"My first afternoon tea at Oakley Court about three years ago was wonderful. I took my Mum and she enjoyed all the quirky refinements that came with the experience i.e. quirky tea cosy. The next time, a couple of years ago, the refinements were no longer there, and this last experience on Saturday December was not special at all. There was little or no ambience, the sandwiches tasted like they had been prepared some hours before our visit, the cakes were tasteless and lacking in variety and, whilst the scones were served warm, they were dry and also tasteless. The raspberry jam was also very runny and not like a preserve at all. I am not a tea drinker, but the friends I was with are. They were served a couple of pots of tea each, so were able to keep refilling their cups. I asked for hot chocolate and was brought one small cup of my requested beverage, which was tepid at best. I was not offered another cup, so had to attract the attention of a waitress to request a pot of hot chocolate so I too had the opportunity of refilling my cup. Again, the hot chocolate was served only just warm and went cold very quickly. I feel very sad that Afternoon Tea at Oakley Court is no longer the treat it used to be, especially as the hotel is set in such a lovely location. It is certainly extremely overpriced for what you get and I have no plans to return for afternoon tea again in the future."

"In the end, we opted for breakfast since we were starving, but later that day, we found it impossible to secure a place for Christmas dinner. Consequently, we had to settle for room service at our hotel around the corner, which was incredibly disappointing. Moreover, while we were there, the staff at 11 Cadogan Gardens appeared overwhelmed with preparations for the Christmas meal. We had to ask for basic items, such as a fork; it took five minutes after our breakfast was delivered for someone to check on us. I ordered a mimosa and was served a flute of orange juice that tasted like it had no champagne in it. To my surprise, ten minutes later, I received a separate flute of champagne! Apparently, I was supposed to mix them myself, but no one communicated that to me. While breakfast was acceptable, it definitely wasn’t worth the equivalent of around $75 USD."

"I bought challah bread and ginger cookie today. When I order ginger cookie, one staff didn’t understand my word, and I repeated “one ginger cookie, please” politely. But she looked at me rudely and she just reached her arm holding cookie to my friend, so my friend had to aproach to her and received the cookie. We were embarrassed. The challa bread was normal, but it isn’t worthy. The ginger cookie is just ginger and flour taste. I will never visit again."

"I'm afraid to say I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone , was left completely fuming with the service , the food and the overall approach by the staff at cafe football!! The so called manager Gabrielle or whatever her name is was rude from start to finish we booked our table for the Fa cup final but was told he had under two hours to eat and leave and couldn't extend our stay , the waiters were clueless and didn't understand why we wanted drinks after being seated for half hour im pretty sure it's human rights to be able to order a drink in a so called restaurant , the starters were below par and questionable , the Mains we ordered weren't what we asked for and when asking the so called manager why she couldn't be bothered to answer our questions , so I'm afraid to say after visiting cafe football before I wouldn't come back even if you paid me disgusting and I will be getting in touch with trading standards as we found dirty cuttery and glasses on our table and not even a sorry from staff very little care from all at cafe football!!! "I regret to say that I cannot recommend Cafe Football to anyone after my experience there. I was extremely dissatisfied with the service, the food, and the overall attitude of the staff. The so-called manager, Gabrielle, was rude from the moment we arrived. We had booked a table for the FA Cup final but were informed that we had less than two hours to eat and could not extend our stay. The waiters seemed clueless and were unable to comprehend why we wanted drinks after waiting for half an hour. It is basic human rights to be able to order a drink in a restaurant. The starters were subpar and questionable, and the main dishes we ordered were not what we had requested. When I asked the manager about this, she was dismissive and unhelpful. Overall, my experience at Cafe Football was so disappointing that I will not be returning, even if someone paid me. I will be contacting trading standards as we found dirty utensils and glasses on our table and received no apology from the staff. It is clear that there is a lack of care from all the staff at Cafe Football. I request that the restaurant be informed of my feedback as I am eager to hear their response."

