"My son and I, aged 12, decided to treat ourselves before he started high school. We made a reservation online, which was straightforward. Upon arrival, the restaurant was not busy, but we had to wait for over 5 minutes before we were assisted by a young lady. She was not impolite, but she didn't seem very cheerful either. Fortunately, a different server took care of us during our meal. He was friendly, made great recommendations, and provided efficient service. The food was delicious - my son thoroughly enjoyed his salmon with teriyaki sauce, giving it a 5-star rating. My duck was cooked to medium and was tasty, although slightly chewy. We had a few glasses of wine, and the total bill came to just under £90 for the both of us. In my opinion, it was a bit on the expensive side, but it was a nice treat for a special occasion."

"When we first walked in our expectations were high the place was beautiful and looked promising we were promptly told we only had 10 mins to order due to it being late so we quickly chose our dishes and than waited 45 min for our food. The food was ... to put it lightly not good . I ordered beef with chili sauce what I got was boiled beef swimming in oil water and chili it had no taste and was not good at all. My husband got the steak with honey sauce (I can't remember the names exactly and it tasted good but his portion was so small a toddler could eat it. We also got spring rolls that were so dry and tasteless a part of me feels because we came and hour before closing they rushed our food and that's why it was so bad but i won't be going back to find out"

"We visited before Xmas and had a horrible experience. There was no chow mein or a similar style dish in the menu but the staff suggested mixed meet noodles which were also not in the menu. We got a small bowl od dry noodles each and we had to ask for a sauce on the side. It wasn 't nice meal. When our bill arrived, we noticed that 10% service charge was added to our bill. We 're a family of 3: 2 adults and 1 child. When we questioned the service charge, waiting staff called a supervisor or manager. She was rude and told us that all restaurants add service charge, except pizza places which is not true. At the end, the service charge was taken out of our bill but we were forced the leave the tip. Also, this restaurant is expensive for what it is, especially beer. We will not visit again and I wouldn 't recommend this place, unless you want a rude manager to ruin your night out."

"STAY AWAY!!. It is very unlike me to leave a review but with the amount of stress Wai put me through. I most certainly don’t want this to happen to any other bride. It took Wai almost 2 months to get us a quote, and every time he said he would call back he never did. Throughout the year, we did everything he required from us. We discussed the menu, did the tasting and he set up a meeting with us at the venue to run through the final details where he did not even show up. Wai said he will go to the venue himself on another day to make up for it and will call at the same time to run through the final details instead but never called. Bear in mind we are now in January and still had not heard from him. Eventually I had to contact him again for an update where Wai told me everything went smooth at the venue and quote, “everything was all set to go.” I mentioned about amending the quote as numbers of guests changed and he said that we will have a final meeting 2 weeks prior to the wedding, and if I had any questions in between to contact him. So at this point you would think you can relax now until then as he assured everything is sorted. WRONG! Given he’s track record I decided to contact Wai earlier to book our final meeting which is where he told me that I was not booked with him and that he had another wedding booked now the day before mine?! He tried to blame me that he had not heard from me for a while so assumed I did not want to use he’s services. (Even though the proof is in our texts him telling me everything was set and we would talk again 2 weeks before the wedding) Makes absolutely no sense! Told him that he needed to refer back to our messages of what HE said. And instead of admitting he’s wrong, he would blame me instead. So after a whole year of planning, Wai had completely wasted our time with less than 1 month away from my wedding! I managed to find another caterer and found out this is not the first time Wai has done this to as my new caterer were having to also cater for another couple that Wai had messed up on. I also found out after through a mutual friend that Wai actually catered for a wedding in the past where mains did not come out till 10pm and again the couple being blamed for things rather taking responsibility. Finding a Chinese caterer for our wedding was difficult but it’s not worth the stress and him potentially not even turn up to your wedding seeing how forgetful he is and then blame you."

"Just back from my lunch. I read some reviews and initially thought some people were very hard to please given the number of very good reviews written, the restaurant was established over 50 years ago, so clearly in my head, must have been doing something right!. However now fully understand where these dissatisfied customers are coming from. I eat often in restaurants -lunch and dinner, what can I say. This is probably the worst meal I've eaten, the worst service ever and given the restaurant has been here well over 50 years, quite shocked at the calibre of the food and service which was zero!. On entering the restaurant we bumped into a guy on the stairs, who we thought was a customer. . He mentioned he was going out for a cigarette, entering the restaurant we wondered if there was any staff at all, no welcome whatsoever . To our horror the guy on the stairs was the guy who served us, totally unprofessional, extremely casual and not smart at all to be a waiter. He never said a word or offered any service at all. No simple thank you or any word was uttered, basically the food was dumped on the table! The meal, absolutely awful and the not of the standard from many years ago, when I used to go to the Rendezvous. Totally disappointed as our lunch was for a special occasion. Do these restaurants learn anything from these reviews, I'm not so sure. The meal was overpriced and definitely not value for money at £14.99. We certainly won't be returning!"

