"I don't bother to review unless the experience is extremely unsatisfactory or highly pleasing. Happy to say this fell into the latter. Been craving for some burger, decided to go on a Thursday night to find the place totally empty. Still sceptical, was looking at the menu, when a friendly chap greeted us. There are good options for non-veg(beef/chicken) and veg burgers and wraps. We decided on a avo-chicken and a farm house veg burger for my partner. With little expectations we waited for our food, but pleasantly surprised when it arrived in huge portions. The chicken was perfectly grilled with good flavours of parsley and herbs which I enjoyed, seemed to be a Turkish/mid eastern take on chicken patty. The veg burger was also delectable with fried cheese. The chips were super crispy and batter fried with proper seasonings. While waiting, there were quite a few takeaways, so wasn't that empy after all. In all we had a very satisfied meal, very much recommended."

"Afternoon Tea was booked by my wife as a surprise for my birthday. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Dedicated quiet area for Afternoon Tea, shown to table, waitress Sandra was so lovely, very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. Asked if sandwiches could be free from mayonnaise, no problem at all, lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches brought out, scones were absolutely delicious. Nice touch was small carafe of water with lemon brought to table as well. Endless tea and coffee on request, would definately recommend and would love to go back."

"We went to this restaurant on bank holiday Monday (28th Aug) after visiting both Manchester locations a few times and always having decent experiences. We dined with my wife and two sons (aged 10 and 14). I want to mention that we understand businesses need to make a profit, and we are not hesitant to pay for good food. However, we were extremely disappointed with our visit tonight and regretted going out of our way to come here. The restaurant was dark, dingy, and dirty. The menus were sticky and in need of a clean, and the tables were also dirty. The entire place looked worn out, and the staff looked like they had just rolled out of bed. We had to wait a long time after being seated (despite booking online) just to be acknowledged and order drinks. The food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. We ended up paying almost £100 for the four of us, with nearly £10 of that being a service charge that was not mentioned anywhere. We asked for hot sauce for our fries and were charged a pound for a small pot of some Tabasco-like sauce. This felt outrageous, especially considering the high prices and the fact that most other burger places provide it for free. Considering the inadequate service, the poor condition of the restaurant, and the average (at best) food, these hidden costs felt like a slap in the face. We didn't complain because we are polite, but we definitely won't be coming back. I would advise others to avoid this place."

"Usually burgers and cocktails are a great place to come for beautiful food and good cocktails. This time we booked a table online for 7:00 and when we arrived, we were told that the restaurant would close at 7.30 because it was very quiet and they had 'been open since 12'. Although they do not explicitly tell us that we go, they have left us no other way, as 30 minutes is not enough time to have a meal and some drinks. Very bad service. Either you do not accept reservations online or check them regularly."

"DO NOT EAT HERE! To say this came up on Tripadvisor as one of the best restaurants in Manchester...we were excited to try out Almost Famous whilst in the city. We should have realised when it was dead inside that the food was going to be trash. But we got there around 8.45 and was greeted by friendly serving staff. Although we were going to get the Halloween special (not promoted inside the premises) we decided to go all out on the burgers. I ordered the Blame It On The Whisky burger no jalapeno and gluten free bun. My husband ordered the 'special ' burger on offer no mayo, no bacon mayo. Our drinks came first the Vanilla Mai Thai 's were weak no alcohol detected but we were excited by the look of the burgers on the menu, so let it go. My burger came first so I took off the top part of the bun and picked at the crispy pepperoni THEY WERE COLD. I made a face but kept picking at it slowly as we waited for my husbands food. 8min later his food arrives. He quickly disassembled the burger to ensure there is no mayo even though we were clear with the waitress of our dietary needs. His burger is covered in mayo all over the bottom. Politely we check our order and she sends it back to the kitchen. 5 8min later a new burger is sent to our table with lots of apologies. By this time i 've stopped picking at the meat and reassembled my burger and take a bite. ITS FULL OF JALAPENO 'S!!!! Seriously. As my husband checks his burger from the bottom up no mayo on the bottom. his half eaten chicken wing from the last burger is on top and finds **** bacon mayo inside his burger!!!!! At this point (both of us with chef kitchen experience) can not believe the staff are this incompetent and we tell the staff we are leaving. Mind you there is us and one other couple there is no excuse to be this sub par a chef 's lack of care and attention on a dead night. As I leave the restaurant my chest begins to tighten and my breathing gets shallow and at that moment I realise not only is the chef incapable of making a burger but the idiot gave me GLUTEN!!!! Thank you Almost Famous for almost killing me, nice one. As I recovered my husband managed to find a place still taking orders with 5min to closing KONGS whipped us up an amazing feast of fresh, HOT food, punching with flavour and even though they were about the bed down the kitchen made sure all our diety needs were taken care of. Almost Famous take note we had one night in Manchester and you ruined it I honestly think the second time my husbands burger came back to our table with the bacon mayo and half eaten wing was a purposeful pi take your chefs ego cost you three unpaid burger, un eaten cold fries and inedible wings doused in sauce. We never EVER complain, this is my first time leaving a negative experience review... even if food has been meh but this place ruined our Manchester experience and needs an honest review, a new chef and some in house changes. DO BETTER!!!"

"I get the concept but it just didn’t work. It’s bottomless pizza. You sit at your table and wait for people to bring different pizzas out (there is a selection of about 7 I think). They just kept bringing the same two pizzas out (chicken pineapple neither of which have tomato sauce on and weren’t particularly nice). We kept asking for pepperoni and promised it would come. After over an hour of being there we had 2 slices of pizza and had been offered the chicken pizza 6 times and some of the better pizzas zero times. Our young son got bored and restless so we left but I think we probably only had half a pizza each. It should be said after asking 4 or 5 times we did get some pepperoni and margarita. The staff were friendly but the system seemed to let them down. The music was good and there were plenty of people there (many seemed to have similar frustrations to us)"

"Arrived and seated quickly in a dark very quiet area at the back. Ambiance was a massive zero. Staff walking two and fro ignored our existence for 10 mins and then I asked if we could sit at one of the front of house tables. There where 3 or 4 empty and they where not all together. The waiter said no as the where booked. I said well we are here now so we can take that front table in the well lit area where there was more ambiance but the waiter disappeared to ask. I mean come on. When I booked my table I wasn’t given official seat allocation so if a table is free in a nicer spot give it to the customer who ate there. It’s not a big deal. So very poor customer focus. Ridiculous seating issue and ignored by staff for a little while who never even asked if we wanted a drink. We got up and left and went to eat at wolf at the door which was 10/10 awesome."
