"The staff were really well prepared for the reopening. Our waiter could not have been more helpful. He even showed us how to claim our free drink on the app. The food, drink and music were perfect. Sadly because we knew cash wouldn’t be accepted we took none and there was no way for us to tip the waiter via the app or card machine! They will accept cash for tips so I’d be prepared next time as they really deserved it!"

"we had a great time in cru, my birthday contract, which was amazing eating, the personal was excellent and attentive, I loved the white wine, best I had, I like white and often have hardships to get a medium, not dry. that was delicious and really perfect for me. it was very cool in the restaurant, so was also comfortable for me as the temperature was unusually high outside. we will definitely come back and tell friends about it."

"This used to be one of our favourite places to eat having visited many times. I don’t know if there has been a change of management but the staff appear to have changed. Most of them unfriendly and bordering on rude. One blonde girl was terrible, never smiled or made eye contact once. I watched her interactions with others and it was the same with everyone. As much personality as a plank of wood ! We felt rushed through the meal with the desert menu arriving the minute the plates were removed , we were asked 5 times in the space of a few minutes if we wanted a dessert and seemed very put out that we wanted some time before ordering. Needless to say they won’t be getting our custom again !"

"this restaurant is very rated so I tried. I'm afraid it was a disappointment. I ordered a steak medium rare and it came well done and the chips were “flabby”. they replaced them without quibble and the replacements were much better tasty steak, but the chips were not yet crispy, but they were better). I guess I chose the wrong one. the pizzas looked good. the ambiente is strong and bright and it would not make a good place for a romantic dinner, service was very good."

"Waited 4 minutes for them to answer the phone and was immediately told 'to hold on '. Waited a further 18 minutes listening to them take orders from people in the restaurant, before putting the phone down. Phoned again later to tell them how frustrated I was, and was told 'it was because they were busy. ' Gave them an order but when I asked for a delivery they told me I shouldn 't have phoned them but deliveroo. A complete waste of time and showed no concern. Don 't know how good the food is as I never got any!"

"on a busy Saturday morning in the center of york we came to bella italia. we had no idea that they are a chain decoration pleasant, greeting very friendly and welcoming. we just didn't want a problem. window table excellent coffee-hot and tasteful. we chose two more coffees and concentrated in cheesecakes and tiramisu- both fresh and delicious. dean martin crawled in the background, busy, but not hectic - a perfect place to stop and charge. very good coffee if you can't drink another tee! viva bella italia!"

"Despite a booking for 7.30, we were told that we cannot order for another 15 minutes. we ordered to wait drinks, but even a past. main course eat ok when we finally get it. when ordering gloomy (cookie teig dessert) we were told that many can check out.....the waiting queue and it was in order when it arrived, we believe that it was not completely cooked, but since it was clear that the employees turned away and ready to delete the restaurant (approximately 9,20) we paid the bill and left. pleasant staff, but disappointing food/"

"It started very well and after ordering some wine and starters felt pressured to order the main meal with frequent visits by I assume the head waiter. I kept delaying my main as I wanted to enjoy post lockdown with my wife and then was reminded that they needed the table by 130pm. My booking was midday, there was no reference to when the table was needed at time of booking, so couldn’t understand the problem. We don’t lounge around so normally finish within 1.5 to 2 hrs maximum so didn’t need to have been pressured to order. It got to a point I said if we run late put the pizza in a takeaway box and we can sit on the park bench and eat. This isn’t Michelin food it’s a pizza restaurant!"

"Service wasn't great al all . The main dIsh, pizzas, arrive before starter The focaccia was flat bread. It was 4 of us and 1 of the pizzas arrive after the other 3 had already finished eating and the waitress removed the plates, leaving one of us eating on his own Nice pizza but over rated and over prized. There was a DJ playing and the music and the noise from the bar was so loud we couldn't even talk."

"Stopped here for drinks with a friend while we were exploring the pubs in the area. It wasn't too busy when we first walked in but it filled up very quickly an hour later. It's more spacious than its counterparts along the street and the crowd is pretty friendly. A jam session was on the get go a little after we'd stepped in, which really added to experience there. Just a nice little touch to the evening; it's nice to read that they do things like this frequently. Haven't been to the downstairs section yet, but I've heard good things!"

"The food was terrible! An hour wait for food then when it came, it was overcooked or tasted awful! Calamari was like rubber so it was sent back, the waitress was great and offered a different starter in its place. Said 2-5 minutes but it arrived 10 minutes later and even that wasn't cooked great. Staff were great and apologetic for the poor food due to weak kitchen staff that couldn't keep up with online orders as well as orders in the restaurant . People who had booked tables were having to be asked to come back later as they were running late and didn't have tables for them. Awful night and came out very hungry and unhappy as it was our last night out on our short break staying in Stratford upon Avon. As stated staff were great and we were refunded for the starter we sent back and one of the uneaten main meals ."

"I am very disappointed with Santaniello pizzeria, booked a table and first of all the staff made seat outside that I was happy, but not happy because no light on our table, so we asked to move table, outside the table was with out table clothes, was dark. Considering that we had table at 20.00 by the time we get the order we wouldn't see our food, we asked for chips and told us only, olives garlic bread as start, one of the staff was very rude, told us if not happy we could leave!!!!! Pizza was awful!! I am sorry but stay away from this restaurant!!!"
