"not as hygienic as I would expect especially during Kovid times. we had problems with two things (I usually never sent food again) but one of the waiting workers was great in apologizing and treating the problems. the eating itself was a mix, felt a bit like a restaurant that tried to beat over its weight and really did not ask up to the trips."

"Good food, good service... great local restaurant that has got better I have been going for years. The Sunday roasts are good and the vegetarian Wellington was an excellent option for my vegetarian guest. The only thing I would improve is the front door! I hope the management finds a way of stopping the wind blowing in when a customer opens the door. For that reason, I sit at the end furthest away when I can."

"My husband, puppy, and I enjoyed a wonderful midweek getaway to celebrate our puppy's first birthday. The hotel's well-maintained grounds were perfect for our puppy to run around, and its secluded location away from main roads made for a quiet stay. The hotel is very dog-friendly, with several other visitors also bringing their furry friends. There was only a £10 extra charge per night for our puppy to stay with us in the room. The rooms were comfortable and clean, as were the other areas of the hotel. The service was friendly, and the hotel had a well-stocked bar. Breakfast was delicious and included in the room cost. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodations in the area. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, with beds that felt like sleeping on pillows. The hotel's bar was well stocked, and the breakfast options were great. Unfortunately, the restaurant at the hotel had closed down."

"I had never visited this venue before and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. It was so beautifully presented and delicious. The friend I was with, and I had 2 starters each instead of a main course I loved the soft shell crab tempura and then the eggs Benedict with Parma ham. Steve, the chef told me how to poach an egg the way he had done. I have yet to try it but he made it sound simple. We would definitely go again."

"Some years back before visiting the theatre we had a delicious mackerel dish here, and were looking forward to a fish and chips lunch. Sadly disappointing, dry fish, dry chips, even dry 'crushed ' peas. Perhaps if we 'd chosen a different dish, but if they can 't do proper fish and chips......... Staff didn 't engage with the customers. Cannot recommend."

"What a nightmare. I can only say that our dining experience was nothing for Proud to be Proud of, it was the WORST dining experience that we have ever experienced. First off the lady didn't even know where to sit us and left us standing in the middle of the restaurant for a little bit, then she hastily stuck us on the end of a table with nothing laid out, no glasses no cutlery, such a bad welcome. "We had a fantastic experience! The potatoes were outstanding, and the prawns were just incredible. The selection of wine and cocktails was also excellent. If I had to be very picky, I would suggest not serving tomatoes that are out of season, as they aren't nearly as flavorful as the in-season ones. The burrata dish could be enhanced with other seasonal vegetables, like beetroot, or maybe a tomato-based jam or sauce. As for the Korean chicken, while it was delicious, using thigh meat could take it to the next level, and a slightly crunchier batter would improve it even more. Both squash dishes might benefit from a bit more caramelization on the squash. However, these are just minor details—we truly had a wonderful time!"

"So this is a mix bag review, ultimately though we had a good fun night ! Original show was booked for Friday 19th but arrived after travelling and getting accommodation to find the venue closed . Double checking all our confirmation we were confused as to wtf was going on. Banged a few doors and a lady in management said no show tonight but we could come back tomorrow. Now we couldn't all make the next night and we didn't receive confirmation like we were supposed to and we couldn't get through on the phone . In the end via live chat we were sent new tickets and hoped for the best . We were upgraded from our original tickets and the staff were lovely. The acts were fun , light-hearted and tongue in cheek . Dolly is a fab host with the most impressive assets we had a fun night in the end but being one person short and uncertain how things would go did take the shine off ."

"its the third time I have been to the forge and previously I have to say the service was good and the food excellent, unfortunately on Saturday the service from the kitchen was very poor. we waited 15 minutes to get a menu and it took nearly 40 mins to receive our starter. the main meal was also 30-40 mins from order. which ruined our evening. we did highlight this to the manager who couldn't have been any more apologetic and even gave us our wine for free- this didn't really help as I'm more than happy to pay full price for my meal as long as we receive a decent service. fully appreciate there may have been extenuating circumstances around this issue but we went out to celebrate a happy occasion with me and my wife and it was pretty much spoilt which is a real shame."

"Fantastic location but some terrible customer service. We arrived on Friday evening after having requested a restaurant booking for 8:30. Our train was delayed and at 8:15 we called the hotel to ask if our table could be pushed back to 8:45 but were told the restaurant was closing at 8:30. I mentioned the restaurant reservation but they said it was a mixup and that was for breakfast in the morning until then I admit I had not ever experienced any hotel taking timed bookings for breakfast. I explained we had come from London and it was a Friday evening, could they not offer us any food? The man on the phone said they could offer 'some biscuits '. Said there was nothing else open anywhere close and that they had this problem a lot. Perhaps then devise a solution for your customers given arriving at 8:45 on a Friday after a long journey is a fairly normal occurrence? Rooms: 3 Service: 1 Location: 5"

"Wow!!! I really enjoyed my evening at this restaurant. The food was show stopping both the presentation and the flavours were immaculate. I especially loved the buffalo chicken bites (listed as a snack on the menu, but still a really generous portion! and the BBQ hispi cabbage, but also enjoyed the gazpacho starter and delicious apple cucumber mocktail, which used homegrown produce The real star of the evening was the service the staff here are very special. Nothing was too much trouble, they always seemed to be on hand the moment you needed something, and were all incredibly knowledgable about the menu. Five stars just for that! The St Enodoc Hotel is a calming, beautiful space, with a classy yet chilled out atmosphere.
