"We visited Yoku on a Sunday evening for a meal after a long day's walking. We were not disappointed! We were met warmly upon walking in and were looked after really well by the team. We enjoyed sake cocktails, wine and beer and an array of super fresh, tasty Japanese food. We chose the pumpkin croquettes, prawn tempura, various sushi rolls and chicken katsu donburi and all were really delicious. The prices were very reasonable for a Japanese restaurant (they had a Korean page on the menu too) and the restaurant had lovely lighting and music playing. We loved Yoku and will definitely be back!"

"27/03/15 My first visit to The Alice. As you drive into the village of Nun Monkton, you absorb your beautiful surroundings of this quaint little village and look in awe at the green and the very tall may pole. This small village boasts the largest may pole and green in the whole of the UK. Upon arriving at the pub, I could see the chickens and vegatables growing in their gardens, this, always a pleasing sight to be had. The Alice boasts an array of outdoor seating at the front and in the secluded, manicured gardens to the rear too. The pub is beautifully decorated with a small, intimate dining room, a bar area for more casual dining and drinks and a large room, perfect for larger parties. Rebecca, the Assistant manager chats to me about their up and coming plans for the premises and the option to have drinks receptions in the barn for larger parties, served around a warming fire pit in the colder months. I order a gin and tonic, served with rosemary and cucumber, a delightful and refreshing special and begin choosing food to order. I view the creative menu and opt for goats cheese croquettes, walnut, apple and beetroot to start. The flavours blend delightfully and offer an explosion of taste jointly, for main the Chicken tagliatelle which is served in a rich, creamy sauce and made with fresh paster, seasoned perfectly. Next time, I will save space for dessert, but this time, there was simply no room left! Beautiful food at reasonable prices and with something for everyone."

"Went last night with 4 people to celebrate my birthday. We ordered food to share (pizzas, loaded nachos and meat platters) and it was all lovely. Well presented, tasty and left us all feeling full and content! The staff who served us were friendly, polite and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again to try something else off the menu."

"Fancied a little drive in Suffolk, so decided to book Sunday Lunch , phoned and pre booked , they could not fit us in at 12.30pm , so booked for 1.30pm, when we got there was just waiting for someone to seat us , the staff were just standing there, finally went over and then got seated, considering they changed the time because said busy, there were only one other party of four there. Took ages to get a drink first, the waitress came over , we ordered the Tempara prawns to start, was not home made could tell the prawn inside was just mush, the sauce it came with was disgusting, ordered the Roast Beef for main, the potatoes were deep fried, I do like my beef Medium/Rare, but so rare thought it was going to walk off plate. When the landlady came over to clear plates, asked me why we had left our food, did tell her but don’t think she was really listening, At least they gave us a discount , only paid for drinks and starters. Such a shame as could be a really nice pub."

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude for allowing us to host our wedding reception at the Thai Corner. We cannot even begin to describe how amazing everything was. The tables, decorations, and ambiance were simply stunning. And the food? Absolutely delicious - every single bite was devoured! You truly exceeded our expectations and we were left speechless. A simple "thank you" does not suffice to show our appreciation. Both of you are wonderful people whom we are lucky to consider our friends. Special thanks to Charlie Finn for his incredible contributions as well. You all made our wedding day even more memorable and special. With lots of love, Andy and Carmen."

"Sat in the window inside, so perfect view east to Godfrey. Mackerel pate starter and fish and chips main very well done. Service was attentive for our friends who have allergies, all well catered foe. Atlantic pale ale perfect with the F&Chips. Al round a perfect beach cafe. Dietary restrictions: They have a well laid out matrix to back up the menu, but the waiter also knew what was suitable. They offered to modify a dish to suit. Service: Dine in"
"Only reason it wasn't a 5 star is because of a fairly long wait to order our food yet alone have it cooked. Once we had received our food it was delicious and hot and one meal was adapted from the menu to suit our needs which was very good. Big bonus for us is it's dog friendly in the bar and snug and our dog could sit under the table waiting for titbits. Didn't mind the wait but felt they could have taken our order and warned us of a bit of a delay in cooking the food rather than not take our order."

"Although the menu held great promise, the restaurant itself was very basic and lacked ambiance. Despite this, we decided to give it a try. The starters (calamari and duck rillette) were okay, but the main courses were disappointing. The vegetables were overcooked, the hake and haddock fish cake was dry, and the coq au vin was unappetizing. We sent both dishes back and ultimately decided to leave. However, the waitress was fantastic, very helpful and apologetic. The restaurant ended up not charging us for the mains. Hopefully, the poor cooking was just a one-time issue, but the restaurant could definitely benefit from hiring an interior designer."

