"Probably the most satisfying meal I've ever eaten anywhere, and I enjoy eating out. The quality was top-notch, as was the service! I'm probably classed as a slightly picky eater now, only a few things I can't stand, and willing to try things I swore I would never eat previously (hence the snail and the rabbit). A very nice main, nothing to compare it to, but it didn't feel or taste overdone and the potatoes, mushrooms and mustard sauce were a very nice accompaniment. Especially the potatoes. The duck was a bit tough on the outside, but the inside looked good (I only tried a bit of the outside as it wasn't mine) and the chips were nice. I didn't get the waiter's name so I'll ask, if he's there, when I go back. The menu made everything sound good, which is rare. I don't eat meat when out unless the welfare standards and quality are assured, which they are here, so I have free reign! I want to try everything at least once, but the baked Alaska made me gush to everyone I speak to about it and want to drag them right there specifically for it, although I also want all of the other food... Choices, choices."

"If a restaurant advertises a very restricted menu for a fixed price for a special occasion -they shouldn't change the menu for the worse without telling people that have booked in advance so that they can withdraw . No pheasant (replaced with blander guinea fowl)...no rum baba and no green beans with the steak. The potato with my meal was not cooked and was inedible (they gave me a free coffee in compensation). I really like their Sunday lunch but this matches my experience of their Thanksgiving dinner when the advertised pumpkin pie turned out to be a sort of Danish pastry with a blob of jam on it."

"Me and my family booked this restaurant a whil e back for new year as we thought it would get busy but was told when we got there was no booking under our name despite I called a few days before to confirm which they said we was booked in. The lady who I spoke to basically said I was a liar and asked for a screen shot if my reservation which I think was pretty poor. unfortunately we did have to eat there because there was no other restaurant’s available at the time we wanted. I felt that we was rushed and there was a set menu which we wasn’t aware of either. The food wasn’t bad but not worth the money that we paid. I did complain and Another lady which I think was the manager was very polite and very apologetic."

"Excellent food but the evening was spoiled because instead of bringing the Carafe of White Vermentino that we ordered a very expensive £60 bottle was brought to us. The waiter insisted that this was what we had ordered even though the wine was not even white but orange. This bottle was eventually replaced by another £40 bottle of white Vermentino which we accepted. When the bill arrived we had been charged for both bottles with a discount on the first that we had sent back. After much wrangling and telephone conversation between the waiter and the manager we declined to pay for any part of the orange wine or the service charge I spoke with the manager the next day who didn't accept any responsibility for what had happened basically saying that the waiter's version of events differed and that she wasn't there so could not comment. She eventually conceded that the waiter's one fault was that he could be slightly inattentive and she admitted that the orange Vermentino should not have been listed under white wine. She also admitted that she had not authorised the charge made on the returned bottle. After asking me to repeat my version of events four times and saying she couldn't understand it she finally said that she was sorry we hadn't enjoyed the evening. We won't be returning and I would recommend anyone going there to check both the wine brought to them and their bill carefully"

"on the other day, we ate here for the 5th pound. very surprised by the quality as not much expect for £5. I had the hunch and pfeffer salat and my partner had a usual turn on cottage pie, it was a chilli cottage pie with sweet potato mash with cheese covered. it was a good value for money and eating was very good. very tasty . as a bonus there were 20% outside our drinks, happy hour, could easily be happy all day, but we had to get back to work. we both commented on how good the real was, tribute and bath according well made racks and we will return soon."

"Whenever we drove past, we would always say, "it should be great in it." So for the birthday of my partner I arranged for us lunch in the restaurant. when we arrived, the restaurant was quiet as it was still early in the day. it was a little atmosphere, but we sat alone in the winter garden. we thought other parties would join us and make it more alive, but instead the personal filled out the restaurant that left us to it. we thought that there was something we had said! in the conservatory there was a problem with the music speakers, as they always get in and out and then were really loud. we told the waitress who was most apologetic, but who was responsible for the music didn't seem to do anything about it. it was quite annoying. they were hired when a party arrived with a baby as we wanted. it was also a shame that they had no oysters and that the waiting staff didn't know. not her fault, but the one in front of the house and the kitchen to communicate better. on the open table booking I have specified that it was a birthday and as I saw pictures of desserts with ‘Happy Birthday’ on the board that I asked on my partner. that didn't happen. a scandalous and art of the last impression of the place. that was not for the dessert of my partner. the mango parfait. frozen solid. the waitress took another and removed him from the bill. a nice gesture."

