Creamy, silky Italian dessert with a hint of vanilla, topped with berry coulis or fresh fruit.

"Had afternoon tea at the castle. Beautiful setting, delicious food, the only draw back was the lack of attention of the waiting staff! The young lad who was usually behind the counter and alone was too busy looking at his phone, we all know that stance they take when pretending not to be looking at it! Needed a few more senior members to be keeping a closer eye on the kids. As a place like Amberley you'd expect them to be on high alert to the customer, one look and they are there. One group of ladies even had to get up and go and demand their attention. Would have got 5 stars if the staff were better. Service: 4 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic"

"Delightful experience in a lovely space with attentive staff. The salmon starter for lunch was good but the black pudding was excellent: balanced, rich flavours and textures, all very skilfully presented. The vegetables with the mains were especially well thought out and executed the venison and ox cheek superb, tender with a real depth of flavour. The cod gratin main was luminous and the warm vegetarian option of the beetroot with greens and a goat cheese mousse with toasted almonds was a particular joy. Very good chocolate tart with stewed pear, ice cream on a crumb. This was a great combination of flavours and textures, though my preference would have been for more of a ganache than a mousse consistency. There is so much attention to detail in every element of the meal, down to the type of pastry chosen for the case of the chocolate tart. Excellent for a special occasion. If you’re on a budget, go for lunch rather than dinner as it is (very rightly) expensive."

"Aubaine is by far the best place for you to catch up over good food, nice service and enjoyable ambience, especially the branch located at High str Kensington. We were welcomed warmly and directed to a seat next to the window paving to the street view. I ordered a croque monsieur which was divine (could've gone for a second one..but calories!! and some tea. The service was impeccable, the clientele posh and the ambience enjoyable. I would recommend this french restaurant for anyone in the neighborhood (even Aubaine in any other part of London . Can't wait to try out some of the other yummy dishes on their menu. Very much recommended!"

"Revisited old firm favourite after COVID enforced break. Atmosphere and decor still great but service completely off. Welcome very mediocre. Food service shockingly slow. Arrived at ordered promptly, anti-pasta served after mins wait. Mains didn't turn up until after (having had to...chase twice). One of my guests had to leave promptly at (not unreasonable for a lunch) which led to a rushed finish. Worst of all, the waiter filled our wine glasses to the brim, finished the bottle and then immediately asked if we wanted another. Crass in the extreme. I might expect that at Spoons, but not Daphne's. To top it all off, my mushroom risotto (normally a reliable stalwart) was quite bland. Come on Daphne's, you need to do better."

"usually difficult to get a table short time, but we had practically the whole restaurant to ourselves around 19 clock on Thursday. this was due to the fact that the local hotel occupancy rates were strongly depressed and the people of home working due to covid 19. this empty, there was atmosphere missing but service excellent. good choice of all courses and I especially enjoyed the Oktopus starter. grilled cod main course cooked to perfection with large damp flocks of fish. criminality brûlée with rhabarb and coffee finish. a good choice of crying, but the brandup is exaggerated."

"this is a beautiful restaurant, rather similar to a raised French brasserie. there is a sitting area outside. there is a separate vegetarian/vegan menu and I ordered from it. I loved eating that I had. it was easy, but delicious. for the starter I had a pea and nice suppe, then for a main course I had the baked miso aubergine. as dessert I ordered the mandel panna cotta. the service was good, although our waiter was sometimes somewhat abrupt. all the others were very friendly. this place changes their menu depending on the season, so hopefully they will also contain some new vegan options in the future. pricely, it was not too bad, but it is the kind of place where she would probably go for a contract."

