"Worst fish and chips for years. Ordered 3 cod plus 1 haddock and 2 large chips. 1 cod badly overcooked with batter burned and fish nearly solid. Other 2 cod slightly overcooked. Haddock perfect. Chips were badly overdone and tasted like oil not changed regularly. 34 Pounds total cost. Very poor and won't be returning. Used to be excellent now disgusting."

"Totally forgot to take pictures of the food we had brought because it was that good we ate it so quick !!! I was diagnosed coeliac last August and have been struggling with the GF diet, most of the foods I 've tried aren 't nice at all. Someone told me about Belgrave Chip Shop last week and having a full size GF menu, so I had to try it!! Well, we wasn 't disappointed at all when I say we, its because my husband who can eat anything off the menu, was tucking into my GF fish bites and GF chips. They were that good, he said he would have them over the normal menu We live the other side of Tamworth to Belgrave but will definitely, 100%, be making the trip when we fancy a 'chippy tea '. "I ordered via UberEats, and it was a disappointing experience. The food arrived stone cold and inedible. It seemed the food had been prepared and left sitting for a long time before being picked up by the delivery driver. To make matters worse, the food had a strange petrol or chemical taste that made it unpalatable. I would not recommend ordering from this establishment. The food quality was poor, and the delivery service failed to deliver the food in a timely manner and in an edible condition."

"I've always been here and never had a problem I'd say in the last few months the food is either always good or terrible as one minute it's yummy and then it's not. I've just order tonight which was donner meat with pitta bread and salad the salad looks like it's been there since yesterday the meat is too hard and the pitta is also just the same. Also ordered mayonnaise and its all runny and not even worth it. Will not be coming back as its always the same unless the same people are on but from what I have seen on the reviews there is always new staff every day"

"10 10 would return. I had battered haddock for supper and it was amazing. The portion is very generous. As a 165lb 75kg person I entered the restaurant starving and left full. Neither the fish nor the chips are too oily. The haddock was fresh, soft and steamy hot. Residing next to the water, you can get a beautiful window view of the boats. The servers were very friendly and initiates small talk (remember to tip them). The fitting is nice and the bathroom stalls are surprisingly clean. The only set back is the price. My meal plus coke cost £16 so this is not the best place for broke college students like me. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Definitely worth a visit."

"I visited this restaurant to try the food and initially had a negative impression due to its small size. However, when the food arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. I have never had such delicious food in the UK before. Impressed, I hired them for my daughter's mehndi ceremony at a hotel in Slough for 200 guests, who were all amazed by the quality and taste of the food. I plan to return tomorrow with my family to try more of their wonderful dishes such as malai boti, dam ka qeema, achari, halwa puri, and chaney. "I have been eating at this restaurant for years. It maintains its original way and vibe after the interior renovation, which made it much more vibrant and open to a larger sense of community. The price and amount is always a good deal. Short waiting time, small delivery fee, a variety of choices. I would highly recommend chicken nuggets, it has always been my final dish after a decent cod and chippy dinner. Also fish cakes are incredibly crispy! A must try if you are visiting."

"The food at this restaurant was freshly prepared, tasted authentic, and was absolutely delicious. The portions were generous and I particularly enjoyed the spicy dishes that Chris prepared. The service was excellent, both over the phone and in person. However, be prepared to wait a bit when you dine in as they take their time preparing each order. It is definitely worth the wait though. The staff, especially the young girls, were always friendly and attentive. Thank you for a great dining experience."

"We had a fantastic experience at an authentic Turkish kebab shop located conveniently near the city center and the new train station. For just under £17, we enjoyed decently portioned kebabs with chips and drinks. The unique aspect of the meat and bread being served separately actually worked well, and we particularly enjoyed the spicy chili sauce that accompanied the meal. Overall, a very satisfying dining experience."

"I ordered a Parmo, but was disappointed with the presentation and taste. The dish came in a pizza box with the chips on top, making it difficult to eat out of the flimsy box. The Parmo itself was overcooked, with a dark crumb on the bottom and dry meat. The chips were average, with some bits being overcooked. Overall, for £9.24 plus delivery, it wasn't a cheap meal. My wife's meal was okay, with similar issues regarding the quality of the chips. However, the chicken nuggets were plentiful. Overall, we found the meal to be pretty poor in comparison to other experiences we've had."

"We went to Pesto for a birthday dinner with a party of seven, and booked online. It had been a few years since our last visit, but it was better than ever. I had requested a table with good lighting due to one of our party being visually impaired, and we were seated at a round table by a window. The service was excellent - prompt but not intrusive, and our waitress was very patient as we perused the extensive menu. The food was delicious, catering to everyone from a nine-year-old to their grandfather. I highly recommend Pesto for good food, good service, and a pleasant atmosphere."

"While waiting for our food, I noticed that the bill was higher than expected. Upon checking the receipt, I saw that the prices were much higher than what was advertised on the board. Additionally, we had to order larger portions as the small portions were not available, but they did not honor the price of the small portions. I was also charged extra for being gluten-free, which was not mentioned when ordering or on the board. When I politely inquired about this discrepancy to a young lady, she rudely mentioned it was a service charge and implied that I should have known since I had been there before. The owner, who was her father, also came over and spoke to me in a disrespectful manner, telling me to leave if I didn’t like it. When I tried to explain that I was just questioning the bill, he became agitated and dismissive. After a tense interaction, I decided to speak with another staff member and expressed my dissatisfaction with the way I was treated. I was met with even more rudeness, as they offered me a refund and asked me to leave. The lack of customer service and appalling attitude of the staff made me realize that they did not value my patronage. The way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. I was so disappointed that I had traveled 20 minutes to return to this place. I promptly removed any previous positive reviews I had left and wrote this review to share my negative experience. I decided to try another restaurant, Chris’ fish chicken and ribs on Ongar road, and had a fantastic experience. The staff there were polite and accommodating, with no extra charge for gluten-free options. I was pleased to give my money to a place that truly values their customers."
