"I recommend this place very much! the two brothers waiting for us were absolutely fantastic. they were so friendly and we had so much sharpened with them it was funny. the atmosphere is very relaxed and cooled, definitiw felt comfortable there and eating was not so good. I couldn't owe it. they have all curries tailored to our own individual flavoring preferences, fresh, authentic and tasteful. yes, there was a light wait for the main thing, but fair to be, not so much longer than other places in the great scheme of the dinge, and I am more than happy to wait a little longer for food when it tastes good. if it is cooked to order what do they expect? Moreover, it meant that we go the appetizers and enjoy a drink and a chat while we waited. can't wait to go back."

"The real ale pub x Indian grub combo is a tried and tested one, and Birmingham is has got a great selection of pubs that bring the two under one roof. It isn't located in the greatest part of town, being primarily industrial buildings and take-away's, but parking after 6 is free which is a bonus. The pub itself looks like a classic tiled boozer from the outside, and saying its a little run down on the inside is being kind. That said, give me a characterful old building over an overly polished one any day! The only real complaint was the temperature, it was pretty chilly inside, I wasn't the only person in there keeping my winter coat on! Now we didn't exactly work our way through the menu, choosing instead to order a single large mixed grill between the two of us. I'd read a lot about the mixed grill and its gargantuan size, and I wasn't disappointed! A cast iron sizzling platter piled high with, chicken wings, chicken tikka, kebab and fish served with a couple of dipping sauces on the side. The meat was all well cooked and served hot by the friendly staff, who go out of their way to accommodate you, without it ever seeming like a chore. It would have been nice to be served a bit of salad with what was a gargantuan platter of meat, I feel this would have added to the experience at very little cost to the pub. As I wasn't drinking at the time, I can't comment on how the beer is kept, but they have a good selection of lagers and a couple of hand pumps on the bar (that were in use importantly! so there is an excellent choice too. The bill came to £19 for the two of us, including 2 large soft drinks, brilliant value given the amount of food! I would recommend Hen and Chickens to anyone looking for a big tasty meal and a couple of pints, as long as you don't mind the rough and ready decor!"

"Wow!!! My partner and I ate at The Angel Curry Centre this week. The food was excellent. You can bring your own wine/ beer which cuts the bill down considerably which is brilliant considering the cost of living. I even had lunch the next day because of the huge left overs.The waiters and chefs, they have two, Ahmed Koxes who has been there for 30 years and Nizam Uddin Ovek who has been there 22years were just lovely. Their amazing waiter gave us a full history lesson on Indian, Pakistani and Bengali relations! What a fabulous gem in Chapel Market Angel. Incandescent Sean here"

"the place is tastefully decorated and the personal attentive and helpful. the menu has the usual standard choices, but also a good selection of unusual oriented, portioning were good generous, but not overwhelming. the rice with pebbles was particularly good. yet despite a detailed maintenance with the waiter at the level of the heat which means by medium or hot, and our confirmation that we wanted to be quite sharp madras equivalent, the netzen were all missing in the heat. the food was all very tasty and tasty, but not hot enough for our taste and certainly not comparable to medium-heavy dressed each of us had eaten in other facilities."

"Food is usually good here and the lamb chops were as good as ever. Flavoursome and tender. However, the Lamb Desi was over powered by star anise. This spoilt the otherwise good dishes we were served. The extra aniseed in the dish had the unpleasant effect of tummy trouble as it worked its laxative magic the next day. Yuk."

"I used to come to the Bengal Brasserie a lot many years ago 15 20 plus maybe and it only came back on my radar having moved house over to the Ormeau area. We have been there three times in the last couple of weeks and I couldn’t recommended the food, service and ambiance more highly. It’s a real treat to go there. The food is top notch fresh, full of flavour and beautifully presented. But what sets it apart is the warm welcome and customer service. My family and I were warmly welcomed on every occasion, and the Menu options were tailored to suit a range of tolerances to hot food and spice. Service was very attentive and personal on every occasion, and there is a clear level of pride among the staff. The little touches like the hot towels at the end of the serving and complimentary post dinner liquor bring back great memories of classic restaurant service. We loved it all and on every visit! This original version of Bengal Brasserie (the Lisburn Road one is a different business with difference owners I believe) has been an institution in Belfast for over 30 years and it is easy to see why it has stood the test of time when hundreds of restaurants have come and gone over three decades. My only regret is that it fell off my radar for so long, but I am so glad we have rediscovered it! I’d highly recommend it!"

"This is the 3rd attempt at ordering from this restaurant and none have been successful. Ordered a takeaway on Saturday night via their website and order confirmed and delivery would be 50 mins. Just after 1 hour I rang and was advised the order was out for delivery, rang again 20 mins later and told the delivery driver Mike had the order and was 7 mins away, 15 mins later still nothing. Rang back the restaurant told he was still en route. After 2 hours rang the restaurant and advised we wanted the order cancelled and money refunded. No explanation as to what happened to our meal. I have emailed and contacted them via social media for a refund and no response. 3 days later money still not refunded- do not order from their website direct, use something like Deliveroo where you can have a 3rd party return your money."

"My father and I visited this restaurant on Christmas Eve and were pleasantly surprised to find that it was under new management. We have been coming to different versions of this restaurant for years and were extremely pleased with the new changes. I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, while my father had the Vindaloo. We also shared some Saag Paneer and Bhaji, all of which exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional as well. I returned with the rest of my family a week later and can't wait for my next visit!"
