"Not been here, since I moved back to Glasgow from Liverpool. Even to this day this place delivers. It is a buffet eating place but also have ala carte too. While most buffet places are run down, this place has a fine dine decor. Very clean, very friendly staff, very attentive, and the food is great. Practically right next to Glasgow central train station, this place is a must. I have seen these people cooking for huge Indian weddings in the past and they are very clean in the kitchen. I think I'll have Carrot Halwa and some kind of semolina ball for dessert that they make, these are breathtakingly good desserts. You can't beat lunch for £7.95 Get there and do a review as I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as myself and people I have introduced to this place have liked. Only bad thing. Because the food is so nice I always over eat and feel bloated: this is my own fault:"

"I used to think of this place as the best Indian in East kilbride we get Christmas Dinner every year from them and order at least once ever few months, but I will not be ordering again. Over the last year they have massively went down hill the korma sauce is literally like water now with hardly any taste and the sweet nans are terrible can't even call it a sweet nan anymore as there is basically no filling. It's a shame it has went so badly but unfortunately will not be ordering again as are other Indians in East kilbride that are better than it. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"we have often ordered from everest and eating is good. this time I can’t give a review of the food as it was delivered to another village and we never have the chance to try it! phoned several times for updates where our £70 worth on Indian food, as it was ever getting later and later plus we had a family from london to visit all hungry! as it turned out, the supplier could not be troubled to get it to someone’s proper address that is now 2 hours after the original order. to complete everything, they offered to go back to the wrong address to collect our food. Why do we want secondhand food?! we have said everest, we wanted a refund, they told us we had to go with soffable for a refund...again, no apologies, no offer of a voucher...Nothing! note to the administration: sort them their delivery rubers! will be back"

"The Carnarvon helped us celebrate our Christmas Eve in a wonderful way. We dined in the glasshouse, which provided a nice, private atmosphere. The food was excellent and all of our guests were pleased with their dishes. We opted for the Christmas Family menu, which offered a variety of options for those who didn't want a traditional Christmas dinner. There was a small mix-up with some guests wanting custard instead of cream on their desserts, but it was quickly and easily resolved. One of our guests, who had never been to The Carnarvon before, remarked on the beauty of the venue and expressed a desire to return. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for its exceptional service from beginning to end. My only complaint is that Santa and crackers were not included in the Christmas festivities, which would have added some fun photo opportunities."

"I've eaten at a few good vegetarian south Indian places (like saga and woodlands in london) and this place really gives them a run for their money. There are now a great many vegan items marked on the main menu (in the restaurant sadly not on their website yet). You can get most of what you'd want from a south Indian like dosa, vada, idly, thalis etc. If you've never yet tried South Indian then i highly recommend it, it's a bit different to standard Indian food and just as flavorful and spiced and comforting but with a few extra interesting textures. The dishes are small and cheap so but a few and share to try a bit of everything."

"Such a great discovery! I have visited this restaurant multiple times in the past month and I absolutely adore it. The food is delicious and portion sizes are generous. The staff are all friendly and eager to engage in conversation. The Oak is a wonderful village pub that has something for everyone, including bingo on Thursday afternoons. I plan on visiting The Oak more often in the coming months and would highly recommend it to anyone. Can't wait to see you all again soon!"

"I recently had my first Scottish Indian meal in about 15 years, and I was not disappointed! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great for a dinner setting. The price per person was between £20-30, which I found reasonable for the quality of food. I highly recommend trying the Naan, Chicken Pakora, and Lamb Desi dishes. Overall, I would give this restaurant a 5-star rating for their delicious food and top-notch service."

"Ate in here recently and was left very underwhelmed. The food was less than average. We eat enough of this kind of food to know that each type of dish looks different from another. Everything we ordered could have been the same thing; meat sat in brown oily sauce. The taste did nothing to change my mind. The staff were pleasant enough as was the service provided but didn’t give any kind of impression that they had been trained properly or knew what they were doing. There was confusion over what 0% lager was or if they even had it and the person who took our order couldn’t tell us anything about the various dishes because she hadn’t eaten them. The cleanliness was questionable. The person who was waiting our table saw something on one of the plates and decided to wipe it with her hand, then the sleeve of her jumper before setting it down in front of my husband. There is not sufficient ventilation. During our meal we noticed that the air was filled with a haze and my eyes were stinging. It was coming straight out from the kitchen, and filtering through to the restaurant seating area. The floor tiles near the kitchen, stairs and toilet area are dangerously slippery. They weren’t wet, they were greasy! Our clothes smelled strongly of cooking oil and a week later it still lingered on our coats. The decor is shabby and there is no ambiance or atmosphere with subtle lighting etc. Felt a little like sitting in a waiting room. Over all not a great experience and left us wishing we hadn’t bothered."

