"the first and last time to eat here. but first I would like to say that the personal was the only thing that were nice for this place they were, my steak came as hard as a flip-flop (ordered medium) was then given a second steak and cut it open and it was rarely even blue and I could probably be treated with it when I had some pfeffercorn sauce to wash it, but I got a cold tasteless top from what was like."

"The waitress was AMAZING. I think her name was Lucy as that was what was on the receipt. She was a short young lady with a nose ring and a badge that said In Training. she was super helpful letting us know about vegan alternatives, discount options in the app, and even suggesting food to try. Please clone her and have her in all of your restaurants. the only think i would say is the layout of the restaurant isn't great. i would prefer it if the tables were a little more private. maybe had some highbacked booths on offer or something like that. Other than that i would deffo go back again even just to thank Lucy for her excellent smily, warm service."

"There 's no doubt The Duchy has come to life once again. Food and service is great. The place is an absolute gem, being a traditional English pub so near to the bustle of central London life but a world apart from that bustle, being what we Brits call a Local ; just south of the River Thames. Sunday lunch in a homely, cosy pub is always a relaxing experience before the new week fires up. So why 3 stars? Whether you 're a local or on holiday (at the increasing number of Airbnb 's in Kennington) it remains an irritation about sneaky mark ups on that nice bottle of wine the two of you want to share with the food. That 's the significant down side to the current business model for the beloved Duchy. Take one example, a bottle of Cotes du Rhone Village Les Coteaux; shown in my photo as £10.99 wholesale. Sold to accompany your lovely meal in the Duchy at £31. That 's a mark up of 182%. Let 's hope the current management team wise up to that not being realistic in a Kennington Pub (yes it 's the industry average for Mayfair /Shard /Battersea Power Station/ Knightsbridge/ Kings Road) but not for our little Gastropub in Kennington. So let 's crack on and sort that out."

"If you are a gin lover and like smoked meats you need come here! Having prebooked a table we were taken up stairs and provided a menu. Luckily we were sat right under the specials board from that I instantly chose the fried haggis and then a ox cheek dish to follow. I also decided to sample a fire side cocktail which packed a punch of tequila. The fried haggis was sublime with it poached egg and was the perfect amount for a starter. Cream spinach was ordered to accompany my ox cheeks which turned out to be so tender! However it was so rich with the red wine sauce and mash that i struggled to finish. To complete the meal I opened the gin menu which was extensive. My friend had one that changed colour where I got a sake based one. Each one was carefully presented with delicate fruits .. Overall a very lovely place and a must to attend to in St Ives"

"Such a shame we knew they didn’t have the full vegan menu (October 2020) but still had good options, popped in Tuesday afternoon to check for a family lunch the following day and were told we couldn’t book outside tables but to come before 3.30 after which they just served pizza. Arrived Wed 1.30, shown outside by a very friendly man we met at the door who I took to be the manager went to ask for menus and were told they weren’t serving food outside! No tables available inside (prefer outdoor anyway currently), wondered about takeaway sit out? But no. Ended up in the pub opposite with a bowl of chips as only vegan option. Will try again another time as it sounded good. Disappointing though."

"Great food everything that we had was fantastic. The only downside was the service for two reasons. we had to remind the waiting staff several times for things we'd asked for e.g. wine, water etc I ordered a green veg salad with quinoa which was meant to come with broccoli, mangetout etc, but arrived as just lettuce leaves. I pointed out that it was wrong, but the waitress tried to style it out saying it was the vegetable. I had to both point to the table next to us who had the right one, and also poke through the salad to show there was literally nothing but lettuce leaves there for her to finally accept that she might need to change it. Bit of a shame as the food is truly excellent"

"Went to have dinner and was turned away by some big guy on the door who said no entry started saying about only food. Think he had eaten most of it. Anyways ended up with our group in the Bliss restaurant on Willesden Lane. Join us here guys. Having eatther for the last1 0 years in many different names of restaurant won't bother going where I am not welcome. Shame on you. Thought the Portuguese were a hospitable folk. Oh well onwards and upwards"

"Lovely inside as it had a makeover thought I'd try the signature surf and turf at £20.00 what an awful mistake the sirloin steak was thin and small the 3 battered king prawns when I removed the batter was as I expected very cheap watery puny prawns frozen chips and a rather disgusting chimichurri green herb and oil sauce which I found tasteless and pointless It's not worth the money or even with a discount If prawns are being served they should be battered crevettes which are good quality large meaty delicious prawns there's nothing worse when restaurants cut corners"

"Do not be fooled by the initial impression as a buoyant hotspot of authentic Mexican cuisine in a vivacious corner of Notting Hill Santo is an affront to decency. To look back on the experience in a positive light would be, at best, futile, and it is clear that I am not alone in holding this view. Such a flagrant disregard for culinary aptitude is seldom encountered, and they likewise miss the value for money criterion by a rather impressive margin. Our meal was capped off by an awkward exchange with an arrogant degenerate, posing as a waitress, upon our rational refusal to pay the laughable discretionary service charge, and is one that we, as long as we are able to reason, will never seek to repeat."

"The decor is lovely. However this does not make up for the fact the service was shocking, to the point that I wouldn't return. It is a basic minimum of table service to deliver a tables food order together. Ordered 5 meals, 4 were delivered to the table and it took 9minutes for the last meal, by which time the rest had gone cold. After voicing that this was quite poor I was told my meal would be refunded as it was cold, however this hadn't happened when the bill was produced. Such a shame this pub used to have a really good reputation and never had issues before."

