"I enjoy this restaurant, but I was disappointed to see the kitchen staff assembling the cheese plate without wearing gloves. It makes me hesitant to eat the $18 plate I just purchased."

"This should really be a 5 star review but due to staff not adhering to covid rules it has to be a 3. The quality of food saved it from being a 1. Staff started off with the masks on but shortly after opening they either had the masks on with their nose exposed, hanging from their chins leaving the mouth exposed as well or just hanging around their necks. I did remind them about this and one look shocked and another pulled it up then as he walked away pulled it straight back down. Now onto what this review should be about is the food which definitely did not disappoint. We had the £11.95 offer which is on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. This consists of any starter, any main, any side dish and either rice or naan bread. The food came out hot and tasted really nice. We left with most of our mains and rice as we were full after poppadoms and starters. The portion sizes were bug to say the least. Excellent value for money. The food was finished off with a complimentary drink. As said the face masks aside this would easily be 5 stars"

"The building itself is very interesting, consisting of an old Greek church and an adjoining building. It's well appointed, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It was comfortably warm when we were there. There is a bar and a bistro in the basement of the hotel which looked good (didn't try, see below). Location is good, not in the centre of things but only a small walk away; we only walked for the few days we were there. Room was well maintained and had some great tea and coffee options. Only minor gripes on the downside, opportunities for improvement. The bar only had lagers and an IPA. No darker beers, not even cans of Guinness or similar. Seemed an odd omission. The duvet on the bed was too much for the temperature in the room. I eventually pulled the duvet out to just use the cover as a sheet which was more than enough. There was no separate light for the cupboard including the hot drinks and the safe. This meant you need to put all the ceiling lights on to see, which wasn't great for anyone sleeping at the time. Should be easy to fit something more specific. We also had a room next to the linen cupboard, so we were woken up each morning by the housekeepers opening doors, chatting, banging trollies. Not so bad because we needed to get up, but if you didn't it might annoy. But it's only one room."

"After a few years, I am pleased to say that the food quality at this restaurant is still quite good. I give it a full mark for consistency. The menu offers a simple mix of traditional favorites and specialty dishes. We tried the fried fish tendon and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable, given the current circumstances. Overall, we left satisfied and felt that our money was well spent. I would definitely recommend this place to those looking for a change from the usual Punjabi or Dosa dishes. Keep in mind that the seating is limited, so it might be a good idea to call ahead on busy days."

"Have just returned home to Westbourne having had a meal in this delightful restaurant which is Malaysian Street Food. Our son recommended it and took us tonight. It was pure delight. The menu is vast and there is definitely something for everyone and everyone's taste. My son recommended for me the Chicken soup as it is not spicy. Well it was absolutely delicious. Basically a huge bowl with pieces of soft chicken, noodles, bean sprouts, a beef pattie and vegetables in a lovely broth. It was so tasty and filling. I had started with a deep fried roti with a spicy sauce but I myself found the sauce way too hot for my palate but the roti was different. The staff were friendly and very attentive and I will definitely be going again."

"Had an argument with the delivery driver over the phone about where my house was. Arrived eventually, 20 minutes late. Ordered chips, for £2.95 I literally got a handful. Called restaurant to query this and they didn't care, could not be less interested. APPALLING SERVICE. FIRST AND LAST TIME ORDERING FROM HERE."

"My friend and I ate the korma, coconut rice, cheesy naan and a lamb biryani. It was all delicious and the portions were a good size. The menu had lots of choice, the restaurant had a lovely calm and peaceful family atmosphere even for a Saturday. The waitress was quite shy but the man (I assume manager) was v kind and welcoming. We will definitely come again and may even order takeaway some time. Thanks"

"We had an excellent dining experience at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the staff, we knew it would be a memorable evening. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, attentive, and detail-oriented. The food not only looked amazing but tasted phenomenal as well. The presentation was unique and well-executed. Overall, our experience was nothing short of a "Premier Indian Dining" experience."

