Soft and flaky flatbread, perfect for dipping into curries or enjoying with a side of vegetables and sauces.

"We went out for a friend's 40th birthday dinner, and while the food was enjoyable, the service left much to be desired. We had confirmed beforehand that we could bring a cake, but although they allowed it, they refused to serve it for us. When we asked for a knife to cut the cake, the woman at the bar was incredibly rude. She claimed she didn't have a knife and would not even attempt to find one when I asked. However, when her colleague came over, he quickly found a knife right behind the bar, in the very spot where she had been standing. She seemed uninterested that she had been caught in her unhelpfulness and simply looked away. I brought this issue to the attention of the manager at the end of the evening, and he promised to address it with her, so hopefully, it’s just a case of one staff member being unprofessional."

"Shocking service. Was seated behind a wall out of view in a half empty restaurant…? Was seated 25 minutes without so much as a drinks order. I had to get up to walk over to the host point 3 times to ask to be moved and a drinks order to be taken. Only to be left seated at the same table with nobody coming over. All 3 times 2/3 staff members standing on their phones. Food runner came over twice to tuck the same chairs in at the empty table next to us (the only two behind the wall) and told me he couldn’t take a drinks order. Manager came over and just shrugged and raised her eyebrows. No empathy, no apology. Said she’d be back over with an iPad to take a drinks order. Not sure how you can’t remember 4 singular drinks? Only to send another waitress 2 minutes later. Left to go find better service and attention."

"Back in my 'day ' (the late 80 's, 90 's and early 2k), Blackwood Rd had the usual town/village shops. Walks to school including a stop at Taylors News for sweets, chippy tea, hair cut, pharmaceutical support... Roll on 30 years later, and something that could have come a lot lot sooner (when I was walking the streets, on my way home after a night out at the local public houses when turning '18 ' in the late 90 's) there is a restaurant. An indian restaurant. Visiting parents, as now live in Lincolnshire, and they took me here... Service; fantastic, very personal, great conversation. Location; 'hidden ' away, and parking could be an issue if early doors. Drinks; unlicensed, so BYOB. Wine for me. Food; when 'testing ' an Indian restaurant I will always go with the chefs/restaurants 'own ' Jalfrazi. If its good, I know the rest of the menu will be good. Lots of experience here . No complaints from parents, nor myself. Price; absolutely spot on for portion size. Lamb Tikka Sylheti Jalfrazi. Not over powered with chilli, just a nice warmth on the back of the tongue, perfection. As well as the starters, all was beautiful. Highly recommended, and parents say take out/delivery is spot on too. Those that know me, you know I like my curry. If i say its good, its very good. "Following a long journey to Stoke by Nayland, we found this quaint pub in the village and decided to go for lunch here. This country pub features everything you could want with a log fire near the entrance, a nice bar with plenty of variety and it has its own wine “cellar” type room! My partner and I decided to grab a bite to eat, ordering the flat ironed steak, accompanied with steak cut chips, garlic mushrooms and a garlic sauce, and I ordered the steak and mushroom pie, accompanied with freshly steamed veg and a dollop of mash. Both plates arrived promptly and the food on both plates was superb, tasted fresh and locally sourced. The added bonus was the chef singing I’m a believer in the background, not the best version I’ve heard but none the less a valiant attempt and great to hear the staff in good spirits during the current situation. Overall my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and the atmosphere in the pub, we’d definitely recommend and we may pop in before we leave!"

"The Ambiance: Totally cute like you’re stepping onto the set of Wes Anderson’s The Darjeeling Limited. The Staff: Welcoming and friendly without being overly ‘present’ (eek those places where like five servers are staring at you from the wings…it doesn’t happen here! . The Food: Very tasty! They serve all the usual suspects (curry, jalfrezi, biriyani, et all along with specialties from various regions. My only mild critique is the small size of the naan; for £2.95 it should have been a bit bigger. However, it was super tasty! Would I eat here again? oh yeah! Very delightful food!"

"I recently returned to Aroma Spice, a restaurant that has been a favorite of mine since it opened in 1999. Known for its delicious Indian cuisine, Aroma Spice has always been the top choice in Hampstead, and possibly even in all of North London. After being closed for three months, I was worried that the restaurant may have suffered financially and gone downhill. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Aroma Spice had been reopened last week with a fresh new look. The restaurant has been revamped with a modern and stylish design, featuring a beautiful long bar made of wood and granite. Despite the new renovations, the atmosphere remains relaxed and inviting. I'm happy to report that Aroma Spice is still the same excellent restaurant I remember."

"I'll start with the positives Large portions Friendly staff . . . That's about it really. Food tastes average, not authentic despite their claims. The wait is too long even if it served with a smile. Menu itself is not extensive. Not so comfortable seating, almost feels like they want you to eat and get out. Not spend quality time with your mates. Price doesn't justify the taste, even though the quantity does. Some names are a bit misleading. Not planning on going back."

"York is justifiable famous for it 's great pubs ,so many that you need a week to visit them all which is exactly what my twin brother Stephen and did in February before we started an eight days holiday in Prague. This is a special pub ,established in 1756 ,interior is superb ,nice rooms, great decor and furnishings, period details and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their amazing looking igloo 's and all housed in a fantastic Georgian era building. We were here on a Wednesday early afternoon ,we had just done a complete walk of the famous Roman Walks ,we were definitely in need of a beer and dropped into The Lamb Lion Pub,a pub we always look forward to visiting . The pub was busy,it was in fact standing room only ,we got served no problem and we both opted to have Timothy Taylor 's Brewery landlord ,served in pristine condition ,we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was really good,a golden ale, crisp, well balanced ,hoppy and bursting with taste, just what we needed after our lovely walk around the walls ,it was just so good being in such a great pub enjoying a great real ale. We both really enjoyed our pale ale 's in here before we moved on and as on every previous visit to here we had a great time. The Lamb Lion Pub is easy to locate along High Petergate. A great pub,if you 're in the area most definitely well worth checking out."

