"The outdoor seating is positioned perfectly to provide great views over the canal. Indoors is absolutely stunning and pays homage to the building's origins. Finally, the food... Wow! Incredible, couldn't fault the food. It was well presented and tasted amazing! The provided doggy treats were a hit with ours eating his body weight in them. Overall, 10/10 and definitely on my list of places to visit again!"

"I visited the angel for for my partners birthday we was a group of 38 including 12 children The staff were super accommodating all our food arrived at the same time , all our orders were correct and hot which is not an easy task getting nearly 40 meals ready at the same time. We had such a great night the atmosphere of the pub is great the staff are very friendly and helpful and food was really good."

"We decided to dine at Grange Farm for our Friday dinner instead of eating locally in the city center, opting to spend £16 on a taxi to get there. While we typically have no complaints about the food at Grange Farm, on this occasion we were a bit disappointed. My partner ordered the Lamb Shank for £20 and felt that the price-performance ratio did not meet our expectations. The dish lacked sufficient vegetables, leaving him wanting more. I chose the traditional gammon and eggs, priced at £8 less than the Lamb Shank, but still found it underwhelming compared to similar dishes we have had at Greene King Pubs. Despite this, our waitress Jess was fantastic, the bar staff were attentive as usual, and the drinks helped to salvage the evening despite the disappointing food. We suggest that the chef reconsider the offerings of both dishes to improve the overall dining experience."

"We choose Grange Farm as a preferred opportunity for our Friday dinner instead of eating locally in the city centre. (Choosing to pay £16 to get you by taxi) Usually we would not have any complaints about the food. My partner ordered the Lamb Shank and for the price of £20 we had the impression that the price-performance ratio did not meet the usual standards of Grange Farm. He had to attack for vegetables because there was hardly anything served with the dish. I went with a traditional gammon and eggs, and I also felt underwhelmed by him (even if it was at least £8 less), as we often had in Greene King Pubs and had better. Needless to say, our waitress Jess was brilliant, bar staff were as attentive as they are usually and how the alcohol flows, the disappointing food does not ruin our night. Perhaps the chef could revise the offer of both dishes!"

"Have revised my review, big improvement. Oh Dear, very slow food service, we arrived for lunch behind a family with six children so were warned about a wait, however 45 mins later sitting with cold coffees, we were still waiting, staff members who ordered after us had their food before us, the same group who I presume were management embarked on a loud boisterous conversation drowning out our quiet chat totally. Oh and the food was dry and tastes, £17 could have been better spent. I think the main problem is the one kitchen staff member is trying to fulfil Uber eats orders as well as store customers. New management now in place much much better nowadays very quick service from pleasant staff."

"This charming traditional country pub has ample parking available. We made a reservation for dinner on a Sunday night, and although we were the only diners, the pub area was quite lively. The dining space is completely separate from the pub/bar area, ensuring that all social distancing measures are properly followed. It was clean, and the service was prompt and attentive. The fish and chips we ordered were delicious. While the selection of fruit juices was somewhat limited, the owners were very accommodating. The music created a pleasant atmosphere, though it was a bit loud, it didn't detract from our experience. "I made a booking with the restaurant based on the menu but when we arrived we got a completely different menu due to Covid and being outside am guessing...but this should have been stated on the website! The bench sitting was not expected as well as i had not been to the restaurant before, was not comfortable at all. I also rang in advance to find out if there were outside heaters as i was bringing kids, was told there are gazebos and heaters only to find no gazebo's with limited heaters spaced out randomly between tables. The food was served in take away boxes and wooden cutlery, so this was uncomfortable to eat. Food and drinks took long to be served and we waited ages for the bill. To conclude, we will not be going back."

"We went here for dinner on our first night in Edinburgh because of the story of the dog Bobby. It was wonderful to see the statue and learn more about it, but the pub itself was a bit of a disappointment. The chef was finishing early so we were brought our starter and mains at the same time, and no opportunity to order a dessert. This was 8pm on a Friday night, so would have expected to be able to eat eithout the rush at that time. The staff were very friendly, but the service was quite slow. The food was okay, but nothing too special and the atmosphere was a bit dead. There are other better places to try scottish classics in the city."

"The staff at this restaurant are incredibly welcoming, friendly, polite, and professional. They were very accommodating, allowing us to charge our phone next to our table. "slow service and not good eating. my burger had no sauce at all and was therefore very dry. my wife ordered a baked kartoffel and others than the fact that they did not store enough for their menu, the cook did not know how to prepare a baked kartoffel appropriately. it was hard and the sea fish my wife had decided to put back mayo. the cutlery was not sufficiently clean as we could see that it streaky brander over them all suspect that they were not too bad with clean water apart from the chips."

"Great to see somewhere with a lot of vegan options. The veggie breakfast with beans instead of eggs was delicious. The cheesy chips are also great. I wasn't a fan of the vegan cheese sandwich (it was the kind of vegan cheese that isnt nice unless it's melted). They also brought it with non-vegan coleslaw which they did swap to a vegan version but I had to question if it was vegan first. I think this place is fairly new and it seems like they are trying to be vegan friendly. I would definitely go back to try the pizza/burger."

"Last Sunday, we were in search of a Sunday roast and ended up enjoying the best one we've ever had. It was so impressive that we decided to return the following Sunday, and we were not disappointed. "We have visited the Monsal Head hotel a number of times, and the food and service had always been very good. However on this occasion we arrived to find all the entrances to the hotel with signs on saying 'wedding reception guests only '. After entering and ringing to find out what was going on, a lady came and told us our booking had been moved to the Stables bar. On this visit the bar was completely empty, there was only one member of staff behind the bar, who seemed to be more interested in cleaning than us. The food was good as usual (same kitchen), however we booked a table at the restaurant so we could have a good evening meal, to be waited on, and to have a lovely evening. This was clearly lacking we should have been notified before we arrived that we would not be in the main restaurant so we could have made a decision as to whether we were still wanting the table. We have visited the bar in the past and it has been very lively and full. Had the bar in the evening been this busy our evening would have been far, far from what we wanted. A real shame we will be considering if we will come back again."

"Beer choice is getting better and it looks nice inside. Prices also very good. Need a couple more beer choices I would say. Slightly ruined by a group of guys shouting and swearing at the football on TV, even when there were young kids around and they weren't told to drop the swearing. However, I guess there's not much the staff can do about that and it's not their fault, plus I did decide to go in there when a match was on so can't complain too much. Also there might be a lack of seating as there's now a darts room where tables used to be. If somebody is in there playing, there's not much room to sit. Overall, decent pub."
