"I really liked the restaurant. The food was amazing service was great drinks were wonderful for the only one, it was just a little too loud. It could only have been this special night, otherwise it was a great place"

"Chinese dim sum near Little Venice in England? Sign me up this is what London is all about! Having grown up in San Francisco where you can find dim sum places throughout the city, I find myself craving a little part of home every now and then in my adopted home of Germany. Let's just say that discovering Pearl Liang during my vacation to London has been the most authentic experience so far. Admittedly, the restaurant is a bit hard to get to, though it should be convenient if you want to plan a stroll by the canals on a nice day or work in the area. I immediately noticed the tastefully posh interior as soon as I walked in. (Thankfully, it wasn't indicative of the prices! I visited Pearl Liang twice: once for a weekend lunch and once for a weekday dim sum lunch. I'd recommend coming on a weekday not only is service quicker, but you can also order the 10 item dim sum platter for £12.80, which offers classics ranging from har gow to shu mai as well as a grapefruit and mango tapioca dessert. The dim sum was just as delicious as anything I could have ordered back home in San Francisco, and, well, pretty much the same price as well. Don't skip the noodles either! We also had the braised e fu noodles with seafood. Offering a slightly spicy kick, it was full of flavor and fish to boot."

"What a beautiful Japanese culinary experience! I started with edamame, spinach sesame, chicken gyoza, Japanese omelette, and inari, all of which were perfect and delicious. The spicy salmon, tuna fish avocado, and shrimp tempura were also excellent. I couldn't pick a favorite because everything was so tasty with fresh seafood. Service was quick and attentive. For my main course, I had chicken katsu with rice and teriyaki chicken donburi. The katsu was perfectly fried and one of my favorites, while the donburi brought me the authentic flavors of Japan. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and hospitality. I will definitely be visiting again!"

"We have visited Kicho multiple times and are consistently impressed. The service is top-notch and the food is both authentic and delicious. We hope that it continues to maintain this level of excellence indefinitely."

"There are many good Japanese restaurants in London (Chisou, Sakagura, Roka, Murakami, Sosharu, etc) I don't consider Kiri one of them. Kiri's menu items are priced similar to other restaurants but the standard is much lower. The quality of sushi at Kiri was poorer (sinewy and chewy), service was poor even though the restaurant wasn't busy on our visit. Our fairly light, quick meal for two (with a cocktail each and a glass of sochu each) came to £140.00. This seemed very over priced for the food and poor dining experience we had. I wouldn't recommend Kiri and I won't be returning."

"Myself and my husband ate here to kick off our honeymoon. The food in Sakanas was absolutely incredible! We had the beef teriyaki and Korean steak gambi with jasmine rice, and both were gorgeous. Steak was melt in the mouth, incredible flavour and filling. Not the cheapest but well worth what you pay. Nice atmosphere, could have done with some air con as it was very hot in there! The only criticism we had was that the guy serving our table had zero customer service skills. We didn’t get a name but he was the tall server with his hair up in a top knot. No check back to see how our food was, zero conversation, came across as pretty rude and didn’t bother asking if we’d enjoyed the food. It was a shame as some of the other servers were really friendly but we didn’t tip because of his service. Otherwise, lovely meal out! Would definitely recommend for the food itself."

"hopefully not for the first time. this place was checked with a native who had heard about the grapes, it was not bad. the robbery in this case was not wrong, with siam on all flats. forget the fact that the city chester is beautiful in itself, the teppanyaki table that we sat was right next to the channel with view of the punts and boats that past the window, as the sun set the price was very reasonable for a very entertaining show with some great tasting eating at the end. due to the location of chesters and not on the maintourist path I had (unreal) assumed that the Teppanyaki cuisine would not be as good as any other I had seen. could not have been...read more"

"I just want to say that I'll be back here. came for a afternoon dinner and the food quality was amazing. the menu has many options and I decided to try to merge the huh with omelette with a rice floor. that was so soft, melted in my mouth. the same can be said for the salmon, I was in various restaurants that serve lachs in pieces or on a floor of rice, I can say that this place was the best I had in terms of taste and texture. the restaurant itself had a very warm and cozy environment with very cool tables. the staff is attentive during the meal to ensure that they take care of themselves. the only thing I would say was that it was a tad on the expensive side. However, I have always said whether the quality corresponds to the price, then this can be overlooked. would definitely recommend this place to others, but note that the huh is only half here."

"Not having been before, we reserved a table for Friday lunchtime. No need, nobody else ate there but deliveroo were in and out all the time. The food was amazing, especially the sushi and sashimi. Offered fish not normally served in our local Japanese restaurant. Tempura was good. However, there was no heating and we froze. When we mentioned this we were told it was winter! I would love to eat here again but wouldn't book. If it was really cold I'd leave and eat at one of the many restaurants nearby. Or perhaps a takeaway."