"we were at the varsity hotel, so we thought we were supposed to dive in one night. views were amazingly good eating, although portions were too big! the part was the slow service that we have waited for 45 minutes for our starter and how they can see the cook at work, it was easy to notice other later orders before us. the manager valter accepted our feedback and apologized. this was an informal and canteen style when I expected. the attempt to book here, instead of the ground floor steak restaurant, was the prospect. but I felt too informative for a hotel of this quality."

"We were staying up the road for a week and decided to come here early on a Sunday night. We booked for a party of 6 no problem on OpenTable but for whatever reason the restaurant didn’t show our reservation when we got there. Nevertheless they seated us fairly quickly, but unfortunately next to a birthday party of people who had a few too many and were very loud, and constantly leaving the back door open (and the smoke in). The vibe in the place is cool, big round bar in the middle and lots of nooks with tables and a big outdoors. The service took a bit to get to us and appeared to be a bit overwhelmed trying to manage a full house and patio. They were very polite and able to answer any questions we had though. Seems like they have daily/nightly specials, and our group all enjoyed the food and drink. Had we not had the experience with the party next to us I’d likely rate them a tick or two higher as a very good local pub."

"The service was friendly but quite slow and disorganized, with several servers asking us the same questions and then vanishing for long stretches of time. They were out of the first two types of gin listed on the menu when we ordered. The food was just average considering the prices, and we found a £28 main course on the bill that we hadn’t ordered. "impresses with their eating, great quality of food, many vegetarian decisions. the staff was very friendly and accommodating. the menu is good for vegetarian. id recommend her salate, which was very well prepared. also their soulva pits are very full. the Sharing tablets are also very good, not huge portions, but a good teaser for taste buds. the hotel is located in a light walking distance from aldgate or liverpool station. they have both external and internal seats. I would be happy to visit her again."

"We’ve eaten there now in past 2 weeks. Lovely food and staff. Only concern both times was the awful draft that the restaurant experiences because of layout and the large entrance door. "After reading real good reviews, I had been waiting to check this place out for quite sometime now and finally today I did! I mean c 'mon now, the only grilled cheese sandwich shop in London! Who wouldn 't wanna go? Food: grilled cheese it is. A tiny cute place with a very appealing menu. We ordered Mac 'n 'cheese, BBQ Chicken and Portobello Mushroom. For the price of around £5 each it wasn 't bad at all! Though we were expecting something more fancy but it 's cheap and it 's cheese AND we were completely stuffed with just one. My friend who got the one with chicken didn 't find it that great to be honest. Maybe because of all the raised expectations and imagination. Service: the staff was really polite and nice. Full points to them! Ambience: the bright yellow and white tiny shop definitely gives a very nice vibe. Definitely worth a try!"

"After reading reviews on here my son and I decided to visit on our way home. Really lovely old pub. It was a very, very hot day but the inside of the pub remained cool. The staff were amazing incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was great we opted for the Sunday 3 course menu. Starter Prawn Cocktail stunning. Really different presentation and lots of it. Son had breaded mushrooms again very fresh and tasty. We both had roast good sized portions and fresh not frozen veg. Cauliflower cheese very tasty. Desserts we had were chocolate fudge cake and waffles. The waffles were listed as with caramel sauce but had the extra addition of strawberries which made them lovely. Ice cream and cream Again great presentation."

"Great night out. a few weeks ago in the queensbury for a light bite, but when I saw the sorts in the menu, I ended up with a course meal!/ so much choice for the starter, but at the end I chose the stylton souffle with black pfeffer haferkuchen. it was soouuo beautiful. / my main meal was wild mushroom, parmesan and black truffle risotto. risotto is hit and miss, but that was perfectly cooked.Dessert was frech, but soouu beautiful. I had a dark chocolate and ginger tea. / personal and loks are beautiful and they had harveys bristol cream. I will go back in the opposite way when I am back in the opposite way./ many thanks!"

"We kindly asked the staff to close the entrance door because of the freezing temperature and the lady behind the counter refused with the explanation that the Manager ordered the door to be kept opened. Then a male member of staff reminded her that they should close the door in case a customer requests. To our dismay, after few minutes, the Manager arrived and opened the door again. We, kindly, asked if the door could be kept closed because of the very low temperature and the Manager (wearing a jacket while serving, unshaved and looking like a homeless person) arrogantly refused arguing that he needed the door opened to attract customers. Well, you just lost many. The Manager stubbornly refused our pleas and we had nothing else to do but to leave immediately in disgust without finishing our meal. We issued a memo in our company to prevent anyone else to have the same awful experience we had at Blanche. Izabella Silverman"
