"I visited this restaurant last Sunday and tried their authentic Indian cuisine. I had Vadapav paired with some delicious masala tea and thoroughly enjoyed it! I definitely need to visit again to try out more of their dishes. The service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I highly recommend trying their Pav Bhaji and Samosa. This restaurant is a must-visit for breakfast, with prices ranging from £1-10 per person."

"I recently had dinner at this restaurant and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The price per person was over £100 but it was well worth it. The food was exceptional, I would rate it a 5, and the service was top-notch as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also a 5, creating a very enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend trying the Vegan Momo, Chips Chilli, Chilli Chicken, Chicken Prawn Chow Mein, and Chicken Momos as they were all delicious. For vegetarians, I would highly recommend this restaurant as they have a large selection of vegetarian dishes to choose from. Overall, I had a great meal at this restaurant and I would definitely visit again."

"We came for lunch on a Sunday quite early and ordered one Chicken Shawarma, x 4 Sweet Potato Fries, Cookie Dough Bonanza and Kunefe. 5mins later the waiter says don't have any of the desserts we asked for or the Chicken Shawarma so we said we'll take 4 drinks and fries, another 5mins later a different waitress came to inform us they didn't have any sweet potato fries, eventually we cancelled all the food as they couldn't give us what we originally came for to order. We drank our drinks in an empty restaurant (I wonder why) and the floors were sticky on the way to the restroom. This place used to be great hence why we came today only be let down by the low standards that have befallen this place. They could of got the sweet potato fries from Home Bargain next door, it would be understanable if it was near closing time. Did the cook not inform the waiter/waitresses what wasn't available to order beforehand? Just made them look clueless"

"I was really looking forward to dining here based on the reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was just average and overpriced. Generally, I expect more than just poppadums and a dive when I visit an Indian restaurant. The lamb curry was too chewy, and the portions were quite small. As for dessert, the options were limited to frozen ice rather than any traditional choices."

"I visited many places in Edinburgh, but this was my first time at Gautam's, and I was not disappointed. Even without a reservation, I received a warm welcome. The Indian cuisine was incredibly delicious—well-prepared and beautifully presented. It's rare to find restaurants in the area that maintain authentic flavors while catering to local tastes, but Gautam's excels at this. The staff is very friendly, and the seating is comfortable and clean. We truly enjoyed both the food and the hospitality. The biryani was outstanding, and the portion sizes were generous, leaving us very satisfied. I will definitely be back—it has quickly become one of my new favorites!"

"Other people were receiving there food before us even though we ordered before them. I don’t think our order was given to the kitchen. Had to remind them about our order, once it finally came out the order was wrong my girlfriend received a beef boa bun she had one bit and realised it was meat (she’s a vegetarian). We told the staff it was wrong so they came back again with the wrong order. She received the prawn boa bun when she ordered the vegan tofu one. The manager asked who took our order (it was him) so he clearly didn’t remember or just didn’t put our order though. Finally received the correct food with no apology. So wasn’t great experience tbh..most likely won’t go again"

"I had a hospital appointment and was looking for somewhere for lunch nearby after for my mum's birthday. I find it hard to book restaurants due to my dietary requirements but was very happy to see both gluten free and dairy free clearly labelled on the menu. The food did not disappoint. I'm usually left with one or two options if I'm lucky on the menu but I found there were so many options. The food tasted fresh, well made and with plenty of flavour. There were so many choices on the menu with different dishes from different influences which I loved. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive and polite. The alcohol free drink options were excellent and I had a mocktail which was a wonderful change from the standard soft drinks many restaurants offer. If you live nearby or are passing through I would thoroughly recommend visiting this restaurant. Delicious food and great service."

"My wife and I have always loved Lily 's, unfortunately we have seen another side to this place recently. On Saturday, September 23rd, we were in the Alexander next door to the restaurant. Knowing they close at 10pm, we attempted to get in at bang on 9pm but were told no-one was allowed in after 9, it was 9pm, but we weren 't going to argue the point so we went elsewhere. Then again, tonight 21/10/2023, we decided we wouldn 't make that mistake again, so we went at 7:45pm. OK, we hadn 't booked, but thought they 'd be able to squeeze us in. We asked for a table for three people, but were told, as we hadn 't booked, we couldn 't go in. I looked around the room and there seemed to be a few empty table. Anyway we left the premises, then decided we 'd go back in and get takeaway. While we were waiting in the queue at the takeaway section, we were shocked to hear the lady on the door, tell a group of four people, who asked for a table and hadn 't pre-booked, Yes, we can squeeze you in! What the heck is that all about? Discrimination against football fans? We weren 't drunk or unruly, so why the prejudice?"

"2nd time ordering first week didn’t deliver a rice dish and ordered black coconut ice cream but just sent cookie dough instead as changed supplier. This week forgot to included husbands Katsu curry and rice and can’t get through on phone. Very disappointed. I hope you credit me back for this as we paid online when we placed ordered. "I was surprised to realize that I had never written a review for Prashad, so I will make up for that now. My wife, daughter, son, his girlfriend, and I have dined at this restaurant four times - three times as a couple and once as a family. We have always had a great experience during each visit. I have only been to one other Indian restaurant as impressive as Prashad, but unfortunately, it is now closed (Hansa's in Leeds). The service at Prashad is excellent, with attentive staff who are not overbearing. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and really enhances the overall dining experience. Most importantly, the food at Prashad is top-notch. We have tried the tasting menu three times and have always been very impressed. The only downside to Prashad is the price, as it can be quite expensive. However, we have never minded paying more because the food is so delicious. In terms of vegetarian options, everything on the menu is vegetarian and there is a wide variety to choose from."

"I highly recommend this restaurant! It was our first experience at an Indian restaurant, and our waitress, Megna, was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu. The manager was also very kind and arranged a table for us, even though we hadn't made a reservation. If I had to mention one downside, it would be that it was a bit noisy, but I believe that was more due to the crowd on that particular day rather than a reflection of the restaurant itself.