"Out and about on a lunchtime constitutional along Portobello Road last week something interesting caught my eye. Set back from the road, hiding behind vintage clothes in the arcade, was an alluringly attractive Italian restaurant. On my own, without reading material and in a hurry to get back to work, I had no intention of sitting down to eat but I was compelled to go in and investigate. I glanced at the menu and clientele, was charmed by the decor of hanging dried meat and flowers, and decided I would return imminently.<br/ <br/ Thankfully an opportunity arose this week. I had taken it upon myself to arrange a lunch for myself and nine colleagues, and presented them with an option of four restaurants (secretly hoping that democracy would work in my favour). At first, take-up was slow as the more adventurous-sounding alternatives were far more popular, but risk aversion gradually set in and the simple Italian became the winner; a culinary hare and tortoise situation, if you will.<br/ <br/ “What if they don’t cater for big groups? What if it’s awful and I’m forever ridiculed for my restaurant choice?” Such questions were running through my mind, distracting me from my morning tasks.<br/ <br/ An amiable Italian gentleman saw the first sub-group and exclaimed “group of ten, this way please!” so we followed orders and went inside to our long table, immediately looking above us at the conservatory style ceiling and feeling as though we had walked into a Tuscan summer.<br/ <br/ Our charismatic waitress brought over an alternative to a complementary bread basket; a plate of amuse-bouche sized pieces of courgette frittata served on a forest of rocket. I was very impressed by this. They have foreseen that I’m going to be ravenous, having not eaten since my 11:00 AM apple; that I may not wish to bloat up on bread; that I enjoy being surprised, which I most certainly was. I had only been there ten short minutes and these people already knew how to please me more than some people who have known me for decades. If that isn’t customer service, I really don’t know what is. <br/ <br/ The menu is slightly unusual in that there isn’t the usual long list of pizzas and pastas to choose from, instead there were a couple of al forno dishes (baked in the oven), several paninis (with pizza bread), and a list of specials, a few of which were mains. I took from this that a decision had been made to offer a limited number of dishes, but to do them well.<br/ <br/ I had top-notch, considerably portioned gnocchi with bolognese sauce for £11.50, served whilst the tomato sauce was still bubbling from the oven, with fresh basil scattered on top.<br/ <br/ To make the experience even more superior, they should consider investing in a second credit card machine to take two payments simultaneously since this was a bit slow.<br/ <br/ I was really fond of this restaurant and highly recommend it. Now I just need to think up another reason to go back next week.."

"Saporitalia is set to be a hit with its large, unpretentious and authentic pizzas Booking a table at the last minute in London is challenging at the best of times. Trying to secure a spot for nine people on a Friday evening at a new and already well-reviewed restaurant on fashionable Portobello Road would seem to be a fool’s errand. You can imagine our surprise, then, that this turned out not to be the case at Saporitalia whose easy-going staff informed us that seating our group that evening would be no problem at all. Although we eventually arrived almost an hour late we were warmly welcomed and waved thorough to our table at the back. Almost as soon as we sat down small plates of...read more"

"We reserved a table for two at this restaurant. The ambience and location were beautiful. However, we found the prices to be too high. The Sunday roast menu promised a variety of meats, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and other accompaniments, but we were disappointed to receive a small portion of meat, two undercooked potatoes, and one carrot. Additionally, we ordered bread and olives as a starter, but were only served six olives. We noticed that another table of two, who had also ordered olives, received a larger portion. The restaurant also adds a service charge to the bill. On a positive note, they were able to accommodate our request for a table that could fit a pram. Overall, I am unlikely to return to this restaurant due to the high prices, lack of flavor, inconsistent service, and poor food quality."

"I booked this restaurant for my partners birthday. I read the reviews and thought it would be romantic to have a sea view while dining, this was acknowledged and we had a window seat. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly waitress who seated us by the window, it was a bit breezy as its quite open, but luckily it was a very warm evening. For starters, my partner ordered the duck breast, while I opted for the cured salmon, both arrived nicely presented on the plate and tasted delicious. For mains I ordered the Miso Cauliflower Steak and my partner opted for the Cod Loin, both were delicious too. We were full so we didn't opt for a dessert, the one thing I was disappointed about was the fact that I did make it clear on the booking that it was my partners birthday that day, and a gentleman confirmed my name and booking when we sat down, but there was no small gesture for my partners birthday, even just wishing him happy birthday would of been nice. Overall we had a good experience, and spent just an hour for starters and mains, if I could suggest any improvements, then it would be to make the ambience a bit more appealing and a small gesture to anyone celebrating a special day. We will be back at some point to try the Sunday Roast as it has great reviews."

"The venue itself is beautiful. Really lovely pub as so many are in Bath. Unfortunately the reception we had from the girl on the bar downstairs was unfriendly, boarding on rude. Had to wait for our table which was 20 mins late, which I understand on a busy Sunday is often the case not easy to turn the tables. Roast dinners were okay, nice Yorkshire pudding which came regardless of what meat you ordered which is a nice touch. We ordered the extra potatoes at nearly £5 which was a little pricey. Out of 5 puddings, only 2 were available. Again they were fine but nothing more than that. For two people, both having two courses and a pint and a half of Pepsi each nearly £90 stung a bit."

