"Stayed in Newcastle on a Sunday on our way to Edinburgh and didn't realize how late it was when we arrived. We were starving and desperately trying to find decent food at 10pm and were recommended Dabbawal. They let us order even though the kitchen closed in 7 minutes. We got the chef's choice and cocktails and everything was amazing. Probably the best Indian food I've ever had. Great value for the prices. The manager and staff were incredibly kind, even though we arrived 30 minutes before they closed. 10/10, thank you for taking great care of us."

"Absolutely incredible! I took my father here for his birthday because he loves curry, and I know Akbars is one of the best Indian restaurants in Newcastle, if not the best. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us like long-lost relatives. They made us feel very welcome. The service was exceptional, rivaling that of five-star hotels. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations for delicious dishes. The manager also came by to ensure everything was satisfactory. We were blown away by the excellent service and mouthwatering food—so much so that I forgot to take pictures and ended up diving into my meal like a hungry animal! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend!"

"I made a reservation through OpenTable a month in advance. When I arrived with my group of eight, we were turned away because the restaurant was unprepared for us. There was no explanation given; they acknowledged the booking but refused to honor it without providing any reason. Being the busiest night of the year during the holiday season, we were left to search for another restaurant, but, unsurprisingly, there were none available. It was incredibly disappointing."

"It was the end of May, we were in England...it was obviously cold and wet. So even though all CURRYBOND venues should be within walking distance we lined up a couple of cars for our first CURRYBOND convoy! Seeing as our venue for this week is in the upper reaches of Tooting very much in Bec territory, we were happy to avoid the 20 min walk to The Gorringe in British Summertime 10 CURRYBONDs down, it finally happened, recognition. Jobbers, first to arrive was warmly greeted by the patrons of Spice Village with a welcome, we recognised you from the website and he wasn't even wearing his I Heart CURRYBOND T-shirt! As the CURRYBONDers filter through we take our place on what can only...read more"