"Called in on a day out in Truro. We were searching for somewhere to eat, and quite by luck we came across Chorleys. We looked at the menu outside, and were drawn in by that and the amazing aromas wafting out. Three of us each had a different burger, and shared some peri peri fries, which had a lovely kick to them, and the crispiest onion rings we’ve ever tasted. The food was of the highest quality, and the gentleman serving us was extremely polite and good at his job. We explained that one of our group had a dairy allergy, which was no problem and the cheese on that persons burger was exchanged for a dairy free alternative. We are visiting Cornwall again in a few weeks, and will travel down to Truro from Bude to eat there again. "Why haven't I rated this place yet? It’s exceptional! I've been recommending this pub to people for years. The pub fare is under £10, and it’s simply delicious! Everything is always fresh, hot, and tasty; I've never had a bad meal here. The portions of meat during the Sunday carvery are huge, so make sure you're hungry! If you enjoy sprouts, you must try them in black pepper sauce—a creation from the talented and obviously passionate chef. I promise you'll end up craving them!"

"An absolute disgrace! We made reservations for the evening a few months ahead at 6.30. We were suddenly requested to come at 5. We told the owner that that was not possible, after some bizarre emails we did arrive a bit earlier than our original plan, around 6, looking forward to a nice evening amongst a group of friends, who also were eating there that night. But we got astonned as immediately we were told to leave within an hour!!! We told that that was unacceptable, and got the reply that it was ok. But it clearly was not... The entrees were put on the table within 5 minutes, the mains immediately after that. Entrees still on the table.... further we were fully ignored. After we finished the main they cleared the table and threw the check on it?!? I have never ever been threated this rude in any restaurant ever. With tears in my eyes we left while our friends came in to enjoy the extend dinner evening... And besides, the place was filthy, lady toilet not working, male toilet dirty and sticky ánd the food was quite bad.. the chicken was extremely dry, the spicy dish was not spicy and all courses were mostly sauce with only a few grams of chicken/prawn. The water was warm and there was no coffee or tea. This place is a disgrace and should be avoided, shame on you Taj Mahal!"

"This restaurant use to be excellent at lunch time offering a set two course meal with authentic dishes to choose from. Having visited recently I was So disappointed as they offered a Buffet lunch which would suggest you got to select from a buffet table,...one would not expect too much for the (I think it was) per person but the buffet came straight from the kitchen on a side plate, the starter in the form of a couple of pieces of chicken which had no authentic Indian flavour, there was a tiny chicken wing, two little chicken nuggets? and I think it was a pakora all cold. Having asked us if we wanted vegetables or meat for the main again three dishes appeared from the kitchen all chicken, I asked the waiter what curries they were, he pointed to each one and said sweet, medium and spicy, having tasted the sauces they were like nothing I've ever tasted from an Indian restaurant, the portion of rice for two was measly and the Nan Bread just acceptable. I didn't think much of the service as I felt the waiter didn't want me to ask question. It's obvious that a budget has come into play because of lost revenue due to the pandemic but what false economy as people will not return if this is what is presented it's insulting to offer such poor, inadequate food when once it was excellent. I doubt I shall ever go back there."

"This is one of my favourite places to eat in Eastbourne, whether that’s with colleagues, friends, my partner or my grown up sons. A perfect relaxed space to enjoy good food and a catch up. The staff are so friendly and welcoming (and usually know what I’m going to order my favourite spicy beef with noodles and a jasmine tea! . The service is quick, food cooked to order, always fresh, hot and yummy! It is also excellent value for money I can’t rate it highly enough!"

"Fantastic place to eat in all respects. Don’t go expecting Pattaks or shop bought paste curry, this is the real deal! Served from a small container ship by a family business set in a lovely bay. Remember to buy mango chutney to go with your fantastic food. The sometimes lengthy wait for your food is a testament to how good it is. I was reading some of the negative reviews on here and it’s clear these people don’t get out much and should stick to there fish and chips."

"Beautiful little restaurant, food was amazing all plant based and sugar free, staff were lovely and had the best pancakes and avo on toast EVER!!, used to go to another vegan place in Leicester but this tops that by far, so healthy Louisa’s will now be my regular place when I’m the city centre. "A group of 11 of us visited on a midweek work night, and while it was a bit cramped, larger groups might find it challenging. The service was impressive—our waitress offered recommendations for some milder dishes for a few of the guys. The chef even suggested we reduce our starter order, thinking it might be too much for us (a decision that favored the diners rather than the restaurant's bottom line). We ordered a variety of meals, all of which arrived quickly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! Service: Dine-in."