"Birthdays are wonderful things, and if you’re one of those people (like me) who like to milk things for all you can, you basically celebrate for an entire month (or longer). One of the final things I did while celebrating my birthday (which included a boozy brunch at Hot Box, a sausage making course at B&H Kitchens, amazing wine from Lucky Chip Burgers and Wine, Unlimited Dim Sum at Fu Manchu, more burgers from Dip and Flip, tacos from Mole Taco Bar and who can remember what else was go for Japanese food at Umu. "My family of five dined at Kouzu while on vacation. Each of us felt a very strange vibe at Kouzu. We were seated in a corner of the first level by a woman who then took our drink orders. There was only one or two other tables filled. My son ordered a soda—a coke. She said they didn’t serve any soda in the restaurant. Really? So he instead ordered a water. She proceeded to bring a large bottle of water that she opened in front of us. I asked what it was—that he wanted just a tap water in place of the soda they didn’t carry. The server then left the table. Another gentlemen came around and sort of took over. I asked him why they didn’t carry any other drinks except water—he said oh we have lemonade coke, Diet Coke etc. The next strange thing was the menu. They gave us ample time with the menu and when they came to take our order I asked what a certain thing was—he said oh that’s a priz five menu that’s different! This menu has never been passed out to us. This was a sushi restaurant and what is nice—and needed quite honestly—is a rundown of each item as it’s placed on the table, as the majority of us ordered a la carte. This didn’t happen. I will say the food itself was delicious, however, the strange vibe we got coupled with the sizable price tag would deter me from patronizing this restaurant again if given the chance."

"Let’s start with the food... we had dinner for 3 and I must say we all loved our food. We had the squid, tenderloin, chicken and vegetarian pasta. All the dishes were cooked as asked and tasted nice. For the wine, we had a bottle of Malbec and it was lovely. The view the view was good, except we weren’t close to the window so didn’t really get the full view. But you can still take it all in. We spend £219 for 3 people including wine. Remember to arrive early to go through security. Don’t try to stop the lifts as it closes on you! And note stick to your booking time if it’s an early sitting."

"Came here with my son on Thursday. We loved it. Our food( we were spoilt for choice so struggled to choose) was delicious. We had Prawn Tempura Sushi and the Moriwase Sashimi plater. The fish just melted in the mouth. My son then had Chicken Katsu Jyu and I had the Beef fillet Teriaki. The beef was divine. We are definitely coming again with younger son and can't recommend enough. Service was excellent and my son enjoyed trying to learn Japanese on all your notices."

"I have a few small dishes, but they also have decent size poke/salad dishes that look really filling. they have a good choice of vegan options that are very clearly marked. beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff and lots of space for lunch. the prizes are not bad considering that it is a sushi bar in this location and if they are a student, they offer a discount. I'm back in a definitiw."

"We arrived to Chotto Matte London in a group of six. We was seated at a table suited for six but it did feel small and cramped. We all had £75 per head and was looking forward to our visit. We scanned a barcode for the menu but it wasn’t very user friendly at all. Here are the dishes I ordered and tried Spicy Chicken Karaage nice flavour, good kick and presented well. The coating was nice. Arroz Chaufa I didn’t go past the second try. We had this ordered 3 times around the table, not one person eat it. Felt grainy and didn’t go together Chuleta de Cordero Ahumada the lamb itself was cooked beautifully. I couldn’t get over the toppings of nuts etc, it was very strong. Perfectly cooked meat, but the rest was not up to my personal taste. Pollo Picante now if there is one thing this restaurant cooks wells, it’s the chicken. The chicken is delicious and this for me was the best dish of the evening. Put a smile on my face and topped everything I tried. Yuca Frita this was cassava wedges and was the first thing I tried and it was a lovely start. Tastes nice, soft on the inside and a lovely crust. Chocolate ice cream tasted like it came out of a tub and didn’t bother me. A nice refreshing end. The atmosphere had a certain ambiance. The food is cooked insight and is brought out when it’s made. You order what you’d like and it arrives sporadically. One of the guys around the table has to wait until we had our 3rd or 4th dish for him to get his. The waiters seemed confused as to what dish was delivered. We had a halal eating member on our table but they twice got told “wait, I have your dish so not sure what you’ve been given” as similar looking dishes were mixed up. I won’t say how it ended. The staff were friendly and nice, always helpful too. All in all, I see the quirky side, the idea for service and the design of the menu but it wasn’t for me, and the rest of the team felt the same way. Nice to have experienced this restaurant but I can’t see myself coming again."

