"We hadn't visited this restaurant in a couple of years and had good memories of it being a special place (we had brought guests here as it was at the top of our list of local restaurants), but our recent experience this week was disappointing. The staff member who greeted us at the door seemed disinterested in being at work, showing no signs of friendliness or engaging in any conversation throughout the evening, including when we paid the bill. First impressions are important. Unfortunately, the food was also lacking. Although the menu descriptions were intriguing with a variety of options, none of our appetizers or main dishes stood out - where were the promised flavors? Bruschetta without garlic or basil? Overall, the food was just "okay" but not worth the price. It seemed like cheap ingredients were used and corners were cut to save money. The restaurant still has a nice ambiance and I'm sure it's lively on weekends, but this historic place deserves better. We will be exploring other dining options in the future. It's a shame, as this restaurant has the potential to be truly special."

"Made to feel incredibly uncomfortable. Having just moved to the village from HH, we were really excited to enjoy a drink and some food at our new local. Upon arrival the welcome was cold at best. Asked whether we could start a tab, which was welcomed. We went back to the bar to order food, only to be told that they would like us to pay upfront. Odd but we went along with it and paid. Food was delivered, burger was rare but ate it nonetheless, it was okay. Lamb was decent. One of waitresses (Becky) was very nice and tried very hard but was overshadowed by someone who appeared to be the manager. Who came out on two separate occasions to tell us what we had left to pay for on a tab. Made to feel like we were thieves, I went inside to settle the one round remaining and we left. Shame… we had intended to spend the early evening there and hopefully the next years."

"Superb evening out with friends, plus they had live music tonight. Had an absolutely fabulous night. Very tasty, fresh food and great welcoming staff. Myself and my husband won best outfit, which was a bonus, we wore the Italian aprons! We were the only ones to dress up! If you have never visited this venue before, love fabulous food served by friendly, helpful staff, this is a MUST. Thank you to everyone for a memorable night. See you all again soon."

"We stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights as part of our first visit to Ironbridge. The town itself is a gem, with the museum sites obviously being the main attraction. We chose the White Hart as our base and were pleased with our choice. The room was lovely with a great view of the river, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfasts in the morning were 'straighforwards ' (no menu standard full English, but you could make any combination of the standard items but no 'smashed avo and poached egg ' type option). We had dinner here one night, and the other in the adjacent Thai restaurant. In the White Hart itself, the dinner was solid. Decent choice, well cooked and presented. Slight negative would have been the size of the wineglasses with the medium serve given, it felt a little like you were drinking out of a toothcup. For a bit of a classier experience they could have been larger but obviously this is a super minor 'gripe '. Very much recommend."

"This is a café and restaurant with a very nice charming atmosphere. The food is tasty and the price is good. The best is the decoration. It is diverse and you might think it does not fit but this is the special thing in here. If you don't like it when you enter, stay away. All others will love it and will always come back. Then, if you sit there and watch the time go by, drink your coffee and just enjoy life, you will leave full of energy."

"Cyprianus, Locksbottom is a great restaurant. The menu is varied with a few unusual dishes. A good wine list and wine by the glass. The staff are helpful and friendly. Only issue was that one starter was totally missed. However, rectified with apologies and taken off the bill. So all good. Very busy and therefore some noise, but it was only people noise so fine. Well worth a visit,"

"The Millstone is a disgrace and a shadow of its former self which is sad to see. Food when it eventually arrived was cold and served on cold plates to boot. Cappuccino was like dish water and we were. left to wait for cutlery all the time food getting colder. The whole experience was dreadful and I would not recommend this pub to anyone especially Sunday lunch. . I would like to add we had been a few weeks previous in the restaurant and the experience was totally different to the bad service and food served in the bar area. Get your act together manger and staff at the Millstone."

"Went in for a couple of drinks on Sunday night, i loved the theme of the bar and the decor, especially on the stair well heading upstairs and it was fantastic to see a salsa class (not sure if it was salsa or something else it added something a bit special. It had a proper authentic Cuban feel to it. We enjoyed ourselves and were keen to stay however, the deciding factor was the drinks. The drinks were okay...regrettably i can't say more than this. We had a tutti frutti and a pornstar martini which didn't really deliver. Not to worry, we then had a Kraken and diet coke and a vodka and diet coke, our go to drinks when we just want something familiar. Unfortunately we were let down by the post-mix. You could tell it wasn't the authentic Coca-Cola but some cheaper version. So based on this we moved bars. It is a great spot and i'd like to give it another go next time i'm in Sheffield but a couple of poor drinks let us down."

