"Update 31/1/18: I've now been to the actual restaurant which is a nice modern space. Food was great as always, service a touch weird as the server was just very quiet. We have had takeaway from the Yak and Yeti several times (they deliver further if you phone the restaurant than if you try and order on Hungryhouse). They have a whole vegan section of the menu with over 20 dishes and so far we've tried about 10 and haven't been disappointed with any. All the dishes are very reasonably priced at around £6.95 for a curry dish and the vegan special fried rice and mushroom rices are excellent. With a vegan section to make it so easy, we don't bother trying to get curry anywhere else! Only thing to note is that when we order they often send a couple of free poppadoms and I think the generic green dip they send with it is (non-vegan) yogurty. "The majority of the food at the restaurant was delicious, however, the popadoms were extremely oily. The waiter explained that they had just been fried, but we found this explanation unacceptable as we have dined at many Indian restaurants and never experienced such greasy popadoms before. The waiter did offer us a complimentary masala popadom, but it was no better. We were also disappointed to learn that the restaurant's alcohol license had expired when we tried to order drinks, which should have been mentioned when we made our reservation. Additionally, we ordered all of our starters and main courses at once, expecting to receive the starters first as we had specified to the waitress. Unfortunately, our dosa's arrived well before the rest of our food, leaving us waiting. When we mentioned this to the waitress, she explained that the kitchen was very busy and suggested we should have informed her when ordering, which we had already done. The loud volume of the television playing Coco Melon and the music made it difficult for the waitress to hear our concerns. To add to the disappointment, a large party with noisy children made it challenging for us to have a conversation without speaking loudly. Overall, our dining experience was not enjoyable and fell short of our expectations, despite the decent quality of the food (excluding the popadoms)."

"Tonight my husband and I came to the restaurant for a meal. It’s our 10th Wedding Anniversary and my husband had booked a table with yourselves as over the years we have had lovely meals at the restaurantUnfortunately tonight wasn’t such an experience. I don’t usually write emails but out of pure annoyance and frustration I find myself writing this one. The whole experience from us arriving to us leaving was one of great disappointment. There was a larger group of diners on the mezzanine floor, we were told by our waitress once seated she would be back in 2 or 3 minutes to take out drinks order, this was way more as she then helped serve mains to the group booking. Our menus were different when we opened them, my husbands had no starters page, we had to ask for a correct menu, once Katie came back she then took our meal choices and drinks order. My husband ordered a Budweiser to which we were told she wasn’t sure if they sold Bud and she would find out. I ordered a Mojito. We were informed there was no Bacardi so I couldn’t have my drink, I chose a processco, the drinks took about 10 minutes to arrive, however when they did, there was a mojito as turns out you did have barcardiOur antipasta was served and before we’d finished and it could clearly be seen we weren’t, we were asked if we had finished. I replied no and waitress went off, we’d hardly finished our mouthfuls and again she was over asking if we’d finished. Plates were cleared and our mains turned up shortly after. Mains were sea bass and pulledPork with a side order of sautéed veg. We were disappointed by the meals but neither of us said to each other at the time as we were trying to make the most of the evening even though we were already disappointed by being left and then rushed to eat our antipasta. Our meals had clearly sat under heat lamps/ or a hot plate as we hadn’t finished quick enough with the antipasta as the skin on the sea bass had burn marks from Heat lamps, the mash was stodgy and the peas were burnt. My husband later told me the pork ball was all soggy as had been sat on the jus that was on the plate. Both meals were bland and lacked seasoning and certainly wasn’t up the standard we expected. When this was cleared away, we were asked if we wanted desserts, when we replied no, we were told ok I’ll bring the bill!!! When the bill came and the card machine was brought over, we were run asked if we wanted to tip!!!!! Surely that is not something you should be asking in such an abrupt manner???????????from arriving to leaving was roughly a hour, at no point was this a relaxing celebration meal, it was rushed, we were made to feel an inconvenience and had ruined our evening. my husband and I had both kept quiet at our disappointment as not to ruin the evening for each other, however I was upset when got outside and I nearly came back in to talk to the management. My husband told me to leave it but I’ve come home and decided I wanted to let you know how poor of an experience you delivered tonight as would hate other diners to have to have the same and also a thanks for running what was meant to be a celebration meal/evening"

"This is an exquisite dine in restaurant. They serve amazing and tasty Indian Pakistani Halal food. It was my first time ever to eat Indian or Pakistani food but it was extremely delicious. The restaurant design is amazing, the staff is friendly. What I did like most is that the owner of restaurant himself checks with guests how was the food, place, and also friendly and welcoming to the guests. Definitely I will visit the restaurant again to try more main courses."

