"We popped into The Boathouse for a coffee to kill some time pre a boat trip to Mount Edgecome we were greeted by a reasonably pleasant character where we reqested a table to sit and enjoy some coffee as we had 45 minutes to wait until boarding a boat, what we thought was plenty of time, WRONG ..... The restaurant was quiet empty but still took 10 minutes for our order to be taken but thought we still had 35 minutes pre boarding, 20 minutes later we were still waiting for 6 drinks, finally 3 coffees came 1 of them cold, we then had to remind them of the 3 teas also ordered where 3 of the party could only drink half of the tea due to time constraints. On payment i aired my concerns over the waiting time to which was replied it wasn 't that long, enjoy the rest of your day absolutely appalling service, returning customers/recommendations count for a high percentage of business if this service/dealing with customer complaints is anything to go by im surprised there is any custom at all...we will not br returning."

"My partner, son, and I come to this restaurant regularly and we always enjoy the great value for money food and tasty drinks. They serve high-quality coffee, not instant stuff, and the staff are fantastic. They always make us feel welcome and seem to know our order before we even say anything. They also give a lot of attention to my 2-year-old son, with high-fives, treats, and jokes that he loves. The portions are large and the prices are cheap. The food and drinks come quickly after ordering and everything is really good. We couldn't ask for anything more."

"The food at this restaurant is delicious and the atmosphere is pleasant. I went on pie night and the Captain Nemo pie was exceptional. I am a fan of fish, but not necessarily of ingredients like prawns that are commonly found in fish pies. However, this pie consisted only of fish, potatoes, and peas, making it the best fish pie I have ever had. It was filled with ample amounts of fish and cooked to perfection."

"The mixed grill at this restaurant is too expensive for the portion size. The lamb chops had an odd flavor and were quite small, with only 2 on the plate. The accompanying chips were very small, more suitable for a child. Overall, the meal was not worth the price paid. Additionally, the separate order of small chips was undercooked and the chicken steak had a rancid taste, making it inedible. I was very dissatisfied with my meal overall."

"I absolutely adore this restaurant! The waiter was incredibly accommodating and all of the staff were so cheerful, smiling, and ready to help. The food may not have been piping hot, but it was still incredibly delicious. The prices were very reasonable and the portion sizes were good - I had no room for an appetizer, but there was plenty of space left for dessert. I will definitely be returning for Sunday dinner."

"On a Friday evening, we were among only a handful of tables, and fortunately, we secured an outdoor table with a view of the beautiful gardens instead of being seated in the large marquee. The food was well-prepared, but I found both my starter and main course to be quite small. The desserts, specifically the Chocolate Mushroom and Edible Flowerpot, were the highlights of the meal—creative and delicious! However, the total bill of just under £200 for two people (including wine) felt a bit steep considering the portion sizes. That said, the service was excellent."