"This was our first visit. I have to remind myself that this is a training environment for students but there should be someone in charge, who is identifiable to direct the students on how to present a menu and how to place a dish in front of customers. However, four courses for £35, amuse bouche counted for one course. Amouse bouche lacked any seasoning, orzo starter, well cooked but again lacked seasoning. My wife had fish, Coley, which was nice. I had chicken breast on a bed of curry sauce with hassleback potatoes. My whole dish was luke warm at best, the curry sauce was overpowering, and the hassleback potatoes were not crispy. The chicken was lovely and moist and I ordered a side of triple cooked chips which were super hot, expensive at £4, I only wish the rest of my dish was that hot. I had cheese and biscuits which consisted of Brie, blue cheese and cheddar together with chutney. My wife had Pain Perdue which was well presented and tasty. The restaurant is more like a cafe, not cosy, so don't choose it if you want a romantic evening. Overall would I go again? probably not. If you are ever near the Lake district try to book a table in the restaurant at Kendal College. On a final note; there is parking on an evening next to the college. Drive up to the barrier and press the call button, security will let you in. The barrier opens automatically on exit."

"The restaurant was absolutely perfect. We got a great deal on Groupon - £29.99 for 3 courses for 2 people. The food was amazing and the portions were very generous. The atmosphere was lively and we were served by lovely ladies. We also had 2 cocktails and 2 espressos for just over £10 each. My husband loved his birthday surprise. The menu we ordered from was called the Groupon menu. It would be embarrassing to be seen on a date ordering from the Groupon menu, so I suggest being discreet about it."

"during my two-day trip in york I visited lucia on both nights! it was so nice on the first day that my mother and I had to go back before we went home! from sweet interieur to the amazing menu and delicious food, to friendly staff. it was all perfect! they have a very extensive separate vegan menu in the offer when they mention that they are vegan at the arrival. it has a wide range of starters, netzen and a dessert option. in the first night my mother and I both had the Pasta option with the courgettes and olives; it was delicious, my mother had it on both nights! the portions are really decent ash! super filling still great prices for the amount and quality they get! on the second night I got the fungi pizza that was huge and really delicious! the vegan cheese was perfect (as I usually hate vegan pizza because the cheese can be rough). it was so big that I couldn't finish it! the teig and the beats were beautiful. there were so many other things I wanted to try like gnocchi, ravioli and more! I also had a side of twirl rings with my pasta and it was a large portion size and they were lush! really crispy panic fried; just delicious! so many vegan side options too! there is only a vegan dessert that is a cheesecake, but there is also a series of ice creams! the personal is so beautiful here and the restaurant is so clean and has an amazing mood! loved and would recommend to anyone who visits york; vegan or not! we also cried to our waitress, sophie, who recognized us and served us both nights; she was beautiful, if I could give 5 stars, I would!"

"An old fashioned Italian restaurant that has obviously been successful for many years with a loyal local clientele. The decor was ok if somewhat tired but, as said, has to be successful so why change? The owner is a great guy, larger than life and very accommodating and funny. His second is a little less outward going and does not seem to enjoy his job much but could be it was just a bad day for him which after the last number of months is entirely understandable.I had mussels, which were excellent, and herself a caprese salad the quality of the tomato and mozzarella was not the greatest plus it was swimming in too much balsamic dressing (which, he pointed out to us, is how he likes it personally). For mains, herself had a really excellent seared lamb and lamb risotto from the specials and she loved it. I tried a little and have to agree it was excellent. I had Zuppa de pesci which was pleasant enough but the star of the show, large prawns, were somewhat over cooked and slightly powdery to my taste.Having had excellent dinners in two local restaurants, overall it was a disappointing last night’s stay in Seaford softened by some good cooking and watching the host at work. The wine list, incidentally, is good and would recommend the dry house Rose and the Primitivo which was excellent!"

"I had a challenging experience at this restaurant. I have visited many times in the past, but this was my first visit in about 5 years. The food was good, but not outstanding, and the staff were all friendly and efficient. However, something was missing. We arrived at 7:30pm on a Thursday and the restaurant was full. By 8:30pm, we were the only table left and by 9:00pm, we were being offered coffee and last orders. Half of the staff had already left and the remaining staff had their coats on. It seems like the new normal is to eat early and go home. It was not the lively "night out" experience I had been hoping for."

"I had a fantastic and unexpected evening at this restaurant. I had never been before, but I will definitely be returning. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was top-notch. Despite being busy, the atmosphere was relaxing. The staff were friendly and accommodating, earning an A+ and five stars in my book."

"I took my mother to the Two Sisters restaurant for her birthday last Sunday. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"great pub with fantastic dining and drinks menus. versatility and the best place to eat in the hever castle area. they will reserve if they plan in eating and there is a bar area for barracks and drinks. the menu for eating is great and I had baked white baby as starter and I was really impressed, lightly coated and very crispy fresh fish. the menu has many options for meat and vegetarian dishes and they will be well served by the helpful staff. for the pornstars I had a bubble and it was great with a side of sweet. cesar salat was good and overall I would highly recommend the situation. great drinks too. beautiful event with large garden in summer"