"I had a wonderful dining experience at a restaurant in Maynooth, located above McMahon's bar. The decor is beautiful and stylish, and the staff were very friendly. "Went as a group of 8 for a family meal when we had visitors. Service was great, we asked for some recommendations for non spicy kid friendly dishes and there were lots. The kids ate well, as did the adults! Food was cooked to order, was all fresh and excellent. Visitors were impressed (especially after having a substandard meal in Chinatown earlier that day). Highlight dish was the recommended fish slices with pickled mustard and vermicelli which came in a large soup bowl for sharing. Tangy, sour, spicy (fresh ginger) yet gentle and comforting. The menu is well worth exploring further on our next visit!"

"We were seated by the window which was lovely and seen to within minutes but my only remark would be it was very rushed so you never had time to enjoy every course before the next one was out infront of you. "my own and my partner came to visit nc on the 30th juni I am unbearable both for gluten and soy, and had no Chinese food in the longest time. I had heard a lot of that she was fantastic for gluten-free, but I was really worried about my soy problems. they were absolutely out of this world, the personal was so knowledgeable and left me completely loose, and I could eat all my favorite Chinese dishes that tasted just as well if not better than I remember. they are amazing. I wish I would live closer so that I could visit every weekend! and my friend who can eat anything really enjoyed it. fantastic place. well done!"

"We were staying at the Premier Inn, just 5 minutes away, and decided to go out for a snack. We were so impressed with the pizza that we ended up going back for more. We tried the Spicy Mexican, which had plenty of toppings and a light, fluffy crust. The woman who served us and made the pizza was excellent, very friendly and skilled at making delicious pizzas. She definitely deserves a shoutout for her great service."

"Our group of 5 visited Cafe Venice for the first time after attending an England rugby match at Twickenham Stadium. It's a 20-minute walk from there, so not much different than a venue in Twickenham town center. I made a telephone booking about 10 days before our visit and clarified that on rugby days, they offer a restricted menu at lunchtime but a full menu in the evenings. Note that there is a good specials menu in addition to the extensive menu on the website. We had booked for 6:30 pm, and the restaurant was busy with many other customers who had also been to the rugby match. We received a warm welcome, and the service throughout was friendly and efficient. For starters, we had dough balls, mushrooms, mussels, calamari, and whitebait. For mains, we had carbonara, calzone, and sea bass fillets, all served with salad or chips. The portions were generous and very tasty, and the food and wine were reasonably priced. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Cafe Venice and will definitely be returning."

"A lucky find while on a mini break to the Darlington and Durham area. Did a google search for restaurants close to our hotel and picked Eastern Bamboo. The staff were lovely, all covid regulations were in situ. There was a great choice of dishes including plenty of vegetarian for my partner. Service was excellent and the food was delicious, the portions were a good size. Everything was on ground level which was good for me having limited mobility and I was able to park right outside. Don’t be put of by the surroundings as it was just outside the centre on the main road in amongst garages and closed shops."

"So this is my fav restaurant ever ..and I had booked Kline and mentioned it was for my sons 18th birthday. So let’s start with positive ..the staff are fantastic and bubbly .. But we where placed in a pretty empty restaurant on a tiny table cramped and against a pillar (I actually thought it was a wind up The food ..usually the BEST ever ..but the pizza and mussels where below average ..beer was great but overall it was just flat ..I had asked for a small cake when I ordered but alas nothing ..it breaks my heart that my fav place to go to is not the same ..is it under new management ? No idea but it just doesn’t cut it Again I want to hail the staff as they where great (but again why put me on a tiny table when there where tons of tables Hey ho .."

"We have visited this restaurant a few times and highly recommend the Hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls, Mongolian Beef, Salt and Pepper Chicken, and Bean Curd with mixed Vegetables. The noodle side dishes were also delicious, with generous portions that we should have probably shared! The restaurant was clean and tidy, although slightly worn out. "I was super excited for this restaurant to open in my neighborhood and be available on Deliveroo. However, I was incredibly disappointed with the portion sizes. We had a half full container of crispy beef floss, coated in batter that cost £13! The other items that we ordered were overly sweet and tasted very one dimensional. We ordered two different kinds of noodles they both tasted pretty much the same and lacked flavor. Incredibly disappointing and overpriced. The portions are tiny. I think the money that you're paying is going towards packaging. The food arrived hot and in an insulated bag. Everything was packaged well. I just wish it tasted as good as it looked."