"I have been to the restaurant many, many times, I may even have another review on here, because the food has always been amazing, sadly, their behaviour the other Sunday means I will never set foot in their restaurant again and will advise others not to. I'm disabled and have an assistant dog. For the many times I have been to this restaurant over the last 10 years, my assistance dog has always been with me and I've never had an issue. Recently, they changed their tables and now there are no table cloths for my assistance dog to hide under. On Sunday I attended with my assistance dog and my assistance dog in training, who will be replacing my assistance dog shortly and who is learning to fit into my life, so gaining experience. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and we were welcomed. We picked a table out of the way on the right side of the restaurant that is split in two with a thick wall. Both my assistance dog and assistance dog in training were labelled as such and sat quietly beside me and made no noise and no fuss the entire time. We ordered drinks and food, all of which was lovely, we were coming to the end of the main course and were considering coffee and dessert when the waitress informed us that they had had a complaint from a another customer about the dogs and we had to stop enjoying our meal and leave. And not JUST leave, but leave via the back door and alley. Like we were some dirty little secret they didn't want anyone to know. I pointed out that they were not legally (Equity Act 2020) allowed to throw out my assistance dog, but they just shrugged clearly breaking the law is fine by them. While my assistance dog in training is NOT covered by the law, we would not have come in in the first place if his presence had not been permitted from the start, but we were welcomed in. The worst part of it was that there was NOBODY in our section of the restaurant so some nasty piece of work went out of their way to make my life more difficult and unpleasant and the restaurant made the choice that they would rather insult the disabled person and break the law than deal with the other customer. This entire unpleasant event has deeply upset me and made me feel like the staff at this restaurant have no understanding of the law, disability or common decency."

"I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent, the beer was great, and the service was top-notch. Plus, the value for money is impressive. I would estimate the average cost per person to be between £20 and £30. Overall, I would rate the food and service a perfect 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere a solid 4 out of 5. Highly recommended!"

"A little bit run down in places but that seems to be Wookey Hole in general. Popped in for a cup of tea after some caving and the service was great. They weren't serving food at the time but as we had mentioned cake, they were very accommodating and happy to serve us something from the pudding menu. Good selection of old games to play while sitting there. (Probably for kids but we are big kids, and who doesn't love Connect 4)"

"It's been a while since I've been to a pub/restaurant where I felt completely at ease inviting myself. The meal was excellent, and the menu was diverse. Everyone was very friendly—it's definitely one of the best places I've been to. I will definitely return. We had the Sunday dinner, but honestly, the menu was so good that I could have picked anything."

"I 've been to this pub several times since it has got new ownership and each time I have left severely disappointed. I have given it a fair try each time but rude staff, refusal to serve you unless you are a regular who are allowed to stay for lock ins whilst everyone else is turfed out before the pub closes and charging on entry for live music for a local pub is obscene. The attitude of staff when even just asking for water was appalling, and needs a severe shake up. Cant comment on the food, but with wetherspoons down the road I doubt many are eating there anyways. Won 't be going back anytime soon."

"4yrs ago someone suggested Art of Siam for birthday venue. It was excellent for the food, the prices and thr cosy decor. For the past year we have been having lunch regularly and my only niggle is why is it not closer to home? It must be the best restaurant for miles, especially if you enjoy mouthwatering Thai food served in a pleasant friendly atmosphere by lovely people who cannot help but please. A 2 course lunch for under a tenner is not to be missed and, having sampled the more than adequate choices, I cannot fault any. I believe in praise where due and will recommend any place that deserves it deserve. This place does. I 've also posted a couple of scathing reports about pub restaurants that should be avoided especially on Sunday when they run out of veg !! and serve concrete pastry. Its local, scenic, recently refurbished and handy for walking. Its on Tripadvisor so read and decide for yourself. Honest comments are valuable."

"Visited for lunch on a Thursday Ordered Fish and Chips and Scampi The food was delicious service was excellent It was a lovely sunny day made the most of it by sitting outside. Not too busy but it's popular so you may have to either eat inside or have a slight wait for a table outside (weather permitting). You park up the hill. If you have less able people you can always drive into the entrance to the car park, go down the hill and drop off pick them up at the back of the Ferry Boat (try to avoid going down the road to the front of the Inn it's a very narrow road and quite a drive to a turning point) Always an excellent place to visit. Highly recommended!"

"I’ve been to this establishment twice now. I am new to the area and decided to search for a local Thai near me, I stumbled across The King Thai and I am glad with the decision I made. The service was very good, and the restaurant was immaculately clean. There is a good choice of local drinks on the menu as well as good food options not a huge amount on the menu however to my mind this is a good sign that everything is cooked fresh I must also add they do not cook with any MSG or preservatives. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wether you are looking for a quick lunch or an evening meal. Will definitely be a regular customer here now.