"I came in for a meal with my god-daughter who has just moved to Guildford. Olivo is a good restaurant and I have eaten here before so I felt it was a good choice for her first dining experience in Guildford. I was pleased that we had a nice evening. We shared a starter and then both had mains and coffee. The food was excellent as ever. Very nice service as ever from very professional cheerful and attentive staff. Very reasonable too. It was a good sign that the restaurant was busy on a cold dark Thursday in early January. I definitely recommend Olivo and will come again."

"Table was great, large glass area overlooking the walk down to the Cathedral. I loved what was on the menu, although I think it may have been a bit fish heavy for my friend. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Food was excellent and portions were good. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My only gripe was that none of my choices were on the menu of the day!"

"We arrived a few minutes before our 13:00 lunch reservation for 2 and waited by the door for someone to help us. After 5 minutes, I asked a waitress for assistance but she said she didn't speak English and would call the manager. Despite the manager noticing us from the bar area, we waited for another 5 minutes with no acknowledgment. As we waited, I witnessed an argument between the manager and a customer over a bill. It was clear that many tables had finished their meals and were becoming impatient with the lack of efficient service. One customer even warned me to think twice about eating there before leaving. The restaurant had a bad smell, likely from improper cleaning, and we were happy to leave without experiencing more."

"Sadly I wasn’t able to give this venue 5 stars due to one key element lack of staffing! Being a Bank Holiday Monday I deliberately booked a later time slot (2.45pm) we arrived earlier and were chilled when we had to wait a little longer for our table booking. It was evident that they were understaffed, with the continual issue of having to keep asking for water, condiments and more drinks. This said, the two key team members (non management) were clearly doing their very best to attend to us and other guests within the conservatory, all with a lovely manner but over run with guest hospitality basics. The set menu offering was great and we loved the dishes. Gordon Ramsey Holdings Ltd (HR Recruitment) seriously need to look at this obvious lack of staffing issues given the prestige of the branding and enticing your guests to return and leave 5 star reviews!"

"We met close family to celebrate or 50th wedding anniversary, and can honestly say this was the best afternoon tea we have ever had. From the minute we opened the door till we left we found the staff extremely attentive and very friendly. The food was outstanding, the surroundings superb and the whole ambiance of the Drawing Room was perfect. A totally delightful afternoon. As we live in the north of Scotland, it will probably be a while before we are back in London, but when we are The Drawing Room at Browns is a must. Thank you for making our celebration such a success"

"Our visit didn’t start out so well as we struggled to find the entrance! Some better signage would be good, especially as the doors aren’t marked and look more like a goods entrance! We were seated right opposite one set of doors and since they were automated we were blasted with cold air for a while each time someone came in or left. We thought it wasn’t worth asking to move since it was busy and now where better to put us, and that things would settle once the lunch covers were all in, but then people started cutting through to use the restaurant as a short cut to get into the hotel! This just spoiled the ambience for us as we were cold and ended up watching the door. The staff were however lovely and the food and drinks great. I realised afterwards that my main was listed on the menu (in its title) as having walnuts with it, but I didn’t get any with my dish so that was a shame (I’d have mentioned if I’d realised at the time). The Jerusalem artichoke soup, ricotta and truffle ravioli, and olive oil martini were our highlights, and we’d recommend."

"The staff at Amerigo is incredibly friendly and helpful, as well as efficient. The food was delicious, especially the lamb chops which were the best I've ever had. The portions are generous. We were so impressed with our dinner that we decided to return the next night."

"We made a reservation online for 6:30 pm on Saturday, April 27th and arrived promptly. The service was satisfactory and the food was alright, although there was a delay in serving the main course. When we requested a dessert menu, along with another prosecco and glass of wine, they promptly brought us the drinks but did not provide the menu until we asked a different staff member. After paying the bill and sitting and chatting, at 8:05 pm the waitress abruptly told us that she needed the table back immediately, even though my wife had not finished her drink. We were surprised by this, as no one had informed us of a time limit on the table when we arrived or made the reservation online. Despite other customers still present who had arrived before us, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, there was no staff member available to address our concerns about the time limit. We submitted a complaint through 'Opentable' later on, but have not received a response over a week later. We are disappointed with the treatment we received and will not be returning to Da Vinci, nor will we recommend it to others until we receive an explanation for the poor service."
