"Went with friends for dinner and as we had arrived early and it was a lovely evening decided to seat outside and have a drink and a cigarette. We were told in no uncertain terms the only area to smoke was standing by a barrel...at the back door where people where going into the pub; staff walked past with food and it was under the kitchen window this spoilt our first first experience and took the edge of a what should have been an enjoyable evening with non smoking friends. The pub does however allow dogs inside and if I had known this would not have eaten there. when we came out after our meal a gentleman was sat at a table smoking and this was pointed out to a staff member he claimed he hadn't noticed. Unfortunately not somewhere I would choose to come to again even though the gardens are beautiful and the food was very good."

Small pub restaurant serving local British freshly cooked cuisine, based on the outskirts of spalding definitely worth a visit. Staff team were excellant and food was very good.

Lunch in the garden on a sunny Saturday afternoon was very pleasant. Good food, nice setting. There are many pubs in the area that have decent outside dining so this is a real asset.

beautiful appetizers and desserts, but the main dishes were simple and overpriced. nothing exciting on the menu and very expensive for something we could have done better at home. very disappointing.

here with friends. please we booked as the restaurant was busy. restaurant area is very nice with beautiful decor and ambiente. prosperous service of very pleasant employees. took our order and remembered how busy it was eating, no time needed to get there. we had three walks to the roast. excellent price-performance ratio with a full plate at each cursor.

Called in for a light bite at lunchtime. Very nice pub, and very nice food, even though we all only had starters, but they were all very tasty. The pub is dog friendly and seemed very welcoming. Glad we called in and would recommend it....The one thing is, that you are still called chequers of Weston, and it was really hard to find you on here as it is under ok catering!

Having moved to the area 9 months ago we have been to the Chequers at Weston 3 times. First time with my 23yr old son whos a fussy eater so they went out of there way to make him something he would eat , once...with my parents and once as a couple. All three times the food was nicely cooked and the service very pleasant. Dogs are welcome in the bar but we havent been brave enough to take our two barkey arses there yet. Highly recommend this place

We went with a group of friends with whom we lunch regularly. The pun has a large pleasant looking garden.and the dining room was nicely decorated. Staff were very pleasant. The food received mixed reviews. I ordered tempura vegetables with spicy noodles and was brought...tempura prawns, but thought might as well get on with it. After a few minutes, the waiter came to apologised and offered to get some vegetables but it was not worth it. My wife had the pie of the day steak and ale I think but said it was very dry. Puddings we’re reported to be good.

this was a trip to celebrate a golden wedding anniversary, a lunch with friends. the place was very pleasant and the service was good. Unfortunately, eating was abandoned by so hard-hearted that we couldn't eat it. the apricot sauce was good and. the sweet was excellent. I can't get the blue cheese crumbs as it seemed to be missing. No one has checked whether the food is in order, but when the tellers were clarified, we pointed out that we could not eat the meat. “I say the kitchen” was the answer that was apparently not affected. we ordered an eton chaos, but it was so dry! only a strawberry cut small, some other strange berries, and 3 tiny dobs of cream! mostly hard medium. when the bill w...

"We've been here a couple of times before and it's been great, however our latest visit was not a great experience. Portions were small, presentation wasn't anything special, looked like meals I could of in nocked up myself as a quick tea at home, nothing special at all, certainly didn't look like a restaurant dining experience. Also, never come across a restaurant that stipulates on the menu if you want steak they need 48 hours notice! And even if they do, they should tell people when they book in as we had 2 of our party very disappointed on the night. The whole dining experience was also ruined by a group of loud, drunk locals sitting in the dining area and talking and swearing at the top of their voices so we couldn't even hear ourselves having a conversation. If people have paid for a dining experience no matter how bad that was, they should not have to put up with a table full of loud, swearing locals who were just there for the drink, keep the two things separate! Really dark and dingy in the restaurant, we struggled to read the menu due to how badly lit it was. The waitress started the evening by telling us what wasn't available off the menu, which in itself seemed odd at the beginning of the weekend to of already run out of so much. Needless to say this one bad experience overshadows previous good ones, it looks like the place has gone down hill, we won't be back! Must say though this is by no means a reflection of the staff they were lovely, it's on the owners!"
