"For a brunch spot, it can be challenging to find a decent coffee to kickstart the day, as many local eateries in Seahouses do not offer milk alternatives. However, this particular establishment has really friendly staff, follows safe precautions, and provides baby changing facilities. We sat at a small table for two and ordered a flat white with milk, a breakfast tea with milk, two vegan wraps, and a vegan Oreo brownie. The coffee was quite sweet, so we had to order another one. The wraps were tasty and so was the brownie, but these were the only vegan options available, which made us feel limited in our choices. We would consider visiting again and recommend it if they can find a place in Bamburgh that offers better coffee options."

"We were at Portsmouth University's Open Day and after 3 hours of talks and campus tours in the driving rain were desperate for a coffee and some nourishment and what a find Andre's is. We both had the soup of the day which was Tomato and Basil so fresh and full of flavour you knew it really was homemade and we shared a Bacon and Emmental toasted bagel which was so good we stopped on the way home and bought some emmental cheese to have at home. The cafe is surrounded and practically hidden from view by all the chains like Subway so please walk past these and support a local family business. You won't be disappointed!"

"Mama Lan is my default choice for lunch when in the office (it's just around the corner) serving handmade dumplings, noodle soups and street snacks from the heart of Beijing. A mixture of communal tables and a couple for two, the venue is intimate and simple. There's usually one member of staff taking orders and delivering the food there's no sight of the kitchen. I suspect it's on a different floor. All the dishes here are generous, fresh and very appetising. My regular dish is the spicy ribbon tofu with pickles ban mein it's full of flavour and wonderfully savoury. I've had the dumplings and wings here too, both also very good. I've had the beef noodle soup on two occasions my first experience was outstanding, a real depth to the stock. The second time was a little underwhelming lots of heat but not enough flavour. I suspect this is down to who happens to be in the kitchen that day. You can't make a reservation and I've only ever eaten there for lunch I suspect it gets quite busy in the evenings where a queue might be experienced along with the need to share a table. I say, embrace it. They also only accept cash."

"We’ve been to Queensway a number of times and although it seems an untidy pub and a little tired, the food has always been good. Unfortunately, tonight the food was not very good. We were a family party of 9. We were told we could order a Christmas dinner on arrival but it was not available. We were told there was no gammon so not a full mixed grill which was my husbands choice and the gammon meal off for the same reason. There was no coleslaw, no lettuce and no cucumber. This seems totally disorganised given the time of year and a full pub. The meals were not great! My 12oz steak was dry (my husband cooks much better steak at home) and very tough and a small portion of chips accompanied it even though the menu said a larger portion. My sister in law s steak looked very dry too. I’m afraid our next family get together won’t be at this pub. I booked the meal and feel responsible for the family’s disappointment!"

"The food at this restaurant is incredible, especially the paninis which are absolutely delicious. The service is efficient and perfect for take out. This spot is ideal for a lunch time meal, with prices ranging from £10 to £20 per person."

"A cute little cafe overlooking the harbor and a short walk from the main street. Obviously popular with the locals and we were fortunate to get a table since we did not book. Nice food at a reasonable price and very friendly and happy staff. The dessert bars were amazing and lots to choose from. We enjoyed a harbor walk after our lunch. A pleasant lunch and lovely little excursion to Tayport."

"Really impressed with the food really tasty and big portions , but the service was really poor. Not a single smile from the lady serving us the whole time we were there. We had a pram with us and so asked if it would be better if we sat in the back corner table we were trying to be helpful and make sure the pram didn 't get in the way of staff/other customers in the middle of the cafe and she looked furious and said 'well you 'll have to wait for me to clean it then '. I politely explained to her we were trying to be helpful and she just scowled. After she left my toddler nervously told me 'Mummy that lady isn 't very nice... ' When my partner went to order we weren 't sure if it was table service she snapped at him that he needed to go back to the table and wait. If we hadn 't all been starving we 'd have left then! Hoping it was a one off as the other staff seemed lovely and the food was delicious. But it really spoiled our experience: not sure if we 'll come back..."

"Popped in for just a coffee and ended up having the full cooked breakfast with the best mug of tea EVER. Just how I asked for it. The cooked breakfast was smashing and I'm now very full up. Hubby had the healthier option of porage, orange juice with toast and marmalade. It's a cafe/bar/small venue and shop all in one, really quirky and will most definitely come again. Highly recommend this wee place to anyone visiting Cardigan. It's right down the bottom by the river and on the Right."

"Homemade, cooked baked to PERFECTION! Beautiful and immaculate courtyard tea shop, with a friendly community feel and even a little bowl for our furry friends. Our choice was to share a …to die for, comforting Halloumi and honey sourdough toastie, which oozed flavour.. (a warmed through) haddock quiche accompanied by freshly prepared green bean salad. Washed down with a latte, coffee and chocolate milkshake. We couldn’t get enough and spoilt for choice we settled for a banana caramel layer cake ginger cake with caramel icing, topped with mini homemade meringues made the perfect dessert to finish our visit. Friendly, attentive staff! We will definitely be back and counting another toastie off the list of mouthwatering flavours- perfect autumnal/winter warmer! "

"Over the years have had many family events of 25+ people. Price has gone up by a huge amount while the quality of food has dropped significantly. Price now £17 for adults and £10 kids. Fried fish is soft like farmed/River fish unlike flaky sea first. Nihari not like before. Sikh kebab were initially cold and dry. Very limited deserts including no gulab jamun. To make matters worse only had one flavour of ice cream. Customer service is apalling as have to keep asking for ice and they begrudgingly bring a little bit each time. Very uninterested and reluctant! No smiles! Lady organising tables asked us not to wait in the waiting area and instead bring everyone in despite food not being fully ready! Gave some flimsy excuse that people might think it's a wedding and not come in. Unruly children shouting aggressively but not managed by parents nor staff. Lighting has many bulbs not working or with temperamental flickering. As a result of the above negative experiences despite being repeat customers we have decided to go elsewhere in future. Best wishes!"

"Went in for a spot of dinner. Ordered the mix it up Tuesday. Half a chicken, chips and salad with a lovely Caribbean sauce. The wife had half a chicken, chips and sweetcorn with texas bbq sauce. The chicken was cooked to perfection. All in all well worth the money. Recommend to all. Table 17 would like to say thank you !!!!!"

"STAY AWAY IF ITS A SATURDAY AND DORY HAS JUST A LOAD OF TEENAGE BOYS IN. Been eating at dory’s since it opened. Quite rightly the praise for one of the best sandwich shops in the city centre (how hard can that be just make decent butties and don’t charge the earth for them) Now if you go in the week, you’ll see the regular staff and the well oiled machine running like the orient express. Slick, well made and good portions. However step in on a Saturday when it seems like every kid under 16 needing a work placement has turned up to try and make a sandwich is on shift with Dory himself bumbling round like a rude owner (grunts while politely asked if he had any pickles) Stepped in potato ordered cold and stale potentially from earlier in the week, defo not fresh. Lad fingered the jacket like a pre pubescent Wally, now normally the portions are really decent, this lad spooned his way round the tub like it was caviar… get it on there lad it’s coronation chicken, not some fancy tripe that needs carefully measuring against cost Now as I say in the week totally different, maybe it was today, maybe it’s the Saturday crew, maybe maybe maybe… anyways sad times! Suddenly felt very over priced and under quality as per its usual game! A meal deal at the co op when all that’s left on the shelf is a prawn butty would have been better than this lunch."