"Avoid this restaurant. Visited with family. Extremely rude waiter....especially one waiter who met us first. The second one who served us at the end somehow managed well and was good in behaviour. Food is at expensive side looking into the quantity. Someone should teach them how to smile and greet customers. Looks like they are running business only with first timer visitors who don't see Zomato reviews. Also not bothered for anyone....hope they change this attitude."

"I used to live in London and enjoyed this place many years ago, but because I now live in Cambridgeshire, I hadn't been for years. After a long walk from Finchley via Hampstead Heath, we were feeling hungry, so my partner suggested we go there. Having been greeted at the door by an immaculately dressed and friendly mâitre d', I knew immediately we were going to be in for a delightful evening, and so it proved. The food was impeccable and the service certainly the best I've experienced, in any restaurant, for quite some time (and we dine frequently at some well-known places in central London). Tandoori chicken, sizzling vegetables, Saag aloo, and perfect Naan were all supremely delicious. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol, so the salt Lassi was a super and refreshing alternative. My partner ate a delightful looking Subjee Begun pie as her main course, and we shared the vegetables. Great food and lovely restaurant all round. I cannot wait to come back."

"Booked online but booking wasn’t recognised when we arrived. Luckily there was an appropriate sized table and no problem. Ordered popadoms and chutney. Some seriously spicy chutneys... almost blew my head off. Then starters which were hot( temperatures) and tasty. Everyone happy. The main meals were huge.. so we really shouldn’t have had starters. Good courteous service and noticed that although downstairs was filling up, new arrivals were politely redirected to upstairs area. Overall a good experience .. would definitely go back and avoid the starters."

"excellent eating and friendly staff. we were often there and love it absolutely! the lunch menu is much too cheap, so we always leave a big tipp. I don't know how they survive, but I would put the price up if I were the boss! for those who weren't there, I guarantee them, they won't be disappointed."

"Wonderful meal at The Tigers Pad. This is a favourite local restaurant of mine and my family and I suggested it as a venue for a Christmas get-together to a group of friends some of whom hadn't eaten here before. Excellent authentic Indian food, wonderful service and a real buzz about the place. This is a family run restaurant and they look after their guests beautifully. My friends all loved it and vowed to return. Thank you for a great evening."

"This little gem is located on a quiet street just a stone's throw from The Meadows, a short walk from the main accommodation and teaching facilities of the University of Edinburgh, and only a 15-20 minute walk from the castle and the Royal Mile, and it's worth the wander. While its appearance from the outside is unassuming, the welcome inside is far from that, and the food is wonderful. We enjoyed a selection of delicious starters and Thai soups, followed by tasty curries, noodles, and rice, all in generous portions and served with the widest of smiles. The prices are very good, ideal for a family meal or visiting a family member studying at the university (like us). In terms of cost, the restaurant has the additional advantage of allowing you to bring your own alcohol: Gary, the owner (who runs the operation along with his partner and his excellent and friendly team) no longer sells alcohol on the premises, preferring to encourage customers to drink their own beverage (with no corkage fees), which, if needed, can be purchased at a store directly across the street from the restaurant. So, for a wonderful meal at a modest cost, Thai Laos has a plethora of options. We loved it, and will definitely be back."

"A warm welcome in the pub on arrival, with clear communication and assistance. Breakfast was good too, with a good selection and made to order. We were also welcome to loiter despite the pub being officially closed. The room was well stocked with a good variety of included items to drink. Everything worked as it should and was clean, with all the useful extra touches, like a shower cap (biodegradable too) and tissues. Negatives: a little mould around the plug in the bathroom. No lift up the 3 flights of stairs but this was communicated prior to booking. The wind rattled the windows and doors. No spare pillows or blankets. The location was excellent for seeing a show in the West End and the overall experience was great so would consider rebooking if/when needed."

"As always we found the food at this restaurant to be both excellent and extremely good value. We started with a Chicken Chat and Prawn Puri, both generous portions in well flavoured sauces. Mains included a deliciously tangy Hari-Ali chicken (a new one for me but one I'm sure I'll have again); mild, but not over-sweet Lamb Passanda and sides of Motar Panir and Garlic Naan. This may not sound like a large meal but between two of us we only just about managed to finish it. All the dishes were rich, but distinctively spiced and flavoured."
