"Me and my friends have been coming to Desco lounge for a while now but I can truthfully say this will be the last time that we visit. We ordered 2 lounge breakfast, whilst the drinks arrived promptly we had to wait a fair while for our food. When it arrived the bacon was burnt and the beans were cold. I went to the bar to speak to one of the servers as none had bothered to come and check back our food and were clearly far too busy on a Monday afternoon to accommodate us. The portion size difference was crazy aswell considering we had the same meal! We wanted to order some extra beans and toast so we asked one of the ‘waitresses’ if we could order with her, she answered very abruptly we don’t do table service. And were told we have to go to the bar or order online. It was as if we were being a pain asking her these questions. As we were waiting for our fresh beans our food was getting cold so once it had been 10 minutes since we had ordered the beans I asked the same server how long they would be she replied ‘you haven’t been waiting 10 minutes’ so I showed her the proof on my order. She walked away as I was still speaking with her and a few minutes later returned with my food. I wouldn’t even understand this behaviour if she was new as she was so rude to us, as if she forgot we were the guests. The worst thing is when you order online it asks if you would like to tip! The cheek of it!"

The 606 Club

"The Club is one of London's oldest and finest Jazz clubs. It is discreetly tucked away in a minor street between the river Thames and the western end of the Kings Road. You will not necessarily find international or superstar Jazz outfits there but, on a good night, the gigs are fine. You can be a member of the club but non-members are welcome, too.Due to licensing restrictions, alcohol is served to non-members only with meals. During the week (Monday-Thursday), non-members can come down for soft drinks, if there is spare capacity. Weekend nights are full and one can be admitted as a non-member only if coming in for dinner. There is a music charge of a head Monday-Thursday, Friday and Saturday and on Sunday. This is added to the dining bill. Food is Bistrot-like and is normally a courses affaire. You have a choice of about varied starters, main courses and three deserts. With music and service, expect to pay about per person. Booking is an absolute must on weekend nights.I very much like this place for its cosiness and civilised atmosphere (spectators are expected to be quite whilst the band is playing). If you live in the area and are looking to chill out to jazz in an intimate atmosphere, whilst eating, this is THE place to be in. If you are in nice company, you can always go for a walk along the nearby Thames or hit Fulham Road's or Kings Road's clubs/bars for some extra-time boozing and action, afterwards. One thing, though: unfortunately, like many Jazz clubs, this is a smoking venue. However, the place is well air-conditioned."

"Went as a group of 4 for an evening meal which ended up being 3 courses each. Wasn't too busy inside and we had reserved a table anyway although despite saying our name and that we were a 4 (2 yet to arrive), staff repeatedly mentioned someone else's name and that they were a 2??? Got it sorted eventually. Prezzo accepts the Taste card, if you have one, and there were no issues caused by us using this. No outside seating available which was appropriate as it was freezing cold. Looks like they do have this option when the weather is better. Place looked quite clean and well maintained. Service was pretty good most of the time. We had a lot of attention at the beginning and then towards the end but it was in the middle when our food had arrived that glasses went empty and unnoticed. Prices are perfectly reasonable and the portion sizes were as expected. Food was tasty and hot. The vegetarian in our group was initially brought a meat pizza because of staff error and so had to wait for a fresh one to be cooked while everyone else ate. I ordered a Pepsi at one point and instead of getting that, another one of the group was brought a Pepsi Max which she didn't order. Not the end of the world as I just drank that instead, but could be a bigger issue for some. Also they had run out of some desserts that we wanted. So that was a shame. No parking available to due to location on the high street but plenty of paid and sometimes free parking around. Would go again without too much hesitation."

