"The Boathouse is a very inviting establishment with friendly staff. Our waiter, Raj, was not only excellent but also had a great sense of humour. When I joked about eating dinner on one of the super yachts, he politely responded that it didn't belong to the restaurant owners. The food was excellent; I ordered the Steak Burger while my sister had the salmon. I highly recommend this place. It was my 61st birthday and Raj surprised me with a gold balloon that said "happy birthday." The service was superb, and Raj is a huge asset to the company. I will definitely be returning."

Another wedding anniversary spent at this lovely hotel. Even though it was busy our waitress, Monica was a sweetheart. So accomodating, cheerful and made our stay enjoyable. Infact all the staff were lovely. If you want a bit of luxury, sea views, quiet time then this is the place to stay Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 5 View menu

A little disappointed for the price. Had to wait 20min to check in as no formal reception and only 1 person on serving meals and drinks. Room was looking a bit tired, handle coming of bathroom door and tv did not work as on button for remote was broke. Had to switch off fridge as it was so loud. However, room was clean and bed was comfortable Rooms: 3

I called in for a drink with a friend. Maintenence staff were completing work in the kitchen. It was very noisy. It ruined my evening. I asked for a refund of my drinks. I was told they didn't have authority to do this. I asked for a managers name and got no response. 4 staff stood around me. I felt bullied and intimidated. A female member of staff was very patronising. Service: 1

Despite not having any knowledge of our booking upon arrival, we found our room was very spacious with a wonderful view of Southampton Water. Our evening meal was fantastic and great value. Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Full English was not that big and had to pay additional £5.50 for it. Staff are very attentive and courteous despite English being very limited at times. Overall a very enjoyable stay. View menu

I went to this restaurant for a friend's birthday dinner. I ordered the chicken burger without tomatoes due to my allergy. The dish came with a salad that had tomatoes in it. When I mentioned to the waitress that I couldn't have tomatoes, she simply picked them off with her fingers in front of me. I was quite surprised and decided not to eat the salad. Overall, the service was disappointing and I do not plan on returning. Service: 1 Location: 4

We stayed in a charming room with a beautiful view of the marina, but there was a need for more attention to detail in the cleaning. We found there were very limited extras provided, such as only a few tea bags and individual milk pots instead of a jug of milk. The breakfast offered was continental, but you could pay extra for hot food. There was some noise at night from the area below the rooms overlooking the marina. The location was convenient, with a Waitrose and several restaurants within a 5-minute walk. Overall, there was plenty of free parking available.
