"I visited this restaurant on Wednesday evening with friends to dinner and what a great experience. the team goes the extra mile to make sure that they eat and enjoy the atmosphere. eating is exceptional and they have the choice of buffet selection, of which was excellent or the al la carte menu. either they will not be disappointed. they make sure that if there is something they want differently, there is no problem, I wanted a dish that was not on the menu and had an additional heat with meat. wow a fiery little number on our table appeared and all I can say is that the curry was fantastic and hit all the big marker set (picture below). many thanks for a wonderful experience and we...read more"

"Called into this restaurant without a booking on what was, clearly, a busy Friday evening. They managed to seat us but, fairly, told us we had only an hour or so to eat as it had already been reserved. There's a wide-ranging menu with something to suit most palates. My wife went for the satay chicken and we shared a plate of noodles. Hers was lovely, as were the noodles. I went for the king prawns in ginger, garlic and lemongrass (which was described as moderate heat on the menu). Such classifications are subjective and, to me, it was quite hot but, having said that, the flavours were immense. Beautifully cooked, the prawns were exactly right, not overcooked as in so many other places, and the blend of garlic, ginger and lemongrass was perfect with each being perfectly balanced. If heat is an issue I'm sure the chef could tone down the chillies but, for flavour, it was phenomenal."

"I used to think of this place as the best Indian in East kilbride we get Christmas Dinner every year from them and order at least once ever few months, but I will not be ordering again. Over the last year they have massively went down hill the korma sauce is literally like water now with hardly any taste and the sweet nans are terrible can't even call it a sweet nan anymore as there is basically no filling. It's a shame it has went so badly but unfortunately will not be ordering again as are other Indians in East kilbride that are better than it. "We ordered takeout from this restaurant, and the food was delicious. The staff is consistently respectful and polite. We felt that the last bill was a bit high, but we attributed it to a possible price increase and still went ahead and paid. However, when we got home with our takeout, we noticed that they had included poppadoms and some dipping sauces that we hadn’t requested. While I initially thought they were a complimentary gesture, we later realized we were charged for them. This felt a bit cheeky, which is why we decided to drop a star in our rating."

"Food was delicious me and my husband ate there 11 nov to celebrate his birthday arrived at 6.45 intended an early meal to leave to meet friends for drinks after however the service was so so slow they prioritised larger groups we waited over 30 minutes for deserts then when we asked for the bill the server came back to our room x3 to ask the larger party questions but still not bringing card machine as requested we then got fed up of waiting and paid at the check in desk left at 9.40 ! Leaving no time for drinks with friends 2,45hr for 2 course meal"

"I had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The pub has a warm and inviting atmosphere, with excellent real ale that is clearly well-maintained. The menu offers a good variety of options, and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious fish finger sandwich I had for lunch. Overall, I was very impressed with this charming pub and appreciated how well it was managed. I look forward to returning soon for their Sunday roast. The price per person ranges from £1–10."

"Absolutely incredible, best Indian food I've ever had, great cosy atmosphere and brilliant service. My brother and I went for the 5 course taster menu for only £39.95 per person. This included homemade poppadoms and dips, followed by a large dosa to share, 3 starters each (fish, chicken and lamb chop), a small yoghurt puree, 3 smaller portions each of different curries (prawn, chicken, lamb) served with dahl, paratha and rice, and finally 3 desserts each. We were amazed by the quantity of food and the variety of flavours, so glad to have found this place and hope to visit again. Parking: Free parking in nearby car parks after 7pm."

"I recently had my first Scottish Indian meal in about 15 years, and I was not disappointed! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great for a dinner setting. The price per person was between £20-30, which I found reasonable for the quality of food. I highly recommend trying the Naan, Chicken Pakora, and Lamb Desi dishes. Overall, I would give this restaurant a 5-star rating for their delicious food and top-notch service."

"Ate in here recently and was left very underwhelmed. The food was less than average. We eat enough of this kind of food to know that each type of dish looks different from another. Everything we ordered could have been the same thing; meat sat in brown oily sauce. The taste did nothing to change my mind. The staff were pleasant enough as was the service provided but didn’t give any kind of impression that they had been trained properly or knew what they were doing. There was confusion over what 0% lager was or if they even had it and the person who took our order couldn’t tell us anything about the various dishes because she hadn’t eaten them. The cleanliness was questionable. The person who was waiting our table saw something on one of the plates and decided to wipe it with her hand, then the sleeve of her jumper before setting it down in front of my husband. There is not sufficient ventilation. During our meal we noticed that the air was filled with a haze and my eyes were stinging. It was coming straight out from the kitchen, and filtering through to the restaurant seating area. The floor tiles near the kitchen, stairs and toilet area are dangerously slippery. They weren’t wet, they were greasy! Our clothes smelled strongly of cooking oil and a week later it still lingered on our coats. The decor is shabby and there is no ambiance or atmosphere with subtle lighting etc. Felt a little like sitting in a waiting room. Over all not a great experience and left us wishing we hadn’t bothered."

