"Very surprised to read some of the reviews from visitors at TigerBay Shisha and Carlton Lounge as we have always had excellent service and the food is some of the best Indian dishes we have had.We were seated inside the TigerBay Shisha Lounge however as this has open sides all round and even an open roof in warmer days or nights, we felt completely safe and COVID protected. The evening was very busy but had a great atmosphere and we didn’t feel cramped or as if we were too near to other customers. The music especially with the appearance of DJ Shraii gives something a little bit extra special than other venues. All members of staff wore face masks and we noticed they politely reminded any customers to use their masks when not seated at their tables. The food is always hot and you can hear the sizzle plates sizzling as the food is served. Portions are really generous and we usually find it hard choosing from all the delicious dishes on offer. The mocktails are especially good and the fruity versions topped with fresh and sweet fruit. We have not tried the Shisha varieties however talking to people we met last week, they said the choices are good and flavours excellent quality. So even without Shisha being available at the moment under Covid rules, TigerBay Shisha Lounge is a great venue. We are looking forward to spending many more summer evenings especially in the garden area which is beautifully filled with gorgeous plants and makes you feel you are on holiday and not just on an evening out.Keep doing what you do so well TigerBay Shisha and Carlton Lounge."

"The food at this restaurant is made fresh to order. The Dal could use a bit more salt, but it was still good when paired with rice. The standout aspect of this place is the excellent service. The host even went above and beyond to create a new mocktail for a colleague who did not like the Virgin Colada. The food may take a bit longer to be served since it is made to order, but it is definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend this restaurant for its exceptional service and fresh, made-to-order food."

"I tried Dangal for the first time and I will definitely be going back. The food is fresh, the aromas are fantastic, and there are dishes I've never encountered before. It is a bit more expensive than other takeaways, but the extra few pounds are worth it."

"came here to my man's birthday and we had the 7-course tasting menu. larger portion size than other fine restaurants and they leave the feeling very full and satisfied. the food was really good and the staff was all friendly and attentive, we really can not blame this restaurant at all and we look forward to coming back soon. in any case recommend!"

"This is a slightly weird place. It 's essentially an Indian restaurant, but housed in a seen better days pub. When you walk in you 're confronted by a somewhat scruffy pub bar to your right and a big dining area to your left. It all has a rather shabby air to it. Not only is it rather strange, but it 's also very cold! The heating comes from aircon style blowers above the room, which means that the lower levels don 't get warm. My feet were cold the whole time I was there. As the theme is Indian food, I decided to try a chicken tikka dish with spinach, which was marked as a new dish on the menu. Oh dear, that was a bad choice. The chicken pieces had tikka colour, but virtually no tikka flavour. The creamy spinach sauce was very bland and uninspiring. The poppadum chutneys were good, though. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good, but that counts for nothing if the food particularly Indian food is bland and lacklustre."

"The COVID compliance was shocking. We did not see staff sanitising tables in between customers. Although staff were wearing masks. We ordered 2 Long Island ice teas. There were certainly lacking the alcohol and were very sweet. When raised this with the waiter we were told he had put 50ml of the spirits and next time it will be better. It was obvious that these were not made correctly! We ordered the mixed grill- the sheek kebabs were awful! They were cold and hard, so we raised this with the manager and he apologised and replaced them. The new plate came and this time the kebabs were warm however still hard and chewy. They were not freshly made! We sent these back and the manager spoke to the chef and confirmed it was an error On their part. The wings, tikka and chops were very nice. We decided not to order mains. Staff were great, the manager gave a discount due to the issues raised however would have preferred decent cocktails and food I would not recommend this place as cocktails are watered down and the food is mediocre."

"It 's such a shame the word Indian leads some people to have false expectations. Yes Hawkyns may look pricey, but only when compared to your standard Indian. This place is a million miles from standard , and the prices are sensible by fair comparison. Every single dish we have tried from the refreshingly small menu is truly exceptional in terms of skill, flavour, texture and presentation. Don 't expect anything vaguely conventional here. Expect adventurous but beautifully balanced, flavoursome dishes, at prices that compare very favourably with comparable up-market Indian restaurants in London. So why only 2 AA rosettes (and only a 4 star review here)? Well the decor is pretty basic, the service is friendly but informal and a little slapdash, the toilets are utilitarian, and the atmosphere is somewhat lacking. However if you just come for the food it really is seriously good. Highly recommended."

