"Absolutely incredible! I took my father here for his birthday because he loves curry, and I know Akbars is one of the best Indian restaurants in Newcastle, if not the best. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us like long-lost relatives. They made us feel very welcome. The service was exceptional, rivaling that of five-star hotels. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations for delicious dishes. The manager also came by to ensure everything was satisfactory. We were blown away by the excellent service and mouthwatering food—so much so that I forgot to take pictures and ended up diving into my meal like a hungry animal! I would give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend!"

Got the chicken nambali as a starter which was delicious. The mains were very flavour some and portions were good for the price. The naan like the other branches is huge. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking off street nearby or the granger carpark is next to here.

The food was fantastic—delicious and wonderfully diverse. The restaurant itself is modern and bright. The standout dish was the naan; it could have easily been a meal on its own! Not only did it look great, but it was also flavorful and incredibly light. The real highlights for me were the wobbles and the kartoffelbajhi. They were neither greasy nor lacking in flavor. I can't wait to return!

Decent food, reasonably priced, friendly staff. The food is nice and the staff are great but the service was a little slow. Starters came within 15 minutes but mains, approximately an hour from when we arrived. Restaurant was approximately 60 percent full when we went. Parking is free from 5pm at the multistorey car park behind the restaurant (from 6pm on Sunday). Worth a visit, would definitely go back.

On a Monday night at 7 PM, we arrived and were promptly seated. The service was friendly and attentive. All the food, including the appetizers, was served warm, which was a delightful surprise. We ordered the samosa chaat, chicken tikka masala, and dal, and everything was delicious, warm, and perfectly cooked. The size of the naan was surprising as well; just one was enough to feed three people! The waiter was courteous and helpful throughout our meal. I highly recommend this place and would definitely return!

Excellent eatery with genuine South Asian food! The manager, the other guys who took orders, served food, took away dishes, and the girls at the reception were all marvelous. Ishi, Rab, and Raha are the three whose names I recall. I believe this is a restaurant owned and run by Pakistani guys based in Bradford, but is known as an Indian restaurant. Food was delicious. We ordered their signature family garlic naan It was described to be as big as the ear of an elephant. However, it turned out to be even bigger than that. We ate it with Nihari lamb curry and daal tadka. For drinks we had a jug of sweet Lassi, and Ras Malai for dessert. My daughter and I really enjoyed the repast. We plan to re...