"I really don 't like to make negative comments about place like this and I 'm quite understanding of the difficulties they can have, but this was a genuinely disappointing experience. The first thing that struck, was the food scraps left under the table, which doesn 't give a great impression regarding cleanliness. The table we were given had two heights, which created obvious issues regarding drink stability. The menu is quite varied, with a couple of vegan a some vegetarian options on offer. The prices appear a little on the expensive end of the scale, as it 's hardly Michelin standard. When we had finished, we were asked how the meal was, we mentioned that the children 's cheeseburgers had been quite peppery, especially for young children. I mentioned that I tried it myself and I found it to be too peppery to enjoy, the response was not particularly apologetic, from either of the staff members we told. I would guess that nothing we said will be taken into account and that pepper would continue to be over used. The indoor children 's 'play area , has 4 wall puzzles and 3 vending machines, in addition to plenty of litter, which had clearly been there for some time. The staff were polite, but clearly at a loss of what to do in the event of customer complaints. In summary, it was somewhere that offered vegan options, the service was fine, parking is easy, unfortunately however, it won 't be on my must go back list."

"Our first time here and pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the price was reasonable. A good variety of beer and lager on tap. The waitresses were friendly and knowledgeable of the things on offer. We had a lovely evening and there was a quiz on that night to entertain if you wanted to join in. Parking: The car park is fairly large and seems to have enough spaces for the size of establishment. Price per person: £20–30"

"For our starter, we received three small pots of homemade sauces and some oily tortillas. The tacos were bland. Since we don’t eat meat, we opted for the sweet potato tacos with feta cheese, which were decent thanks to the flavors of the sweet potato and cheese. However, we wanted variety and ordered a different option next time: black bean tacos with cheese. Unfortunately, they were dry and underwhelming. The saving grace was the salty insistent on avocado—though it was just a piece with a fried egg, and still lacked flavor. The deep-fried fish taco was the only one I enjoyed. Sadly, all the taco tortillas were soggy, cold, and fell apart easily, served with awkward, raw-looking garnishes. The staff seemed disorganized, and to top it off, there was a 12.5% service charge added to our bill. I paid it but left feeling dissatisfied. I won’t be returning or recommending this place to anyone."

"Such a shame, we were looking forward to trying out this place but we had a really bad experience. We ordered food which after an hour hadn't come, after checking we were told that the person that took our order hadn't put it through. Whilst frustrating these things happen, but then after another 30mins one meal came but not the other two. Again they had forgotten to put through half the order. Not once did anyone apologise or check to see if we were ok. We left with only one of our table having eaten and having wasted our Sunday morning. Mistakes happen but it wasn't dealt with well. "A lovely warm welcome, we didn't book but they found a perfect table next to a warm radiator. Great service from drinks through to recommendations for our meal. We had the children's roast dinner and my goodness! It was so tasty and the portions were huge. A great selection of drinks including orchard thieves cider (our favourite). Highly recommended Price per person: £10–20"

"Going back to the Gamston Lock was like seeing an old friend again. In this day and age, when words “New” and “Cutting Edge “ are the norm and the #everythingsdifferent is the gold standard, it’s nice to re visit somewhere that has stayed the same. Everything was the same, in completely the best way. The greeting we got at the door was in the same friendly, cheerful way. The food was to the same excellent standard. Our favourites were still on the menu. The serving staff that looked after us Kat and Tracey kept up the friendly and polite service in the same friendly and familiar fashion that we had come to know and love about the place. They were there when we needed them and checked up on us throughout the meal. In a world that rushing on way too fast, it’s nice just to be able to relax and take time out in lovely surroundings and be looked after by staff who know and love their job. The Gamston Lock has taken to heart the proverb “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. I can’t help but think that the world needs more places like this. Definitely going to be going back again. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The team at this restaurant always provides excellent service, with Damion standing out for his efficiency and friendliness. He consistently ensures we have the best experience. It is because of this team that I am willing to drive twice the distance for my "Harvester fix." They truly make a difference. Thank you to Damion, Abby, Stefan, and all the other team members who make this Harvester stand out as a flagship experience, keeping me coming back month after month."

"Firstly sat on a wet chair. Not a good start. Asked for beef Sunday roast. Was told no beef available, which I thought was odd, for saying how early it was. Opted for turkey. Whilst eating, heard another diner being told beef was available. My partner had half of lager, served in a non lager glass, which immediately went flat. The glass wasn't changed, just topped up, immediately went flat again. Eventually got the glass changed, for a proper lager glass. We both had the turkey roast. Poor quality, two very small roast potatoes and the smallest portion of stuffing. Very disappointed. We had booked for Christmas day lunch. After this experience, may cancel."

"Around 5 PM, a young man came to my room to address the bed situation. He pushed the two single beds together to create a double, but did not zip the mattresses together, so it was essentially still two small singles covered by a double quilt. I was staying here because my travel plans were disrupted by snow and ice conditions. The car park hadn't been salted or cleared, making it difficult to navigate. The paths leading to the hotel were also untouched, which made it especially challenging for me, as I walk with sticks. Overall, my experience was quite frustrating."