"Called in on a day out in Truro. We were searching for somewhere to eat, and quite by luck we came across Chorleys. We looked at the menu outside, and were drawn in by that and the amazing aromas wafting out. Three of us each had a different burger, and shared some peri peri fries, which had a lovely kick to them, and the crispiest onion rings we’ve ever tasted. The food was of the highest quality, and the gentleman serving us was extremely polite and good at his job. We explained that one of our group had a dairy allergy, which was no problem and the cheese on that persons burger was exchanged for a dairy free alternative. We are visiting Cornwall again in a few weeks, and will travel down to Truro from Bude to eat there again. "This restaurant use to be excellent at lunch time offering a set two course meal with authentic dishes to choose from. Having visited recently I was So disappointed as they offered a Buffet lunch which would suggest you got to select from a buffet table,...one would not expect too much for the (I think it was) per person but the buffet came straight from the kitchen on a side plate, the starter in the form of a couple of pieces of chicken which had no authentic Indian flavour, there was a tiny chicken wing, two little chicken nuggets? and I think it was a pakora all cold. Having asked us if we wanted vegetables or meat for the main again three dishes appeared from the kitchen all chicken, I asked the waiter what curries they were, he pointed to each one and said sweet, medium and spicy, having tasted the sauces they were like nothing I've ever tasted from an Indian restaurant, the portion of rice for two was measly and the Nan Bread just acceptable. I didn't think much of the service as I felt the waiter didn't want me to ask question. It's obvious that a budget has come into play because of lost revenue due to the pandemic but what false economy as people will not return if this is what is presented it's insulting to offer such poor, inadequate food when once it was excellent. I doubt I shall ever go back there."

"Why haven't I rated this place yet? It’s exceptional! I've been recommending this pub to people for years. The pub fare is under £10, and it’s simply delicious! Everything is always fresh, hot, and tasty; I've never had a bad meal here. The portions of meat during the Sunday carvery are huge, so make sure you're hungry! If you enjoy sprouts, you must try them in black pepper sauce—a creation from the talented and obviously passionate chef. I promise you'll end up craving them!"

"Beautiful little restaurant, food was amazing all plant based and sugar free, staff were lovely and had the best pancakes and avo on toast EVER!!, used to go to another vegan place in Leicester but this tops that by far, so healthy Louisa’s will now be my regular place when I’m the city centre. "An absolute disgrace! We made reservations for the evening a few months ahead at 6.30. We were suddenly requested to come at 5. We told the owner that that was not possible, after some bizarre emails we did arrive a bit earlier than our original plan, around 6, looking forward to a nice evening amongst a group of friends, who also were eating there that night. But we got astonned as immediately we were told to leave within an hour!!! We told that that was unacceptable, and got the reply that it was ok. But it clearly was not... The entrees were put on the table within 5 minutes, the mains immediately after that. Entrees still on the table.... further we were fully ignored. After we finished the main they cleared the table and threw the check on it?!? I have never ever been threated this rude in any restaurant ever. With tears in my eyes we left while our friends came in to enjoy the extend dinner evening... And besides, the place was filthy, lady toilet not working, male toilet dirty and sticky ánd the food was quite bad.. the chicken was extremely dry, the spicy dish was not spicy and all courses were mostly sauce with only a few grams of chicken/prawn. The water was warm and there was no coffee or tea. This place is a disgrace and should be avoided, shame on you Taj Mahal!"

"Fantastic place to eat in all respects. Don’t go expecting Pattaks or shop bought paste curry, this is the real deal! Served from a small container ship by a family business set in a lovely bay. Remember to buy mango chutney to go with your fantastic food. The sometimes lengthy wait for your food is a testament to how good it is. I was reading some of the negative reviews on here and it’s clear these people don’t get out much and should stick to there fish and chips."

"We got a takeaway and it was genuinely the most shocking rip off. We had soup and a sesame prawn toast to share. The toast was like dolls house food. It was 1 quarter cut into 4. Genuinely shocking. The soup was 'ok ', but the oyster sauce dish was incredibly sweet with little other flavour. I would never use them again and would advise others to try elsewhere."

"I've been coming here for many years. Sy as an owner has done an amazing job with the Mahan, the last thing anyone expected in Joydens Wood was a takeaway Indian restaurant! Friendly guy and always happy to chat. Having just demolished a Lamb Naga with Peshwari Naan, it's probably the best takeaway I've had in a long time. The Restaurant itself is always spotless and well maintained. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