"I had a portion of samosas to start and had chilli sauce and mint yoghurt on them. The chilli sauce was so salty I could hardly eat it. I scraped off my samosas and managed to salvage them. The samosas were quite nice apart from the edges of the pastry that were almost too tough to chew. I had mixed seekh and chicken tikka kebab on naan. The seekh was very dry and over cooked. The chicken was nice though. I avoided the chilli sauce having had it on my samosas. The kebab was served on a plastic naan tray, with no plate, so as I ate it the sauces dripped straight through on to the table which was pretty inconvenient. Years ago this was my go-to kebab stop in Rusholme. I'll try somewhere else next time."

"As a vegan I really did not have a good meal. The menu shows Vg in the symbols but not one dish is Vg The chickpea channa was nothing more than a few tinned chickpeas with a horrid taste of tin and no flavour. Over priced rubbish. The mini samosa starter was stodgy and insipid The plain roti was good I went home hungry Vegans beware Vegetarian options: Vegan options are dire Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1"

"We walked to this village pub and decided to have food. The drinks were a fair price, and there appeared a decent menu. We had some chicken fillets to start, which were okay. However, the mains are very dreadful. The chips on both meals looked as though they had been fried ten times, simply burnt as was the fish which was simply inedible. The excuse for mushy peas was dry and bland. The gammon was overcooked, and both meals were saturated with salt but no condiments on the outside table. The lady serving was pleasant enough, and we gave feedback. She advised the locals don't go anymore I won't be going back either. Part of the excuse was that they didn't decide the food Punch Taverns agreed on the menu that was irrelevant as no matter how good the food was it was massively overcooked and laced with salt."

"Stayed just the one night, parking round the back simple and great. Central location for all ofCleethorpes. Check in staff Kate was professional, didn’t really agree with the one night fee for my well behaved cocker spaniel of £25, that really hurt, I expected around £10 extra as most hotels charge where I have stayed. Room was ample with sky TV and even a cooling fan for the hot weather, had a quiet night. Nights receptionist Katie was great, going the extra mile with a smile. Breakfast was to order, cooked fresh, nice and hot, ok we were last in but chef was pleasant and accommodating to any requests. Lots of entertaining ornaments to look at for sale, a good idea to boost income and certainly a talking point. All in all, I would stay again, without my dog but with the charge, it becomes expensive. Pass my Thanks to the staff."

"I came to the Bengal Clipper having won a meal for four at a function we held there. On arrival the Waiter questioned our prize letter for the meals. He did not offer us drinks or a nibbles but questioned us about 20 times about the letter not having a stamp on it. This was not done in a quiet manner. I got so annoyed at being embarrassed in this way that I said I am going to eat in the Italian restaurant next door and duly did. After eating next door I came back to find my colleagues were still eating their starters. It was then that one of them pulled out a bit of plastic out of their mouth that was mixed in with the starter. The waiter apologised and offered another starter I ordered a drink and chatted for a while. Everyone was moaning about how long it was taking for the main courses to arrive. I then got up to go to the toilet and on the way there a mouse ran across my path. It was at this point I made my excuses and left. I will never be going back to the Bengal clipper."

"This was my second visit to PURE in a week. The food here really is outstanding. Full of clear and noticeable flavour and good variety. It is NOT a typical Indian restaurant with a menu longer than a Redwood tree in Yosemite but a thoughtful selection of curries including a Degustation menu for GBP52.00. I have had scallops twice now and my Chef partner and daughter and sister have shared multiple dishes as well. The staff are considerate and professional and VERY keen to please. Good wine selection again and of course suitable beer to accompany anything spicy. Comfortable seating arrangements and clean toilets. I LOVE this place. Small, high level, no nonsense, good simple food done really well. Cant wait to go back!"

"The Arnos Arms is generally a good pub. The venue and décor is nice, the staff are friendly polite and there is a decent drinks selection. It is quite pricey however – and the food can be hit and miss. We went for a Sunday roast recently with adults and children. The roast chicken served was very good. The roast beef was poor – very thin slices – generally not enjoyable. The veg on all dinners was average. We had to ask for more gravy, condiments etc. Another visit mid-week with family. Fish and Chip dinner was good. Those that had burgers were not happy – generally overcooked and dry. General opinion of other dishes was very average. We did mention variable quality to staff member when paying the bill – who was apologetic. Will still go to the Arnos for a drink – but for family meals will try other venues for a bit as the current food offer is no great draw. Food and service need to be improved in line with prices charged."

