"When we arrived I was really pleased as all the tables had tablecloths and cloth napkins. We ordered poppadoms and prickles which were nice, and I ordered a Thai chicken curry and my nephew ordered a vegetable curry along vegetable noodles. When the curries arrived they looked exactly the same, and I think they were. The one I was given didn’t have any chicken in it, so went back to kitchen. When my dish returned it looked entirely different, and it had chicken in it, but it also had aubergine which I am allergic to. I had to pick the aubergine out. We didn’t have the experience I was hoping for, it was very disappointing. There were only two other people in the restaurant so it wasn’t busy, goodness knows how they managed to get my meal so wrong."

"We were all a little sceptical about choosing this month's venue for our monthly dining trip, but have to say we were not disappointed. Hospitality was very good, they were accommodating when we asked to switch from a booth table to a more open table. Each course was enjoyable, and just enough time between courses. They catered for the odd amendments to the mains, and served us up some good flavoursome dishes. Would recommend again and again. After working in Lye for over 35 years and seeing the demise of so many good Indian restaurants, Malik's has certainly made me want to go back for more. Well done guys."

"When our meal arrived, everything seemed fine until my husband discovered a piece of chicken tikka in his dish. Luckily, we had not started eating yet and he did not ingest the chicken. We were very upset and called the waiter over. He apologized and offered to replace the dish, but we were too disgusted by the experience to accept. It seemed like a deliberate act, as we had specifically requested vegan dishes this time, whereas in the past we were fine with vegetarian options. We feel that this incident is unacceptable, regardless of whether it was a mistake or intentional. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant, despite the fact that the food is normally very good. This disappointing experience has left a bad taste in our mouths. Vegan and vegetarian diners, beware!"

"We ordered our food at 18:30 direct from their website. It was due to be delivered at 19:30. At 19:50 I called chasing my order as it still wasn’t even showing as being enroute. They asked to call me back, which they did 10 mins later. They advised the food would be another 15 mins. I politely pointed out that will have meant it was 45 mins late and will be delivered 1 hour and 45 mins after I ordered it. The gentlemen was quite aggressive in his verbal tone and attitude. He repeatedly spoke over me too. I decided it was best just to call the telephone call to an end. The service was pretty appalling which is a shame because the food itself was good. However I’m personally not willing to order from them again, to be left waiting for an hour and 45 mins for the food, with no proactive warning or apology, and then receive the level of aggression I received."

"So great! Decided on this place last minute. We were trying to get a last dose of Indian food on our way out of town. We hit up Indian Summer, and while it was fine if you’re looking for a more UK-ified hipster take, it really wasn’t the authentic Indian spot. This place is small, run by Indians, and Indian customers. In other words, it’s legit. Get the Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower) and Chili Paneer appetizers for sure. The curries were great, and the bread (get the Parota) was like none I’ve had before. So good and soft and flakey in a way. Great people and staff and would definitely be back."

"Ordered a delivery from just eat on the October, my meal was missing a main and a side, I phoned to let them know they forgot my items and if they could deliver them, to then be told the items were delivered and that I was lying, I was told I would not get a refund and that they did not have the time to deal with my issue. The food that did turn up was mins late and cold, avoid at all costs!"

"Travelling from the south coast for the day, I found this restaurant online purely by chance when I was looking for restaurants close to Wilton's Music Hall, and I'm very glad I did. The restaurant was very quiet when we arrived 6.00pm and we got very attentive service, although I imagine it got busy later in the evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were lovely. While we were there a small group came in who were revisting the area after many years away, and were coming back to the restaurant they used to use regularly a commendation in itself. The prices were reasonable for London we were very happy with everything and will definitely eat there again if we're in the area."

"Passing by noticed that they were offering unlimited roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and gravy with the roast dinners and seeing as I was hungry I thought I’d pop in for a roast and a pint. Service was swift and the girl behind the bar was very friendly. Ordered a turkey roast and I was not disappointed. Had a few of the unlimited Yorkies and potatoes after as per the sign on the window and there was no moaning/grumbling like some places tend to do. Would recommend and will have again when in the area."

After nearly two hours we called and were treated like we are scum and had the most unhelpful person ever. So no food, over forty pounds down and a very upset wife. "We visited with friends on a Saturday evening from the outside my heart sank no kerb appeal weeds around the building old torn stickers of past achievement and accredition in the far from clean windows limited exterior signs did not look great but car park was full so that was a good sign. Rather brusk welcome interior was smart and clean orders taken efficiently. Food arrived in good time and I have to say was really good. The waiters became more relaxed as the evening went on. 112 for 4 people that included 4 x cobras and a bottle of wine not bad. Hands shakes on leaving. I do think some exterior spruce up would pay dividends and look like someone cared and some gentle background music to add a little atmosphere to an otherwise clinical which I had no issue with interior most importantly though food was good and front of house premises and toilets were clean. Can recommend you can't always judge a book by its cover."

"Back in my 'day ' (the late 80 's, 90 's and early 2k), Blackwood Rd had the usual town/village shops. Walks to school including a stop at Taylors News for sweets, chippy tea, hair cut, pharmaceutical support... Roll on 30 years later, and something that could have come a lot lot sooner (when I was walking the streets, on my way home after a night out at the local public houses when turning '18 ' in the late 90 's) there is a restaurant. An indian restaurant. Visiting parents, as now live in Lincolnshire, and they took me here... Service; fantastic, very personal, great conversation. Location; 'hidden ' away, and parking could be an issue if early doors. Drinks; unlicensed, so BYOB. Wine for me. Food; when 'testing ' an Indian restaurant I will always go with the chefs/restaurants 'own ' Jalfrazi. If its good, I know the rest of the menu will be good. Lots of experience here . No complaints from parents, nor myself. Price; absolutely spot on for portion size. Lamb Tikka Sylheti Jalfrazi. Not over powered with chilli, just a nice warmth on the back of the tongue, perfection. As well as the starters, all was beautiful. Highly recommended, and parents say take out/delivery is spot on too. Those that know me, you know I like my curry. If i say its good, its very good.
