellent. there is no massive vegan choice, but surely enough for a filling meal left with food left to take home. there are vegan options for appetizers, net and brot. all veg options are 2 chilis not super sharp, but a bit of a kick. my friend could ask for her food to be a bit milder so I'm sure they could do the same with these. I think they had the best saag aloo I've ever had. our only complaining was that the service was quite slow and uneven I probably waited 15 minutes to get my water, and my friend had long ago her starter through the time my came out. but it's still worth it unless you're in a hurry. I'm going to go back."

"We were greeted with papadoms and a variety of sauces including chutney, mango, pickled achaar. The large mix grill had a variety of meat with kebab, chicken, wings and lamb chops which were tasty. Tried the lamb karahi, chicken karahi and ghoust saag. All curries were flavourful with a decent amount of spice, which I enjoyed as it was a good level of spice for me personally. If you are a fan of spicy spicy food, this probably won’t hit the spot. Best naans I have ever had! Recommend opting for these. They are amazingly soft. I loved the mango lassi, sweetness to compliment my meal. Chips were over fried. Beautiful interior, clean toilets and good customer service."

"As always we found the food at this restaurant to be both excellent and extremely good value. We started with a Chicken Chat and Prawn Puri, both generous portions in well flavoured sauces. Mains included a deliciously tangy Hari-Ali chicken (a new one for me but one I'm sure I'll have again); mild, but not over-sweet Lamb Passanda and sides of Motar Panir and Garlic Naan. This may not sound like a large meal but between two of us we only just about managed to finish it. All the dishes were rich, but distinctively spiced and flavoured."

"This restaurant is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Glasgow. I have no complaints about this place at all. I have been a regular here for quite some time now."

"This place is unique, I haven't seen the same combination of churros a and ice-cream anywhere else, so I think you should give it a go! I had the loop&scoop option. The service took a bit too long, I think the kitchen was understaffed. The churro was very tasty, I didn't like the biscoff ice-cream much, but the nero one (really dark chocolate) was just perfect. I wish I could try their vegan milkshake as well. They had 6 flavours if vegan ice-cream when I visited."

"Spacious seating. Great customer service. Toilet/Washroom facilities. Prayer room. Car Parking at rear of the restaurant. Got a few sharing tawa. They contain a mix grill of Lamb chops, Chicken tikka, Lamb and Chicken Sheekh Kebabs and Chicken Wings also Lamb and Chicken Karahi (curries) with roti, naan and fries. Everything tasted delicious but the Chicken Karahi. In my opinion it tasted quite bland compared to the Lamb Karahi and is always the case as I have been here many a time. Thought I write it in the review and maybe owners will take note."

"Labels: Clapham , Curries , Restaurants cheap eats , Restaurants London I haven't blogged in so, SO long. Our (wonderful) trip to the other side of the world semi bankrupted me and therefore meals out have been somewhat scarce. But, I'm now back in the land of the living, spending my pay cheque on day one and back into eating out again...I have missed it, hugely! A couple of weeks ago we stumbled into Zumbura in Clapham Old Town. A sort of Indian tapas joint set in informal surroundings and, in this case, choca block on a Tuesday evening. We luckily bagged a pew at the carved out bar counter and perused the menu with watering mouths. About ten minutes later we had decided on our 6...read more"

"We booked our table a week in advance for 5 adults and our 10month old baby. The booking was for 5.30pm on a Sunday, thinking that we would have some dinner and get back home around 7.30pm, on time for our baby’s bath time. How wrong we were! We waited for our food for 1 hour and 50 minutes! (Yes. Nearly 2 hours!!! When I went to ask why it was taking so long, (considering that there were maybe 5-6 tables with people in the whole restaurant the waitress behind the bar said that they were very busy with all their takeaway orders. Well, that was terrible customer service. So if you turn up to have a sit in meal, you come second! Takeaway orders have priority! Well, it doesn’t say this anywhere! I am not keen to return."

"This was going to be our third visit to the Bishops Waltham Tandoori as the food on the previous two occasions had been good. I booked this time for a surprise mothers date treat for my wife from our children. I booked this on 2 3 16 for a 2:30pm sitting as advertised as available on the open table website and received my confirmation e mail. The owner manager Mohammed telephoned my home on the 4 3 16 and proceeded to tell my wife that they could not honour the reservation as their kitchen was going to shut at 2pm! Firstly letting the secret out the bag and secondly leaving me with no hope of getting a reservation two days before the day anywhere else! When I returned from work that evening and my wife told me I immediately contacted the restaurant to find out what was going on and was told that if we wanted to go the latest they could accommodate us was 1:00pm. This was completely unacceptable for me as I did not finish work until 1:00pm on the 6th. Not once during the call did the person apologise and I've got to admit I was completely dissatisfied and flabbergasted with the way we were treated. Firstly, if the restaurant was not due to be open at that time then why was it advertising it on the open table restaurant. Secondly, once taking a booking and sending confirmation of such I find it completely unacceptable they did not honour it. Thirdly, not to even apologise showed me what our custom meant to them, absolutely nothing. I am also disappointed in open table as I also logged a complaint with the open table team but as yet have not had a response. Obviously we don't really matter. We've been disgusted with the whole experience and although Open table has offered very good service up till this point and apart from not responding to our complaint, the management at the restaurant really need to consider some changes if they value their customer satisfaction and repeat business."

"I will not recommend this restaurant to any INDIANS and to be honest, to anyone. The one star review are not lying. We ordered a paneer sabji and it was so sour that it was unbearable, when we told them they just added water in it and removed half of the gravy. Then we order pulao and it was very oily and felt like they were uncooked that was the time I realised that the food they serve is just ready to eat meals heated up. Don’t eat Indian food here it is just a waste of money instead just enjoy local food"

"excellent Indian food. so delicious! we asked the waiter after his menu suggestions for 2 and we enjoyed everything. Too bad we couldn't eat anymore! make sure to get to this restaurant, even if it is from the main road where all others are. this is worth the few more steps."