"We went to London for my wife's 50th birthday and Bombay Palace was recommended by a friend. This place did not disappoint. The service and food were excellent. Also, the owner and waiter were concerned about our kids regarding the spicy nature of the food without knowing our kids liking Indian food and being familiar with the spices. We appreciated the concern and care. Clean, efficient, great atmosphere and highly recommend!"

"Had been looking forward to trying this place as had heard great reviews but unfortunately very disappointed. Ordered chilli garlic Prawns which did not contain peppers as described and the sauce tasted like chilli ketchup. Squid starter was the most disappointing, the batter was coming off the squid resulting in a congealed sauce which was thick anyway.. Shame about texture as sauce was flavoursome. . The butter chicken was lovely but quite spicy which is surprising as this dish is usually mild, unfortunately no indication of spice level on website otherwise would have asked for spice to be reduced. Placed order over the phone but now wished I placed it on website as they didn't apply correct meal deal, when asked I was advised the butter chicken was not classic curry and therefore not included in deal. Only checked when I returned home and this was one of the dish choices on website for the meal deals. This resulted in over charging me which is bit dishonest."

"Have wanted to try this takeaway for a couple of years due to good reviews and a love of spicy food. So finally ordered online last night. Went for the set meal for two consisting of Poppadoms and chutney, two pakoras, salad, two mains with...rice and nan. Had the Himalayan Lamb and Hot Khathmandu Chicken for mains and it was delicious. Everything was cooked really well. Normally with a takeaway you have to re-heat the mains if you eat the starter separately but not in this case, it was all piping hot. Only very slight criticism was too much rice and a plain nan instead of peshwari or keema, but overall an excellent meal. Well worth a try."

"Used to be good, this time around we were served raw chicken and when I told them they proceeded to argue that the expert the chef said it was not. I pointed out the blood and pink bits of chicken but was no use as the expert didn’t agree. Not great customer service nor did they offer a discount or apology and I paid the meal even if I didn’t eat it."

"for our booked time, shown too table, but took the staff 20 minutes too table to order any form of order (drinks or eat!) not said that the restaurant does not take a card! I pretend I had to leave the restaurant to drive the money machine over the street to pay the bill. bill received however, could not believe that the price of a pint of cobra 8 pfund! was always satisfied with the service before in this restaurant, but that was not our best experience."

"Carnaby Street Eat part 2 here! So another stall we tried is a stall from the Indian restaurant, Cinnamon Soho. In case you haven’t heard about the restaurant Cinnamon Soho, it is under the flagship Cinnamon Club restaurant, which is said to be ‘an institution of in the world of Indian fine dining’. Cinnamon Soho is the third restaurant from chef Vivek Singh following the success from his second restaurant Cinnamon Kitchen which is an award-winning restaurant that’s said to have redefined modern Indian cookery in London."

"Group of 8. We were served politely and in a friendly, timely manner and the restaurant seemed spotless. Having to go down a spiral staircase to the toilets proved difficult for some of the group, I ordered a vegetable korma and a peshwari naan. The curry contained overcooked courgettes (weird as I associate these with Mediterranean cuisine) and overcooked cauliflower, was the veg previously frozen? Disappointed. Also felt let down by the naan, which was flavoured with lots of fennel. Never had a fennel flavoured peshwari naan before. Doubly disappointed. We will not return."

"Food Poisoning! Beware! After enjoying a meal with some friends, we all wound up with a wicked case of food poisoning the following day. While the food was tasty, it's not worth it! I followed up with the management who was unhelpful and indifferent. Poor customer service. There are so many great restaurants in Tooting- avoid this one!"

"I have tried the best karak chai ever at this restaurant. I am a fan of its sweet taste and the perfectly balanced sugar in the drink. The restaurant also offers an amazing selection of cakes and sweets. The atmosphere is great and they stay open late every day, making it one of the best places to meet up late at night outside of pubs, closing at 1:30 AM."
