"We have visited this pub several times, along with another of the same chain where we used to live and it has always been lovely. We came for a Sunday dinner last week and unfortunately it felt like something has changed.We arrived at the entrance and were told our table was just outside literally about steps behind where we had come in. Yet we were made to walk through the entire pub following the one way system, and so traipsing our covid if we had it through the place instead of simply turning around and sitting down at the table. Absolute madness. I know we are all trying to keep safe but this defies all common sense and has no scientific basis whatsoever. We had the roast beef and pork. It wasn't as nice as usual and didn't seem fresh, as if it had been sat under the pass for some time and our cauliflower cheese was gloopy. Not sure if there is a new chef? Something definitely seems to have changed.I was planning to mention this to the waitress when she came for our bill, but we were not asked if everything was okay, so I didn't get the opportunity. Bearing in mind our previous visits have been great, perhaps this was just a blip. Will perhaps return for another chance when covid regulations are lifted."
