"it is early days for this French Vietnamese hybrid directly at the leicester square. while eating is stunning, the prices are a little eye-watered and on our visit it seemed much more coworkers than customers who talked to each other about the rather small restaurant room, seemingly oblivious, how unpleasant this made the very few paying diners feel. near the hotel reception is also a bit strange that they bring the occasional tourist through the restaurant with their luggage or to london over the restaurant doors. fix the lack of ambiente and focus on giving customers a total experience that corresponds to food quality (and high end prices) and they should be on a winner."

"We were really disappointed to be greeted and told they were short staffed and not a lot of food was available. I feel we should have been made aware of this before we attended. The things we wanted to eat were not available, there was no rice! A cheap and simple ingredient. We all had to have burgers as not much else to offer but they did taste very good. The staff were attentive but run ragged. I’m glad we had the app to order the food and drinks. The bar area was filled with dirty glasses and no time to keep on top of them to clean as they made drinks for all. It was a bit on the noisy side for us too."

"I went to the slug and lettuce in Staines on Friday night for the bottomless brunch. Jack and the twins gave us fantastic service. They kept our drinks topped up, checked on us regularly and were so fun and friendly. The food was very good and at such good value I’m looking forward to my next night out there. 5* guys thank you very much. "Almost refused us as they had no confirmation of our reservation. We arrived early, 12.05, only one table occupied and staff said there was not going to be a table free until 2.15. After showing my confirmation from my phone he said we could sit anywhere! We ordered, ate and left by 1.00, still only 4 tables occupied..... very poor , first visit, probably will not return . Food was OK.."

"After a fantastic afternoon and evening spent with friends at the Hanover Tap Edinburgh our group of 14 were eventually left with just 4 of us. We tried to buy another drink to say goodbye to each other but the young lady behind the bar refused to serve us. I asked her why and she said that we were all drunk. I asked if one of us had misbehaved or acted out of order she said no but that as we had been there several hours we must be drunk and she would not serve us. We are all in our late 50’s our conduct at the pub was exemplary but she still wouldn’t serve us. As a group we had spent in excess of £1000 on food and drinks but she was having none of it. Shame to end a fantastic day that way. The young manager should rethink how she treats good customers. We as a group will not be returning to the Hanover Tap Edinburgh"

We had to approach a staff member for assistance, but he never came back, so we had to find another staff member to show us to our seats. The food was subpar and some items on the menu were not available. However, the cocktails were the only standout. It was odd that there was no table service, forcing customers to go to the bar to place their orders, which was inconvenient."

"fantastic service and quality authentic eating! quickly messed up, although it went to foot on a Friday night, and both drinks and food orders were taken quickly. the food came and was absolutely delicious; very authentic Italian aromas and generous portions. the staff was fabulous and very friendly. the restaurant was clean and tidy and good for the guests. a very good culinary experience, and we will certainly return when in portsmouth!"

"Been to slug and lettuce before and had no issues. However, have to say I’m shocked at the service I received last night. First off we got there around 20:40 ordered drinks at 20:50. About twenty minutes later still no drinks a worker comes round saying the apps down and to order at the bar. We all went up still not got the drinks we ordered off the app and had to wait half an hour more for these. When I complained didn’t get an apology they gave us 3/4 drinks we ordered, my friend still missing a drink, had to go back up again and ask. When I went up the 2nd time they told me it’s not on their system so it wasn’t ordered. When I came back to the table on the app it said it had gone through so I had to go up for the 3rd time baring in mind at this point we had been here about an hour and still not had a drink. Spoke to the same girl again for the third time and said if you don’t have an email confirmation it’s not gone through. Basically explained look over been here an hour had to deal with all this I’m not impressed but thanks for the help. Go back to the table again and guess what! got an email confirmation for the drink we Apprently “haven’t ordered”. Spoke to the manager this time who told me to calm down when I raised my voice asking for the drink I have clearly ordered. Finally after about an hour and 20 minutes got all the drinks. Never got an apology and didn’t seem to emphasise with customers at all. A friend of mine who went the week previously said the same thing happened to him had to wait over and hour for drinks and staff didn’t even apologise or offer help. In conclusion I wouldn’t recommend on a night out unless you’re willing to wait around an hour to receive a “raving disaster”."

"We visited on Sunday 27th Feb. The staff was really helpful and friendly. I went up to order at the bar and I have to say that it is the stickiest place I've ever visited. The bar was sticky, menus were sticky. I'm not sure what it was but it was on our table menus too. The food was really good. It took a little while so it wasn't really hot. I had Smothered Chicken and my partner had the Rump Steak. My chicken was nice but the peas and chips were cold. We had a bottle of wine we hadn't finished and a really nice boy who had brought us our food allowed us to take it outside to finish it up in the night air. This is a really nice restaurant with good food, a good atmosphere and great staff. Thank you!"

"THe slug has always been the best place for a bottomless brunch for me. Not the case on my last visit. Table of 2 we got overlooked. Felt in the way and like a nusance, did complain to the managers they said they where short staffed, but the bar staff where doing nothing laughing and joking while the brunch staff run off there feet. The price has increased but the service level has decreased. dont think i will be coming again ! lots of competition out there !"

"Aweful experience...i reserved table 10 in advance...on arrival said table was occupied. The hostess invited us to sit any where...which defeats the purpose of reserving the table. The hostess indicated you had to order using the app....which we proceeded to do...after several attemps to pay via the app...we had to pay at the bar. The waiter did not take or cash the complete order....the service was sluggish ...the milk for tea)was spilled on reaching the table...see photo..it was never cleaned...the food was pitiful...not value for money...."

"We popped in here for lunch on a Wednesday and there was lots of empty tables. The staff were quite pleasant, though not many behind the bar at that time, but was not busy. My first choice of soft drink could not be found so I opted for ginger ale. Food was really lovely and arrived quickly. I ordered side dishes and they were an ok size and one came with on a lovely, fresh bed of lettuce. The atmosphere was fairly ambient and not noisy at all. Would definately go there again. I liked the lips that were on the walls"

"Popped in here, on our way back to hotel, for a drink and something to eat. The place is massive, so no issue getting a table, we even managed to get one overlooking the river. All cocktails currently available on for offer, which...is excellent value. Good selection of beer, wine and gin too. We opted for one of their sharing platters and at it was certainly value for money as it was massive, very tasty and enjoyable, although we couldn't finish it. All staff, we encountered were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and return."
