"Two of us had an itison deal and the other member of our party ordered from the regular menu. We chose mid afternoon as we expected it to be quieter and it was. The chef’s were entertaining and we enjoyed watching them cooking.and the interactive...cooking experience. Our food was very tasty and the itison deal was very good value for money. The member of our party who didn’t have the deal enjoyed her food and the dining experience. Quite costly if not using itison however you are paying for the experience as well as the food so would recommend for special occasions. Staff were all very friendly"

"Chinese dim sum near Little Venice in England? Sign me up this is what London is all about! Having grown up in San Francisco where you can find dim sum places throughout the city, I find myself craving a little part of home every now and then in my adopted home of Germany. Let's just say that discovering Pearl Liang during my vacation to London has been the most authentic experience so far. Admittedly, the restaurant is a bit hard to get to, though it should be convenient if you want to plan a stroll by the canals on a nice day or work in the area. I immediately noticed the tastefully posh interior as soon as I walked in. (Thankfully, it wasn't indicative of the prices! I visited Pearl Liang twice: once for a weekend lunch and once for a weekday dim sum lunch. I'd recommend coming on a weekday not only is service quicker, but you can also order the 10 item dim sum platter for £12.80, which offers classics ranging from har gow to shu mai as well as a grapefruit and mango tapioca dessert. The dim sum was just as delicious as anything I could have ordered back home in San Francisco, and, well, pretty much the same price as well. Don't skip the noodles either! We also had the braised e fu noodles with seafood. Offering a slightly spicy kick, it was full of flavor and fish to boot."

"Food good but service and manager attitude were shameful and ruined the experience. My brother and I took our mother out for dinner on a Wednesday night. Not the busiest night, the restaurant was about 1/4 full, so there were plenty of tables available. Initially seated next to a window, but our mother found it too cold -4C outside there so we asked to move to another identical sized table closer to the fire. Was told by manager possibly owner? some officious rubbish about the table being too small for food and therefore it wasn’t possible. I later confirmed it was identical in every way to the table we were seated at. She just couldn’t be bothered. So that was strike one. Then at 9:30pm, while still eating, we were told that we had to make our last orders at the bar. This was rapidly followed by the bill being thrust upon us and, at exactly 10:00pm, while still finishing our dinner, the music was turned off, the lights were dimmed and all the staff left the floor to relax on a table inside the restaurant. The message was clear: you’ve paid your £200 bill yes, not a cheap bill for 3 so no you can f-off. Never coming back. If you’re looking for a good Chinese restaurant, I can say with certainty that the China Diner is a much better option."

"it's been over 25 years since I made the first place in edinburgh rendezvous, and I can say without doubt that it is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the world. I don't live in Britain anymore, so when I visit, I take every opportunity to taste their delicacies. 25 years later, it's just as good as it was. this device is more than just a restaurant, it is an institution, a real sign that edinburgh defines. simply the best Chinese food in the city and one of the best in the country."

"Came a few years ago and had a faultless meal. However, the portions have got smaller and the taste was quite bland on our mains. Also, the chicken in blackbean sauce has changed which was a favourite last time and no longer tastes like a chicken and blackbean sauce should. They also coat the chicken for it in a batter and it totally ruins the dish. I would only come back for the smaller plates and dim sum. Was also shocked that thay can charge £45 for a beef stir fry and the portion was pathetic. It's shocking."

"Went as a group of 8 for a family meal when we had visitors. Service was great, we asked for some recommendations for non spicy kid friendly dishes and there were lots. The kids ate well, as did the adults! Food was cooked to order, was all fresh and excellent. Visitors were impressed (especially after having a substandard meal in Chinatown earlier that day). Highlight dish was the recommended fish slices with pickled mustard and vermicelli which came in a large soup bowl for sharing. Tangy, sour, spicy (fresh ginger) yet gentle and comforting. The menu is well worth exploring further on our next visit!"

"We were seated by the window which was lovely and seen to within minutes but my only remark would be it was very rushed so you never had time to enjoy every course before the next one was out infront of you. Therefore our main course was wasted, although we were offered a take out box. So we would have enjoyed it more if it was not so rushed."

"amazing eating as always their crispy chili tofu aubergine and tofu are amazing! I personally love the ambiente, it's just the right thing for what it is. the service is in the regular fit, but the last time we went there, the waiter the plates down, was rude to some friends on our table snapped and was impatient. our attempt to mention that to another waiter at the end (or was it a manager, I hope not) was shot, laughed and essentially ignored. great eating, good ambiente, terrible service. pity."

"We were staying at the Premier Inn, just 5 minutes away, and decided to go out for a snack. We were so impressed with the pizza that we ended up going back for more. We tried the Spicy Mexican, which had plenty of toppings and a light, fluffy crust. The woman who served us and made the pizza was excellent, very friendly and skilled at making delicious pizzas. She definitely deserves a shoutout for her great service."

"Our group of 5 visited Cafe Venice for the first time after attending an England rugby match at Twickenham Stadium. It's a 20-minute walk from there, so not much different than a venue in Twickenham town center. I made a telephone booking about 10 days before our visit and clarified that on rugby days, they offer a restricted menu at lunchtime but a full menu in the evenings. Note that there is a good specials menu in addition to the extensive menu on the website. We had booked for 6:30 pm, and the restaurant was busy with many other customers who had also been to the rugby match. We received a warm welcome, and the service throughout was friendly and efficient. For starters, we had dough balls, mushrooms, mussels, calamari, and whitebait. For mains, we had carbonara, calzone, and sea bass fillets, all served with salad or chips. The portions were generous and very tasty, and the food and wine were reasonably priced. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Cafe Venice and will definitely be returning."

"Been here twice in the last few months and the service was terrible both times. Waitress just stood at the desk looking into space, forgot about our table on both visits. Had to ask to order drinks, then ask again to order more drinks. Generally inattentive until the dessert when she took the plate from under a friend's fork as he was finishing his food. Food was okay but one dish was incredibly salty. Frustrating more than anything as their pizza is pretty tasty."

"I was in Blackheath for a long weekend with friends and we ended up coming here 3 nights out of four for dinner! The pizza was excellent, the beer was amazing especially the Mango IPA and the Black lager. The staff were very attentive and the manager really welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be back next time I’m in London, would go out of my way to go back!"

"I booked this restaurant from the trip advisor feedback. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty. As it is set in a brewery it needed to be buzzing for an atmosphere. Sadly a lot of the dishes were not on....all the mussels in buckets which made up a big percentage of the menu. We all ended up having pizzas, made to order and delicious. The service was brilliant. Very attentive and cheery waiters."

"The. Most. Horrendous. Food!! Ordered spring rolls, Prawn toast, chicken satay and beef satay with boiled rice and egg fried rice. Prawn toast was soggy, almost cold and tasteless. The spring rolls were really doughy, tasted awful and resembled a white pudding more that spring roll. Both rice were mushy and disgusting. The satay dished were equally awful and neither meat actually tasted like real meat or what they should normally taste like, had a rubbery quality and was inedible. Neither of us could finish any of these dishes and felt disgusting afterwards. For the price of this meal' I'd expect edible food. Massive disappointment and will never, ever order from here again. Worst take away I've ever had the misfortune to experience. I wouldn't even rate this star but I have to so I can leave a review."

"Really lovely little place with what looked to be like a sunny room out back. We had great service and the food was delicious. We were dining at lunch time. It was quiet which made a nice change from being packed in on tables. The staff were very helpful and accommodating."
