"Yesterday evening, I visited this restaurant for the first time. It was a new experience for me, although it had actually been open for about a year. I decided to try it after a particularly stressful day."

"Pizza good as usual but the side portions are laughable. Slaw £4.95 barely two tablespoons of grated carrot with pepper on top and tasted grim. £4.95 for miniscule side salad drenched in dressing (with two grapes of all things. Even dough balls massively marked up over £4 for 8 but teeny tiny. Didn't complain as my teen son was too embarrassed. Clearly how they're making their money. Shame really. Otherwise service good....pizza express is pizza express!"

"Vito’s Italian had been on my ever-growing list of Restaurants to try for a while, so it was a welcomed nudge when Vito invited me to come and try what he describes as authentic Italian food. Being Italian himself, and heavily involved in all parts of the restaurant, the passion that Vito has for food really comes across in the dishes served here. The restaurant had a warm, open feeling to it and the bar area feels a little rustic. Our waiter was very friendly and tentative which I love about proper Italian restaurants, the staff always want to make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The specials board that evening included a lot of seafood so I didn’t choose from it this time but I do love seeing a specials board! The menu itself is vast so it took me a while to choose what I wanted, but it’s great to see that Vito’s offers the pasta dishes as a smaller portion for starters too. For my starter, an unusual choice for me, but I decided to go with Scamozza Al Forno Con Funghi – Oven baked Scamozza cheese with mushrooms, garlic and parsley. A large portion of big, fresh mushrooms lightly cooked and baked in lots of a cheese, far from the soggy, horrible garlic mushrooms you sometimes get on a menu that just leave a sour taste. I don’t often go for mushrooms but I was really pleased with my choice and really enjoyed this starter – so much cheese! Ben went with a starter portion of the Ravioli Aragosta – Lobster filled ravioli cooked with prawns and a touch of cream. Inside the ravioli was real, fresh, big chunks of lobster. The prawns looked big and juicy too and the dish was presented beautifully. I was tempted to be honest, but I stuck to my guns with choosing not to eat seafood (was the most difficult it’s been since I stopped eating it months ago! . However I am told this dish was perfect and delicious. It was a tough decision on which Main dish to go for. Vito recommends the traditional Carbonara. BTW don’t offend him by going to his ITALIAN restaurant and asking for an English or practically made up version of Carbonara in a cream sauce or with chicken in it – that is not a Carbonara and not an authentic Italian dish. I couldn’t believe when he told me that he had previous customers asking for it this was and giving a bad review when he said that he did not serve Carbonara in such a way. However, that night the meal that caught my eye most on the menu was Strascinati Con Salsiccia Lucana (nope I couldn’t pronounce it either – Strascinati (this word comes from the meaning to “pull” as you can see in the shape of the pasta cooked with homemade sausage meat, tomato sauce, basil and chilli. (Typical pasta from Vito’s hometown . Wow – the dish looked amazing, tasted amazing and it was amazing that I actually ate the whole bowl-full, but I did Really good choice and right up my street in terms of taste and ingredients. Ben went for a good old Calzone – Folded pizza filled with ham, mozzarella and tomato, made the traditional Italian way. The dough was perfectly folded and just thick enough that it was lovely and crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. Fully packed with delicious ingredients, this Calzone did not disappoint, however it just beat him as he was so full. I tried it myself of course and agreed that it was really tasty. As well as the food going down extremely well, I loved the house red wine too – a Primitivo from the Apulia region, a really smooth wine. I am definitely going to get me a bottle of this for the weekend! 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains and some olives to start came to just under £60 which we thought was very reasonable and was superb value for money for the quality of food that we received. I think this restaurant would be somewhere great to go for a date or with the family for an occasion."

"Booked to come here to celebrate my Birthday with family. Have to admit, I haven't visited here since before 2019, my expectations were exceeded. They were most accommodating, due to the fact that some of my family members sadly became ill, so could not attend, however after informing Fiume, they were most gracious adjusted our table dinning requirements accordingly. The restaurant was very busy, however, that certainly didn't detract from the excellent attentive service that we received. From our starters of Crespella Ai Funghi E Salsiccia, to our mains of whole Seabass Flambe Di Gamberi, our food was superb, along with the very attentive waitress that looked after our table for our food drinks. It was quite a night, due to the fact that there must have been at least 6 other Birthday parties celebrating there, which was unusual to experience so many, . . just shows what a popular Italian Restaurant this really is. Thank You to all the staff chefs Fiume Italian Bar Restaurant, for making my Birthday celebrations an evening to remember. We'll definitely be back very soon."

"We had a lunch to celebrate being able to get out together for a Christmas treat. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and provided excellent service. One of our group members was feeling unwell, but the staff on duty were incredibly kind and helpful. The food was well-presented and suited our budget perfectly, with a good selection on the fixed menu. Due to Covid restrictions, the restaurant was quite quiet and lacked atmosphere through no fault of the staff. We will definitely visit again."

"I’ve been to Giovanni’s three times in the space of three days only because the Capricciosa Pizza was SO delicious, and I wanted to have it again!! On the third night I had the parmigiana di melanzane, and it was fabulous as well. My partner had the minestrone soup and spaghetti bolognese, and he was equally impressed. The food is really very good, and the service is impressive. Especially if you’re lucky enough to have Izzy as your waitress, you’re in luck! She will look after you and make sure that you have the most delightful dining experience. Whenever I return to Knutsford, I will ensure to eat here again!! "We visited the restaurant with a group of four adults and two children in strollers, needing high chairs. Matthew and his team went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had plenty of space. We had dined here before, but we returned to try the roasts after hearing they were the "best in Bromsgrove." They did not disappoint! The beef was cooked to perfection, and all the sides were exactly what we hoped for. The service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. We will definitely be back soon!"