"we had the set thali, which was very well cooked and presented. extra brot offered part away through the meal that was good. my only critique was the charge for the Chutney tablet, very small portions and not much variety for the two of us, I have nothing against paying for poppadums, but please close the chutney especially, as the portions were minuscule!"

"If you wanna go to a restaurant and have the most wonderful experience in your life, you need to go to Chequers of Orwell. The food is above Michelin star quality, surprises me it has no Michelin star yet. The chef David makes magic. I have always enjoyed this place and I go whenever I can. I recommend everybody visiting at least once because writing down is not even near the tasty experience. Ah and did I mention the dessert? The chocolate fondant is something unimaginable... the best dessert I ever had by far. The staff are always prompt to help and are courteous too. The only complaint is the lack of Chequers worldwide! I wish I could eat there everyday of my life."

"I have ordered takeout from this restaurant a few times due to COVID restrictions, and I must say, it's the best Indian food I've had in a long time. The food is made with fresh spices like coriander and has just the right amount of spice for me - not too overwhelming, but still leaves you feeling hot after eating. The staff is also very friendly. I particularly enjoyed the Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes in curry sauce) and one of the Dhaal dishes."

"the ambiente and the actual device of the place is stunning. the service was unfortunately less than what we expected, as some of the foods did not arrive with the others, so we had to demand it again. I also believe that the articles are generally overpriced for the size and quality of the portions. total good, but not great"

"Had the most delicious meal on Saturday night. We arrived to a warm welcome by the barman which makes all the difference, then seated into the restaurant by him. Our order was taken politely by the waitress and our food was served shortly after. We started with the pea arancini and the cauliflower and cheese veloute. We both had the pan seared salmon for main which was absolutely delicious, with a crispy skin to die for! Finishing with the rhubarb creme brulee and ice cream. It was such a treat to have fresh food served on hot plates. We can highly recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you."

"My group of four had a fantastic lunch at Mint and Mustard while exploring the village. We took the water taxi from Cardiff castle, visited the beautiful St. Augustine church on the hill, and then made our way to Pernath. The display menu at Mint and Mustard offered more than just traditional Indian dishes, so we decided to give it a try. Since it was the off season, we received great service from the host right away. The curries, Buddha bowls, masala, tea, cocktails, and okra fries were all amazing! I wish I could bottle up every sauce and take it home. The food was out of this world! Overall, we rate the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect 5 out of 5."

"Wonderful, helpful staff excellent service from booking until we left after celebrating a 40th birthday. Luke was so helpful when I rang to book easy to talk to. On arrival today all the staff were kind, caring, considerate and were incredibly helpful. The carvery was tasty with an excellent choice of vegetables fab Yorkshire puddings. The 4 children in our group aged 2-10, all enjoyed their carvery and the ice- cream dessert that came with a chocolate flake marshmallows. Thank you to all the staff at ‘front of house’ ‘behind the scenes’ for making today a very special 40th family celebration! We will definitely be returning, not just as a family, but as a couple because we were so impressed with the overall service quality of food."

"Unwelcoming. Very slow service, had to ask a person who worked in the back who was not a waiter to serve us and he was very nice, if he hadn't done so we would have left. They should employ him as front man! Wrong dish was served. Service was unfriendly, like we were not wanted there. As they served the wrong dish I had to eat my food after the person accompanying me had finished his. Is a large restaurant which is a little chilly, absolutely no effort by the waiters and no ambience, there was some background music but could hardly hear it. Shame because the food is very good and has been since they opened. No good for couples."

"Where do I start! My husband and I were looking forward to afternoon tea at the Orangery restaurant, after perusing the menu online beforehand it sounded quite nice. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table, the place was almost empty, with only one more couple there. We were asked if we’d like tea or coffee, this came out after 5 minutes. The wobbly cake stand with the very sparse amount of sandwiches and selection of cakes came out much later and our teapot was nice and empty by this time! We weren’t offered a refill and tried in vain to get the attention of the waitress who was extremely busy chatting to the other couple about house prices for about 10 minutes. She noticed my husband waving his arms in desperation to get her attention and completely ignored him 4 times! Eventually she managed to fetch us another pot then took the rest of our milk away whilst she refilled it in the kitchen. I thought we were going to die of thirst! The sandwiches we received were not the ones advertised online. We were given plain ham, cheese and pickle, egg mayonnaise and salmon. Where were the watercress, horseradish, cress etc and the coronation chicken? 4 small fingers of basic sandwiches each…. Not enough and I could have made these at home! The scones weren’t warmed and the cakes bore no resemblance to the menu whatsoever! Where were the mango tarts, Victoria sandwiches, pistachio macarons? We received, very dry coffee and lemon cake, chocolate cake and chocolate macaron. Not very inspiring at all for the hefty £21.95 per head price tag! We couldn’t eat a lot of it as it was that rubbish! We did think we might get chance to take the rest home for the kids, but after waiting another 15 minutes to get any attention we gave up and left. As we stepped out of the door the waitress shouted across the room to us to see if we wanted to take the rest home. We said we would have if she had bothered to ask us 15 minutes earlier. Overall a dreadful experience, zero customer service, very inattentive staff, please don’t waste your hard earned cash on this place. Whilst we were there we looked at reviews on trip advisor and see that many people have complained. Short replies have been added by the Orangery saying that they have taken note of the comments, yet absolutely nothing has been done about any of it! We won’t be returning!"
