"It's not a bad hotel, but it could use vast improvements. I stayed one night. Long review ahead... Staff Service: Accommodating and lovely. They deserve five stars, but the hotel itself does not. Location: Right along the water. Great views (from the restaurant). Food: The breakfast was overcooked. Not good when I needed a steak knife to cut my eggs and hash-brown. Hotel: A very trusting hotel. No outside doors are locked overnight, so anyone could wander in. I assume there are no homeless drunks in Portree because where I'm from, there would homeless sleeping in the hallways. Room: Stayed in the Partial View room, and is overpriced. Unless you enjoy the view of parked cars, noise, an outdated bathroom and missing furniture. WARNING: Room is next to both restaurant and outside doors. If you enjoy doors slamming all night and people talking outside your room, then book it. Hotel was fully booked, so I had no choice. The furniture is mismatched. Combination of Ikea and cheap antique furniture. Bed was tough. No fridge, desk or table, and so cannot eat drink tea. Must book their restaurant (if you can) or use drying rack as a table. Don't expect milk. Bathroom should be gutted: bathroom door doesn't lock (even though there is one), shower-head is broken and sprays everywhere, ceiling paint is chipping, shower handle peeling off, and hot water takes a few (4-5) mins to run."
