"A bit of a mixed bag to be honest, there was a large party in for a 30th and subsequently our food took a very, very long time to come out as it seems the kitchen and waiting staff struggled with the volume. The staff are excellent and did apologise for the delay in getting us our food, which was nice but didn't make it any shorter wait. The room where we ate had a high roof and as a result the noise was quite loud but I'm not sure if this wasn't just the group next to us shouting over each other, nothing to be done about that. On the whole the food was very nice but the fish from the bar menu was pretty disappointing to be honest (two of us had it and said the same...batter heavy and soggy) although the rest of the food was varied and well cooked. The cheese board is outstanding and the puddings were tremendous. They also tried to charge me £53 for two small bottles of Prosseco thinking we'd had two big bottles, so check your bill, although not an issue to get it rectified. To sum up, great staff, good food (mostly) nice pub but maybe a little understaffed for lots of people needing feeding all at once."
