"immersed on a Friday afternoon, in the middle of the beautiful landscape. despite no reservation and the place where we were busy, we received a warm greeting and found a beautiful little table in the historic bar. whitebait were exceptional and the squirting and cloby chips with mudy heaps were just the ding for a cool earlyling day. pints by london pride sealed the deal. a great sound, welcoming people and a cook that knows what they do. totally recommended."

What a nice pub! Good food and well kept beer. A very pleasant lunch outdoors with a view across the green. It's a quiet village and very pleasant.

One of the waitresses who served me, and my friends was very polite and helpful. She was willing to answer any questions that we had to ask and her food recommendation was spot on as the fish and chips was to die for. Not relevant...

Beautiful setting, food friends, peaceful pub. Pub has large car park. Photos of Polstead. We had steak with new.potatoes, salad, walnuts, blues cheese stilton and fish cakes and battered prawns for starters. Very friendly start. Great selection of wine, beer, gin, spirits, cider.

on the way back to the campsite polstead with my wife and friends saved a drink. beautiful village around this jewel of a pubs. excellent service from the rental company. I had another ****. must also say that the village community shop has to be seen, many fresh local products to be reasonable. highly recommended.

Visited here during our 5 mile walk from nearby Stoke-by-Nayland. Lovely quaint pub set on the village green Were greeted by the owner upon entering the bar and they had a good choice of locally brewed beers including their own ‘**** Inn’ ale. We didn’t eat here but I did sneak a look at the menu and it was reasonably priced. Would return here if in the area

An absolute Gem finding! From start to finish, Amazing! As soon as we entered we were warmly greeted, drinks were very good, Roast dinners were very tasty, as far as one of the best home cooked Roast dinners we have had to date! Deserts!!! Were also amazing, look at the size of it!!!! We will definitely be returning, thank you so much, kind regards Clay and Clare

We stayed with family at a local campsite and decided to book a table for 4 on Saturday night. It was quiet, as the weather had turned bad. But the food was fantastic! We each had the serloin steaks and they were cooked superbly! The chunky chips were 'proper ' pub chips and were done to perfection. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and made the evening one to make sure that we do again when we visit once more in the near future!