"The Zetter Hotel Clerkenwell review, by Flavour Venue Search The Flavour Venue Search summer research trip gave us an opportunity to check out some great new venues and revisit some old favourites. We made time for a stay at the beautiful Zetter Hotel Clerkenwell. In addition to housing stylish bedrooms and unique event spaces, this boutique hotel also has a special place in our hearts because we spent our wedding night at The Zetter a decade ago. We’re pleased to report the venue is just as magical as we remembered, possibly even more so. The Zetter Hotel Clerkenwell is found just a short walk from Farringdon station, offering excellent access to all of London and further afield via train, underground and the super-fast Elizabeth line. This charming neighbourhood is a design haven, and home to many great restaurants and bars. The Zetter Hotel, and the adjacent Zetter Townhouse contain 72 ultra-stylish and well-equipped bedrooms collectively. We were fortunate enough to stay in a magnificent Rooftop Suite, which was a real treat. In addition to tasteful styling, a gigantic comfortable bed, and modern appliances, we had our own outdoor roof terrace complete with a bathtub! All rooms feature workstations, REN products and Hypnos mattresses. Whether you’re a business traveller, shopper or sightseer, The Zetter Hotel Clerkenwell offers all you’ll need for a delightful stay. We’ve placed plenty of events at the Zetter Townhouse, which is only a few seconds walk from the main hotel. This Georgian townhouse contains a selection of uniquely quirky and intricately decorated spaces, which offer the pleasing aesthetics and versatility needed for a variety of memorable events. Wilhelmina’s lounge is a sumptuously decorated space in which to sip award winning cocktails. Guests can enjoy some of London’s finest private dining in the intimately opulent Dining Room. The larger Games Room lends itself to bigger events, and all spaces can be hired collectively for meetings, conferencing, and lavish celebrations. Best of all, the venue is licensed for civil ceremonies, so couples and their guests can experience a magically special wedding day under one roof. Getting to revisit the Zetter Hotel and Townhouse reminded us of the charm, elegance, and beauty of these unique venues. All staff were friendly and helpful, food and drinks were of a high quality, and the bedrooms and event spaces were stylish, striking, and spectacular. We’re proud to include these excellent venues as part of the Flavour Venue Search portfolio. If you’re interested in group bookings, meetings, weddings, private dining, and corporate events at the Zetter venues, please get in touch."

Primitivo Bar & Eatery

"Primitivo Bar Eatery in Birmingham’s Colmore Business District celebrate their Anniversary this week. Coincidentally, its also me and my wife's Anniversary this week. So where better to enjoy lunch in the sun. The weather was incredible, a pavement table was available and...Rishi Sunak was footing of the bill up to a maximum of per person. If there was a fruit machine in the bar, it would be the equivalent of scoring three big ticks followed by an endless waterfall of coins. Primitivo reopened two weeks ago with a full array of safety precautions; foot operated sanitizers, protective screens, a one way system and a food menu allowing reduced numbers of staff in the kitchen. There’s even single visitor loos on hand so no more taking your friend with you. There’s even a new South American beer, Modelo for those who want to avoid the C word. I opted for Sparkling Water, with temperatures north of degrees centigrade, it went down like Champagne. I was in a Glasgow Wetherspoons last week and ordered Haddock and Chips. I’m not saying it was intimidating but even the fish ran out. Back in Brum, Primitivo are thankfully more on the ball with stock levels. Despite half a century and at least hours of unwrapping fish and chips, I can’t claim to be an expert but this was, as my daughter would say, ‘fire.’ For readers above the age of the Haddock and Chips; beer battered haddock, hand cut chips, mushy peas and tart sauce is a very good thing. Anji chose the Thai Fishcake; delicately spiced with chilli and lime, fresh spring onion salad and sweet chilli dressing with a side of Fries (V) She kindly offered me some and it was awesome. The kitchen boasts local gastronomic heritage, Chef Murray is non other than local legend Paul Fulford’s son. It’s like going to Guitar Guitar on Hagley Road and buying a Fender from Eric Clapton’s kid. Both meals, a side and soft drinks allowed us to take full advantage of Rishi’s Eat Out to Help Out cap of per person. Eat Out to Help Out runs until the end of August. It’s good to see Government use Nudge Economics to encourage those who can, venture out and support the hospitality industry. VAT has also been temporarily reduced from to We learned this morning we are officially in recession. Supporting local independent businesses is the fast track to get our region back into the fast lane. The money spent in venues such as Primitivo fund the wages of it’s staff and are reinvested locally. Thank you to all the team for a fabulous experience. Congratulations Prit on your Anniversary."