"I want to start by saying that we have ordered takeaways from Mama Thai for over 4 years now. We used to live nearby and, despite sometimes inconsistent quality of food, we continued to order from them even after we moved further out. We've noticed over the years that the customer service has got increasingly worse. There is a sense of complete disinterest whenever they get an order wrong/it takes twice the time promised etc. Once, when I had to go all the way back and tell them one of the dishes was wrong, the manager (who I believe most of these issues stem from) when prompted, compensated me with 20p (no joke). On a recent order, one of the dishes didn't turn up, and when we rang to ask if they could sort this they palmed off any responsibility, and told us to sort it out with the delivery company, even though it was very clearly their mistake. Not only this, but the food on many occasions has become increasingly sub standard. After 4 years of loyal service, we are sad to write this review but feel others should at least be aware of how poor this place has become. We will no longer be ordering from Mama Thai."

"Look, I 'm 53 years of age. I 've had a fair few curries in my lifetime: some good, some awesome, some average, some poor. But by far and away the worst curry I 've *ever* had came from Mumbai Spice on Woodborough Road, Nottingham. I 've only ever had one meal that I paid for that was worse and that was burnt). Anyhow, your heart always sinks a bit when you open a takeaway container and it 's swimming with sauce with only a few pieces of insipid chicken chucked in: and Mumbai Spice was such an offender. What can I say about the taste... the weirdest Dansak ever. Sickly sweet with a few sticky lentils floating about, forlornly looking for the meat. Sooooooooooo bad; I was brought up never to waste food but I genuinely couldn 't finish this, so vile was it. I do feel they insulted me, presenting this as a curry. Just awful. Still, we 've learned our lesson it 'll never happen again: we 'll *never* go back. So save yourself being insulted as well and find somewhere else to go. Read the other reviews if you 're not convinced. And Mumbai Spice: just a little customer service tip... when you say you 've 'put some free poppadoms in ', if three people are ordering, at least put three of them in. Otherwise it just makes you look mean. It 's a no brainer)."

"5 stars are based on the cheeseboard I had. I am very, very hard to please when it comes to cheeseboards. Many local eateries (and even abroad actually) you are promised a cheeseboard only to be handed a sorry excuse for an anaemic looking side plate. The Farmers provides a cheeseboard with strength. A generous serving of three local cheese with an appropriate amount of crackers. They do not scimp on the good stuff. I am relieved to have found an establishment worthy of calling themselves a cheeseboard provider. I also was there for an open mic night. The atmosphere was lovely, locals and staff alike were very friendly and welcoming."

"For those who wants to order their EARLY BIRDS, don 't only ask the waiter girls, ask the cashier. They CHANGED the early bird timing by pen in their menu from 6.30pm to 6pm. We reached around 5.48pm and seated around 5.50pm. The waiters seemed to ignore you (we tried to raise/wave our hands several times) until near 6pm. When they finally wanted to take order, we asked the girl whether we could still enjoy the early bird set and she said 'yes '. After dinner, the cashier told us that we could not get the early bird set because the order timing in their system passed 6pm. The ambience of the pub is good and relaxing. The location is strategic, near the lake. Most of the foods were delicious, the mussel starter was very good with only 1-2 unopened. The chicken rotisserie was a good one. The burger patties were moist and tasty. The sausage was good and I liked its sides. The pork was tender and could be counted as the best dish that we had in this pub. The sticky toffee pudding was very tasty."

"This should really be a 5 star review but due to staff not adhering to covid rules it has to be a 3. The quality of food saved it from being a 1. Staff started off with the masks on but shortly after opening they either had the masks on with their nose exposed, hanging from their chins leaving the mouth exposed as well or just hanging around their necks. I did remind them about this and one look shocked and another pulled it up then as he walked away pulled it straight back down. Now onto what this review should be about is the food which definitely did not disappoint. We had the £11.95 offer which is on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. This consists of any starter, any main, any side dish and either rice or naan bread. The food came out hot and tasted really nice. We left with most of our mains and rice as we were full after poppadoms and starters. The portion sizes were bug to say the least. Excellent value for money. The food was finished off with a complimentary drink. As said the face masks aside this would easily be 5 stars"
