"My husband and I have been to The Painted Heron which is now called TPH not sure why the name was changed as the original is very nice many times. "Love this restaurant took my son there for his birthday the staff came out with a cake and sang happy birthday. It was lovely to sit in the garden looking towards the restaurant but it looks like a bit of a building site as there are working on the garden. But the staff and food are amazing I always recommend this place to my friends and look forward to seeing the garden finished"

"The best Indian takeaway in Brighton I've had. They have plenty of gluten free options and the food tastes amazing. We got chicken bhuna and Shahi chef special lamb curry both were the best I've tasted. The onion bhaji also tasted great and they give you three rather large ones for one portion. Overall great service, they gave us free basmati rice and poppadoms, and the chicken bhuna came with a free onion salad. The food arrived hot which is rare for us as we are relatively far out from Brighton centre. Will definitely order from here again."

"I have had Afternoon Tea at Spice Merchant in Cookham on a couple of occasions and very much enjoyed the experience. However, Henley was an entirely different kettle of fish. We had both veg and meat versions and much of what was offered on the menu was not present, with no alternatives being offered. NO ginger potatoes. NO pakoras. NO scones. NO selection of teas. Vegetable wrap was filled with paneer, not vegetables; an issue since two other dishes were already paneer. Orange and chocolate cake was dry and hard. Peas in samosa filling were undercooked and hard. I took friends especially for the experience and frankly, it was was an embarrassment."

"I chose Everest Tandoori to organise a private buffet for a small get together of 40 people. Starting from the beginning, booking process was very smooth and easy. Staff were very approachable and friendly. On the day, food served was authentic Nepali and on time. The staff (especially Maya didi) there went out of their way to actually play the role of a host on our behalf and helped us all including guests feel like home. They also allowed us to run some of our private rituals as well. Overall, my experience has been excellent and price was exceptionally good value for money."

"Honestly the fish and chips was nice but the order was wrong twice! Ordered honey krona with pilau rice the first time the driver came he gave me the curry but no rice I got chips and cheese instead then when we phoned and told them about the mix up they sent me plain rice. By the time the rice got here my korma was cold."

The food was delicious great taste, quality, presentation and good portion sizes. The location of the restaurant is on the high street and it is huge inside with seating in the back garden area too. "We were all a little sceptical about choosing this month's venue for our monthly dining trip, but have to say we were not disappointed. Hospitality was very good, they were accommodating when we asked to switch from a booth table to a more open table. Each course was enjoyable, and just enough time between courses. They catered for the odd amendments to the mains, and served us up some good flavoursome dishes. Would recommend again and again. After working in Lye for over 35 years and seeing the demise of so many good Indian restaurants, Malik's has certainly made me want to go back for more. Well done guys."

"We were forced to consider another restaurant for our stay near Heathrow when we found our normal haunt was shut. On the strength of several other reviews we thought we'd give Shahee Mahal a go. The decor is pleasant, the service outstanding and the food is very good. The icing on the cake is that it represents one of the best value restaurants we've ever been to. The deal we had (available Mon, Tue and Wed) at £11.95 for starter, main, rice, side dish and a beer is unbeatable! I'll be back there again next week."

"the worst customer service I've ever seen. we did not get our drinks after 1.5 hours. we remembered the waiter, but no drinks also afterwards! the food was cold and we had to look for the waiter of the minute in which we were paid until the time we were paying the bill. there were many irate customers and the waiter ran from one table to another participant, especially the tables were customers to increase their vote. what a shame and what a shame!"

"The service is based on drinks as this was a buffetbooked this restaurant for a curry as it was the only one left on valentines night. Turned up and it was a buffet which was a shock as my girlfriend is gluten free.