"You pay for the name and location here. Decor really isn’t that impressive and the service was really condescending and poor, very comical outlook considering who was sat at his table. Regardless, pre dinner nibbles came out after starters and there were many starter dishes missing. The majority of the starters were unimpressive, although must be said, the steak tartare was very very good. On to mains. Most of the table, mostly happy, couple complained about blandness. I ordered a wagyu steak, which was very well cooked, but slightly disappointing that the waiter decided to point out the price of the steak two or three times, as if I should reconsider the £100 steak, in case I couldn’t afford it. We paid the included service charge which was £110 on the £750 bill , however retrospectively, service wasn’t worth the price. I paid the bill as a treat to my table, waiter ignore all my guests and only said thank you to me and shook my hand come on!!!!! The food was good but the service experience and customer service really should be thought about."

"Sushiya is nestled between two other much bigger buildings on Dalry Road near Haymarket and if you blink you 'll probably miss it as it 's only around a third of the size of its neighbours. My little sister is somewhat obsessed with all things Japanese, so when she came up to visit last month, she jumped at the chance of eating at an authentic Japanese restaurant. We had Inari and chicken Yakitori for starters (along with a cup of very unremarkable green tea) which were both very nice but perhaps a tad too pricey at what amounted to £3 a mouthful. Fearing the same cost/size ratio from the sushi we opted to order from elsewhere on the menu. I had chicken teriyaki (with a bowl of miso soup) whilst my sister plumped for a bowl of chicken ramen; and by bowl I mean vat that dish was freakin ' huge! Both are fairly staple dishes for a Japanese restaurant and were equally acceptable if not outstanding but what struck me about both (especially when taking into consideration what I said about the size of the starters) is that this place 's portion control is way out of whack the mains were huge and I struggled to finish mine, my sister gave up halfway through. That 's not the worst thing in the world but I can 't help but feel that I would have been happier paying slightly less for a portion I could have comfortably managed. That 's not to sound like I 'm being cheap (besides the non sushi mains a very reasonably priced anyway) it 's just that I 'm begrudged to leave food I 've paid for. As opposed to stole. Obviously. The service was okay and the waitresses were friendly enough but we did wait for around forty five minutes for our main courses to come. As for its facilities, the interior is small but well kept. It just about barely escapes feeling cramped when full but that 's the kind of setting you come to expect from communal eating bars like these. Size then is an obvious limitation for small lunch bars so it proved to be somewhat surprising when customers were continually turned away due to the establishment being full despite the fact that there was an unoccupied reserved table big enough for a party of seven who (I learned from overhearing the waitresses) were already over half an hour late. Surely this isn 't good business sense; I understand that a reservation of seven is certainly better than the prospect of no custom at all but at the same time there needs to be a line drawn where you lose your reservation and it 's your fault. The seven eventually swaggered in with no hint of apology or excuse as to their tardiness. I hated them a little bit. Whinge and moan from me then and it 's certainly not directed at the restaurant itself it 's more because a) I deplore lateness and b) I really want to see little restaurants like this stay open; they 're three a penny in other parts of the world but we genuinely don 't have all too many of them in the UK and it 's poorly behaved customers along with the reluctance to discipline them (i.e. by cancelling their reservation) which threaten their very existence. All in all then, Sushiya proved very acceptable for a Saturday lunch. I 'm not all too sure I 'd go out of my way to go there again, or that the mood would ever strike me to just pop along; but for aficionados of Japanese cuisine, it 's certainly worth a look. The Water Situation: Water served happily and without fuss."

"so I needed a quick pick me up after a ...not so great weekend...so I tapped in sushi into the yelp search engine and it brought me here... I would say every Yo Sushi I have been to are all the same...which is a good thing...staff are very attentive...this helps having a button at your table which signals for them to come over...and the menu is plentiful.. I personally love the sashimi ..so I ordered lots of this at once..and grabbed a grey £5 plate full of different types of salmon ..it is better value of money to get the grey plates because if you order maki, nigri and sashimi it would cost you more than £5... This was washed down with hot sake which tastes better heated ..the sake menu is not extensive..offering only two types...but hey what do you expect from a chain... I personally felt quite comfortable having my solo sushi feast,,because I admit when I go for sushi I am not sociable...to talk would give me less time to stuff my face with maki... Overall a very tidy, good atmosphere place to be....you just have to be careful counting the plates as you go along...as Yo sushi is not the most cheapest of places in comparison to such places as Wasabi....and it can be easy to get carried away.."
"really delicious, healthy Japanese cuisine. the miso suppe is like a hug in a cup. great service and great variety on menu. with one of the dishes too much rice and not enough sauce/meat. and the only other room for improvement is I have always found it super cool in there, so take an additional cardiac. beautiful view of bruntsfield area where you can watch people. we always make ourselves happy and full. can't wait to come back."

"I highly recommend Miyako and will certainly return. I'm not fond of sushi but that was not an issue as the menu had plenty of alternative options. The food was really tasty, good-sized portions and the service warm, friendly and efficient. It's quite a small restaurant so I would recommend booking in advance."
