"I had dinner for combined celebration of, a birthday, a graduation and a promotion for three members of my family. We also have a family holiday to Tokyo booked for December, so we all agreed to have a preview taste of Japanese food. We decided on the Experience menu plus wine which cost £150 per head, so that we could sample a wider variety of food and the wine which go with it. Generally the food was quite delicious. We enjoyed the seafood and the wagyu beef. The desert and accompanying wine was excellent. My only critical observation is that the portions are very small for the very high price of the menu when compared to other fine dine places we have been to in Central London. It will be more cost effective to order individual food items......which is what we will do in Tokyo. The staff are very very welcoming, which made for a nice day out for my family."

"After eagerly anticipating the opening of Ohisama, having known Indika from his time at Atari-ya, I can confidently say that the wait was well worth it! Everything at Ohisama is top-notch, from the service to the delectable dishes and the meticulous care that is put into the preparation, quality, and presentation of the Indian cuisine. The location is also ideal, situated on the bustling road near Chiltern Firehouse, between Baker Street and Marylebone High Street."

"On Open Table we picked a waterfront view restaurant for 7:30pm. When we arrived, the restaurant name was not clearly marked and we found out it was a Hooka Lounge, not the restaurant it was made out to be in Open Table. They directed us to the inside restaurant where the owner or manager greeted us rudely and told us we should know what restaurant we were booking and that he had a full house coming in at 8:00 pm (1/2 the restaurant was empty or tables were getting up). We were very upset as it was late and we were now far from all other places to eat so we sat by the bar. He finally conceeded to sit us at a regular table. We ordered drinks and the waitress came back to tell us they couldn 't make those drinks. We ordered a 2nd set of drinks and the same thing happened. I then just ordered a glass of wine. Restaurant was so dark, we could barely read the menu. Food was good but they wanted to bring out apps and food all at once after we told them we wanted oysters first with drinks. I would not recommend nor go back"

"I was searching for a restaurant for a pre-theatre meal and a special place to celebrate my husband's birthday. The ambience and authenticity were fantastic, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, we opted for the set menu priced at £35 per person. The quality of the food was outstanding, but we wished there were more dishes and larger portions per person. For example, we ordered the teriyaki salmon and there was only one piece that we had to share. I felt that since we were paying per person, the portions should have been more equal. However, the dessert was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and visit again, but I would be more cautious with my food choices. It is a perfect location for a pre-theatre meal near the Royal Albert Hall."

"There are many good Japanese restaurants in London (Chisou, Sakagura, Roka, Murakami, Sosharu, etc) I don't consider Kiri one of them. Kiri's menu items are priced similar to other restaurants but the standard is much lower. The quality of sushi at Kiri was poorer (sinewy and chewy), service was poor even though the restaurant wasn't busy on our visit. Our fairly light, quick meal for two (with a cocktail each and a glass of sochu each) came to £140.00. This seemed very over priced for the food and poor dining experience we had. I wouldn't recommend Kiri and I won't be returning."

"I was sceptical before arriving but I have to say the food was excellent and I really enjoyed the shows. Is it good value? Probably not, but as a one off or a treat I would definitely recommend. The shows are every half an hour or so and last a couple of minutes, but we're very well put together. The food was generally of a very high standard and they catered to my friend with allergies superbly. I'm sure you could find a restaurant with as good food for a cheaper price, however once you factor in the entertainment it is a restaurant worth visiting!"

"Visited here in November 2021. We were running late stuck in traffic due to fireworks in town) and rang to say we would be late and they were super understanding, even when we got there 20 mins later on a Saturday! Loved the service, ambiance, and most importantly the food was delicious. Steaks cooked perfectly and not overdone, great sides and great cocktails too, loved it and will be back!"

"the place where the catering business is done properly. others should learn from them. spacious interieur, good coffee and amazing atmosphere in the morning. we came back to dessert in the evening. we had the cutting plate. dessert was delicious, nice served. "the cocktail (benito, I think it was called) was fabulous! eating was very nice, I liked the ginger squid. I have rated it in the average, it takes into account the views of my hospitable who don't think much about the pad thai or the banans dessert. "As a fairly regular Ukai customer I was very disappointed with my most recent visit. The service was stellar as usual but the food was terrible the worst I’ve ever had there. We ordered 2 lamb chops, one medium rare and one well done both of which came out looking pretty similarly cooked on a bed of dry wilted salad leaves which can’t have been wilted by the heat of the lamb chops because they were very cold. The sticky rice was warm and bland. The staff were very helpful and apologetic but after microwaving the lamb chops and bringing them back out they were just very dry and unimpressive. Although we were given a small discount at the end as this was birthday meal following me singing Ukai’s praises as one of my favourite bar/restaurants I was and still am very disappointed with my experience. We left feeling hungry after eating a meal and a starter. In addition to this we ordered a juice and one cocktail, which came to £95 with the discount seems pretty steep considering how little we actually ordered."
