"Very surprised to read some of the reviews from visitors at TigerBay Shisha and Carlton Lounge as we have always had excellent service and the food is some of the best Indian dishes we have had.We were seated inside the TigerBay Shisha Lounge however as this has open sides all round and even an open roof in warmer days or nights, we felt completely safe and COVID protected. The evening was very busy but had a great atmosphere and we didn’t feel cramped or as if we were too near to other customers. The music especially with the appearance of DJ Shraii gives something a little bit extra special than other venues. All members of staff wore face masks and we noticed they politely reminded any customers to use their masks when not seated at their tables. The food is always hot and you can hear the sizzle plates sizzling as the food is served. Portions are really generous and we usually find it hard choosing from all the delicious dishes on offer. The mocktails are especially good and the fruity versions topped with fresh and sweet fruit. We have not tried the Shisha varieties however talking to people we met last week, they said the choices are good and flavours excellent quality. So even without Shisha being available at the moment under Covid rules, TigerBay Shisha Lounge is a great venue. We are looking forward to spending many more summer evenings especially in the garden area which is beautifully filled with gorgeous plants and makes you feel you are on holiday and not just on an evening out.Keep doing what you do so well TigerBay Shisha and Carlton Lounge."

"The food at this restaurant is made fresh to order. The Dal could use a bit more salt, but it was still good when paired with rice. The standout aspect of this place is the excellent service. The host even went above and beyond to create a new mocktail for a colleague who did not like the Virgin Colada. The food may take a bit longer to be served since it is made to order, but it is definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend this restaurant for its exceptional service and fresh, made-to-order food."

"This is a slightly weird place. It 's essentially an Indian restaurant, but housed in a seen better days pub. When you walk in you 're confronted by a somewhat scruffy pub bar to your right and a big dining area to your left. It all has a rather shabby air to it. Not only is it rather strange, but it 's also very cold! The heating comes from aircon style blowers above the room, which means that the lower levels don 't get warm. My feet were cold the whole time I was there. As the theme is Indian food, I decided to try a chicken tikka dish with spinach, which was marked as a new dish on the menu. Oh dear, that was a bad choice. The chicken pieces had tikka colour, but virtually no tikka flavour. The creamy spinach sauce was very bland and uninspiring. The poppadum chutneys were good, though. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are good, but that counts for nothing if the food particularly Indian food is bland and lacklustre."

"not cheap, but I had decided I was worth it. beautiful seat with views of the thems. the waiters were extremely polite, discreet, but always available if necessary. the cheeseboard was beautiful, and as tasty bites I decided to finish with a cocktail that was tailored to my taste, as I didn't want anything too sweet. I would visit again."

"very nice restaurant. love the interiors. beautiful looking place with a bar. and apparently they soon open a Sheesha lounge and look forward to it! had a great experience here. Eat: we started with Indian ingwer and Masala tea, which was really good, and pappadum. for the main course we ordered chicken tikka masala and a fried rice, dhaba chicken and pilaureis and Karahi sprout with plain naan. I must say we were not disappointed by any of the dishes. the food was delicious and portioned enough to fill it completely. price: a little expensive, too little for us students, but I would say it worth it. service: the staff is very polite and beautiful! very happy with the service. definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves or wants to try good Indian food!"

"Went there for the first time and chose the 5 course tasting menu. The first 3 courses were bite sized portions, 4th had rice, black daal naan as accompaniments followed by dessert. Having tasted Indian food in a lot of places in UK, I would say the food was very good but not mind blowing. Everything was tastefully presented looked good. But the wow factor was missing. Service was top notch attentive but not intrusive. The decor is quite pub like since the restaurant is housed in a very old hotel but that adds to the charm. Was quite busy for a Wed evening so it seems to be popular!!"

"Dined here on a Saturday at start of February at 930pm. Place was like a graveyard with only a few other tables. All of which left soon after leaving us only ones there on a Saturday night. Felt bit rushed by the staff to eat up and go so they could close up and go. But to be fair they did wait until just before 11 to actually say we had to leave. Pity as the food was above average and very good. Asked waiter if always so quiet on a Saturday night and he said it was in January/February. Might give them another chance later on in year as food was good. But only if another 50% off food offer. Otherwise without that food was quite pricey."

"We went for a family meal to celebrate a special event. We have eaten here several times before and were always impressed with the quality of the food. On this occasion we were eating late in the evening due to other commitments. Some of the food was disappointing. I ordered the lamb tikka biryani. When it arrived, it was clearly chicken not lamb! The rice was very dry and it came with a spicy sauce rather than a vegetable curry. I ate about a third of it. One of the other meals was not particularly inspiring and did not match the promised description. The service was very good, although we did feel the staff were waiting for us to finish as we were the last customers there. In all, we have been a little put off returning to what was one of our favourite places to eat and I am not sure we could recommend it to others despite having done so in the past."

"Have wanted to try this takeaway for a couple of years due to good reviews and a love of spicy food. So finally ordered online last night. Went for the set meal for two consisting of Poppadoms and chutney, two pakoras, salad, two mains with...rice and nan. Had the Himalayan Lamb and Hot Khathmandu Chicken for mains and it was delicious. Everything was cooked really well. Normally with a takeaway you have to re-heat the mains if you eat the starter separately but not in this case, it was all piping hot. Only very slight criticism was too much rice and a plain nan instead of peshwari or keema, but overall an excellent meal. Well worth a try."

"for our booked time, shown too table, but took the staff 20 minutes too table to order any form of order (drinks or eat!) not said that the restaurant does not take a card! I pretend I had to leave the restaurant to drive the money machine over the street to pay the bill. bill received however, could not believe that the price of a pint of cobra 8 pfund! was always satisfied with the service before in this restaurant, but that was not our best experience."

"I have tried the best karak chai ever at this restaurant. I am a fan of its sweet taste and the perfectly balanced sugar in the drink. The restaurant also offers an amazing selection of cakes and sweets. The atmosphere is great and they stay open late every day, making it one of the best places to meet up late at night outside of pubs, closing at 1:30 AM."

"I had read some TripAdvisor comments about how the food was great but the service was poor. Well, our experience was far from it BOTH the food and the service were great! Our waiter was very attentive and personable and the food tasted authentic and wasn't too pricey.<br <br The only thing was that when we asked for water they brought out bottles which we were then charged for (although the staff removed the charges as soon as we asked), so I think it was just miscommunication, so make sure you specify for tap water if that's what you want.<br <br Great area, tasty food and spot on service!"

"What an absolute find! We happened on this restaurant while visiting Chelsea. TPH is an elegant restaurant featuring a wonderful balance of mainstream dishes with a sophisticated twist. A perfect example is the samosa appetizer. Light and fluffy on the inside and delicately crisp on the outside. This would have been great on it’s on own but was served with a chickpea stew combining a wonderful blend of herbs and spices that made it one of the best things I’ve eaten in quite some time. The menu features rich, textured curries, perfectly tender meats, fresh seafood and veggie dishes served by a gracious husband and wife team who truly care about your dining experience. All this and not while not putting a big dent in your pocketbook. We will definitely be back."