"The place was nice and we was seated at our table, we had to ask for a Drinks Menu. We ordered our meals, starters and mains, the starters were nice apart from the scotch egg which had no runny egg( but was told beforehand that this was down to the bird flu) we ordered the OX cheek, 2 Wagu burgers and a fillet steak.. the ox cheek was very nice.. however the 2 wagu burgers, we wasn't even asked how we would like these before ordering and to come out and they were both burnt!.. The fillet steak was ok, but the meat had been cut in half to see if they had cooked it correct..the only reason we didn't complain is that we were receiving the food at 50%... the service wasnt the best.. TBH I dont normally write reveiws but Felt I had to on this occasion"

"A really lovely place to stay and eat. The staff are delightful and make so much effort to ensure your pleasure and satisfaction. My dining companion is deaf and it's the first place we've been where they ask how to say things using sign language. It really meant a lot. The food was excellent, clearly freshly prepared and home made. When we were there it was quiz night so we joined in. Only a few teams but it was a lot of fun with the great quiz master Adrian. "We were the first table to arrive for lunch. Started well with drink and food orders then all went down hill. We ordered 4 dishes between the 4 of us. Mine and my daughters order arrived and we waited for my husbands order but it was slow coming out so we started and both were cold and bland. We had finished our food and the last dishes still hadn’t arrived. It was 10 minuets after we had finished before my husbands arrived which he said was good in their defence. After a long wait they came to clear our plates and no pudding menu was offered so eventually we asked for coffee and was told they didn’t serve coffee I haven’t come across a restaurant that doesn’t serve coffee before. There was no apology for the delay and the restaurant didn’t start to fill up until after we had finished so don’t understand why the food and service was so bad. There are lots of restaurants in London so on this performance I wouldn’t recommend going to Mole."

"Food is tasty (not fantastic) and the cost of £10.90 for a take away of 1 main and 3 sides is on the pricey side. However my issue with this place is the way the food is served... slapped on a plate (or in a box) like a dogs dinner. I just went in there to get my lunch and had to ask the server to please not put the salad (that has oil and dressing) over my mains (pasta) and broccoli slide. She looked at me as if I club baby seals to death for a living. I made the mistake of wanting some hummus with my salad... Big mistake as this was slapped all over my pasta, broccoli and salad. I was not impressed and the box was dirty on the outside from the mess she made. She then closed the box and slapped this on the counter in disgust with a grunt, as if I had asked her the most awful thing in the world... Also, the food is cold, so if you get the pasta, chicken or veg sides it's not warm... it's cold! Suffice to say I won't be getting my food here again..."

"I've never had an insulting restaurant experience in my life. after a beautiful meal, with the exception that our medium-sized steak was burned to a crack, the restaurant had a problem with its card machine. after inserting my card it immediately said that the pencil has exceeded without the possibility to insert a pencil. After I tried three times, I asked if we could go to the next room to solve the machine problem from the table (which tried to finish her wein.) the first words the manager said while I looked seriously, did I have to call the police? I was absolutely shocked, insulted and understandably angry when I was a business owner and tried to take my employees for a nice meal. you have to pretend to smoke the place, or try not to pay while your card machine was the problem, is absolutely beyond the friend. I asked a manager and he said he was the manager! after additional argument where I had to demand that he retrieve the amount on the machine (I had to ask repeatedly) Apple pay worked well. I should also note that earlier in the evening a man at another table had the exact same issue and we heard him say he had no time to speak with a manager and wanted to pay only his bill with his card. I will not be back, and this restaurant must seriously consider training its employees in the elite. when they say they call the police on a customer when the card machine is not working crazy."

"A few days in Cheltenham found us visiting The Daffodil restaurant which had previously been highly recommended to us. The Daffodil is set down a side street just off Montpellier Gardens and away from the hustle and bustle of the main area and it proved we were quite fortunate to get a booking given the popularity of this place. A very smart venue with an ‘Art Deco’ feel which certainly makes this restaurant feel quite different to many other places we have dined at of late. An excellent menu and first class service makes this a place that anyone visiting Cheltenham must pay a visit. Without doubt, we would certainly head back to The Daffodil should we return to the Town. Don’t miss out."