"We ate here as a family on Saturday July There were adults, one five year old and a baby. The restaurant is our local, just down the road so we know it well It has a nice family atmosphere, busy but not noisy, and friendly. The staff are attentive and cheerful but not pushy. The service is good, even when busy. The owner is very hands on and greets everyone. We chose the rioja wine which was gorgeous. The house wines are good too from past experience. The starters, pizzas and pasta are excellent and good value. Tasty and well cooked. In comparison the mains and specials can be overpriced and the portions quite small, although flavoursome. Two of our party had them and were a bit disappointed. Our pizza, the Anacapri, unusually, was a bit lack lustre, undercooked and not very tasty. Usually they are really good. However it didnât spoil our evening and we all enjoyed it, especially the children. Nobody minds them walking about and they get special attention."

"Staff were really friendly and found me a table in the bar area on a busy Saturday night. Service was attentive and my vegetarian lasagne and brownie were delicious, as was the raspberry muddle cocktail. I was too late for the earlybird deal, but even so it was reasonably priced. "I came into the lovely one right on Fulham road. Dare I say, the English breakfast tea at Nero’s is the best I’ve ever tasted, strong but not bitter, zesty but not sourish (completely succumbs other “luxury brands” like tea pigs and Twinings . The lady serving me poured a bit too much milk so I kindly asked her to make me another one with the consequence of having to pay for another one as I reached for my card. However, she did not stop for a moment, nor did she ask me to pay and swiftly made another one within seconds. Not only that but she poured me a generous amount of milk in a nespresso like cup for me to pour. I was impressed, full stop. Efficient, polite and professional. Wonderful. I had just come from an intensive study session from rival company Pret so was not my usual sharp self and proceeded to take out the teabag at the counter (where I would usually go to the small side one that accommodates milk, sugar, etc. . This lovely lady brought out a plate (that the eat in people have the luxury of and allowed me to place the teabag on it once I was done. It’s such a shame that I cannot remember her name to thank her individually. Anyhow, hopefully from this review, this particular branch can get full recognition and credit for their super staff and the services they provide."

"A small piece of Italy, but big portions, be careful! Beautiful atmosphere with seating and extra in the basement. Antipasti sections are good between 2. Melon spray is a big summer drink. Pizzas are big enough to share. So much choice in the menu. Try Pasta next visit. Service is pretty fast and friendly. Also many Italian products stacked high on the shelves around the restaurant.."

"We visited this restaurant on our first night in Durham as it was close to where we were staying. I am delighted that we did as the food was really good. There was a very good choice of main meals and also desserts. I can thoroughly recommend the chicken dishes and also the pannecotta. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned again on our last night. The service was very good and our waiter was especially attentive and helpful as I have to eat gluten free. Thank you for two very enjoyable and tasty meals out."

"I'm not sure what this place wants to be. It was playing club music but in the surrounding of a fine dine establishment. To be fair the steak was really nice but felt the other dishes lacked imagination they were all quite similar. Finally I just felt it was all over priced for what was on offer."

"This was the same night that we transferred over to the San Carlo restaurant after a bad experience at the sister restaurant next door at Fumo (see other review) We were greeted professionally and taken to a table, sat next to the kitchen. Unfortunately, this restaurant had the same view as Fumo of quantity versus customer experience. All the tables were so tightly positioned that even the staff couldn’t walk between them to serve the customers. The waiter who took our drinks order, was very friendly and provided good advice on wines . The waitress who took our food order was very friendly accommodating. We started the meal with calamari and bruschetta. Both were delicious. Unfortunately, the main courses ruined our entire experience. My husband ordered the surf and turf style lobster and steak combo what a treat for our special occasion. What a shame more like! The steak was overcooked for his request of medium and the lobster was cold. When we advised the waitress, she came and took the lobster off his plate, leaving him with the steak. Five minutes later, returned with the same piece of lobster that had she told us had “been put under the grill for five minutes” to heat it up. This meant that the lobster was completely dried out and inedible. I ordered the gnocchi with beef Ragu. Because the plates had not been warmed, my dish was cold around the outside and a warm in the middle. It also only contained 10 pieces of gnocchi, and that is it. We were asked if we wanted anything else to eat, but we declined as we had theatre tickets and were aware that all the staff were now talking about us. When presented with the bill, both of the dishes were on there, but they had taken off the service charge . I had advised that we should not be paying for the lobster and steak or the gnocchi, as neither dish had met expectation or was edible. The female supervisor got very defensive with me and basically told me, that I would be paying for it at which point, I asked to speak to the General Manager. He was more understanding and removed the 2 dishes from the bill. Unfortunately, we had a gift voucher so now we have a credit to reuse at another one of their chain restaurants. After trying 2 in one night , we are reluctant to try another one again."

"The food was good and reasonably priced, and it was delivered promptly. However, the waitstaff took a long time to clear our used dishes and check if we wanted dessert. By the time they finally offered us dessert, I was already ready to leave. Other diners who arrived after us had finished their meals and paid their bills before we were even given the dessert menu. This was disappointing and detracted from what could have been a very pleasant experience."

"I must say I did enjoy the vibe of the place, unpretentious and unscripted, all while facing the green to remind you that you are still in London somewhat! Food offerings are more geared towards hearty than fine. Wine by the glass comes in one size! It' what you like no?? I would have loved to come back here around the 9:45-11 PM on a Friday Saturday to experience the place at its buzzy best ..."
