"I recently celebrated my grandmother's birthday here with my family. The service was a bit slow, but we did visit on a Saturday. The food was fresh and served hot! I really enjoyed my appetizers, the jalapeño poppers, although the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste—I have diabetes, so I have to be mindful of my sugar levels. I ordered the Texan stack burger meal, which was good, but I expected the burger to be a bit larger. I also loved the skin-on chips. Overall, my family and I had a great time!"

"We stopped by for a meal before heading to the cinema and had made a reservation through an agency, but unfortunately, Chiquitos hadn't received the notification (a downside for Open Table). However, the hostess at Chiquitos was absolutely delightful and quickly arranged a table for us without any hassle. She made us feel very welcome, and the rest of the staff were also friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, and we experienced no delays, making it easy to enjoy our meal before the movie. I would definitely recommend it for a pre- or post-cinema outing. It had a lively atmosphere that seemed perfect for dining with friends. We'll definitely be back!"

"Absolutely disgusted with this place!! Arrived for our reserved table on time to be told they had given it away to a coach party! They seated us then made us wait whilst they sorted another table for our party of 8. Drinks were ordered and 5 of us were served while 3 of us had to wait until we reminded a waiter they had no drinks. We then asked if we could order from the kids menu for our 2 15 year olds who were with us and Cath who is not a big eater. We were told we were not allowed to order from kids menu as its only for up to 11 years old. Our food started to arrive at 9.25pm and 15 minutes later at 9.40 some of us were still waiting. Plates were served with cold food, items missing, sour veg and microwaved! When we asked to speak to the manager for the second time we waited 10 minutes before she came over and her first words were whats your problem now? . We told her we were not eating any of the food and would only pay the drinks bill as were unhappy with the service, the food and her lack of customer care. Rude pushy american who thought she would frighten us by threatening us with security if we did not pay full bill. Security arrived after we paid drinks and she told us we were barred feom fountain park. Not according to the 2 security guards we ain 't. In short,avoid this place like the plague!! Shocking service and no customer care"

"Lovley waitress serving us.... felt sorry to complain! Asides from hour wait between courses others kids in restaurant). Both mains came out, pasta and risotto. Both over cooked- pasta tasted ok but the waitress could see that fungi chicken Risotto was just like mush and very kindly offered to replace it.... accepted, and it came back tasting ok but littered with chicken sinew/fat (as per picture above).... "However, we did experience some issues with service timing. Our second pitcher of margaritas took over 20 minutes to arrive, leaving us with little time to enjoy them before heading to the movie. This was particularly disappointing, as the restaurant wasn't crowded at the time. As the others rushed to get the movie tickets, I ended up paying the bill, which took an additional 10 minutes to process. This made me late for the film, which was frustrating and detracted from the overall experience. On a positive note, the manager kindly removed the second pitcher from our bill without mentioning it, which was a nice gesture since we hadn’t consumed much of it. I don’t want to come off as overly critical of the staff, as they were all very friendly and accommodating. Perhaps just a bit more efficiency could enhance the experience?"

"My husband and I visit here fairly regularly with our 2 year old daughter and we always really enjoy it. On our latest visit we did have quite a wait for our mains as we were informed there was a new chef taking over in the kitchen. We didn't mind too.much as we were happy chatting and could see it was quite busy and our server (who I think may have been a manager) was apologetic and waived the cost of our daughters meal as a good will gesture which was very kind. When the food arrived it was perfect so no complaints there! We have been many times already and will be back again."

"Extortionately overpriced for basic pub grub, plus poor service and no allergen menu. First of all, my wife and I regularly frequent very high end establishments. This isn’t what you would expect at this price point. The location is beautiful, the staff are well dressed and courteous, however, the decor on the wild carrot is tired and the food is 50/50… read on… On arrival we were seated at a dark table with no view, when there were plenty of nicer tables it was quite quiet . We shortly asked to move which was a waste of of our time. My wife has an egg allergy and was horrified to discover they had no allergen menu they could share with us, plus the two waiters said they had no idea about allergens so had to check with the chefs each time, which made us nervous. I’m fairness the cocktails were good. The Wild Carrot starter, which was meant to have rainbow radishes and crudités was a £0.75p £1 bag of mixed leaf salad you’d get in a supermarket with some cherry tomatoes and sliced carrot, no radish. The fish and chips had thick undercooked doughy batter and they hadn’t removed the skin on the fish. The chips were supermarket chunky McCains type frozen chips and undercooked. For £28 I expect far, far better. This was more £18 pub grub at best. My mushroom toast was excellent and the mushroom pasta was also good but the side of fries for which I didn’t ask the cost was £8 !! they were limp and flavourless, essentially KFC/McDonalds level when not fresh, small portion too. My wife left about 30 40% of her food it was so bad, I ate mine as I’m more stubborn, but in hindsight, it really wasn’t worth the money as experiences of that price point should be equal, certainly not compatible to pubs and takeouts. The correct cutlery wasn’t laid out and our water wasn’t topped up once. To make matters worse, they added 15% to the bill but didn’t bring the itemised bill, just put the total on the card machine and brought that, at this point we just paid up and made for the exit. A totally embarrassing set up with incompetent staff and horrendous poor quality produce and cooking. Felt like daylight robbery and ruined our day. Read the other reviews, there’s a running theme for being overpriced and disappointing here and it’s letting what looks to be a very nice hotel down. Everything needs changing here except the cocktails and the mushroom toast starter. Also, other reviews are correct, wild kids everywhere, no wild carrots in sight. AVOID."

"I had booked here for my partner's birthday, we also knew that we would have an amazing experience here. I had informed them that it was his birthday when booking our table. When we arrived we were welcomed and taken to our table, the menu looked good, our hostess Andrea was attentive and very lovely. The food was amazing, there was a good range of vegetarian meals and when my gut loving bowl arrived I couldn't have been happier, the scallops were enjoyed by my partner and eldest son and even though I don't eat them, they did look good. Once our dessert order was taken, we had a chance to chat, they then bought out the desserts and the staff in the kitchen had taken the time to create a lovely birthday message for my partner's one. We cannot emphasise how lovely The Gun is, Andrea was superb and all I can say is thank you for making the lunch such a lovely event."

"We have not been to the Gun at Gun Hill since a refurbishment but the Freshly Cooked Pizza was excellent, the best Pizza I have had for a while, we sat near the open fire which was cosy and the Gun has a nice authentic feel. "We arrived at the time we had booked, they didn’t have our table reserved so they tried to seat us on another terrace, not the one booked. We asked to be seated on the upper terrace and they managed to seat us but they were very obviously annoyed, and a little rude. Ordered starters and mains which all came out together and when we said we ordered them as starters and mains were told “well that’s not what the order says” they sent them back and whilst we were eating our starters they asked us 4 times if we had finished. Hey presto when the mains came out they were very obviously reheated. There was hot salad on my plate! All the food was going to the wrong tables, wrong orders, the table next to us waited an hour for their drinks. Starters were lovely, mains were not. We ordered more drinks which they got wrong twice, so we left straight after eating what we could. To sum it up an awful evening, almost amusingly so, as it was chaos, the staff minus two lads working were rude and the food was kept under a hot plate. We won’t be returning such a shame as it’s a beautiful setting. One word of advice to the management please ask your waitresses with really long hair to tie it back, there was hair everywhere and we could hear other people saying the same!"
