"So we came for my husbands birthday. First of all due to a local taxi company letting us down, we didn't arrive until 7.20 and our table of 7 was booked for 7pm so upon profusely apologising because we were late arriving, it was absolutely no trouble getting seated by the staff. Secondly the restaurant was smaller than I expected but again all the staff were very accommodating for us as a party. We were served for drinks pretty much straight away as soon as we sat down which I liked. As we all know when you are attending as a larger party at a restaurant it takes a little while for everyone to decide what they are having but again the staff were very patient and gave us plenty of time to decide on our menu choices (I hate being rushed for anything). Starting with the food, my husband is a chef and this was his first day off in 12 days and it's very rare for us to eat out and for him to have not a single complaint or grumble about the food, which he didn't! Service was prompt and in an ideal amount of time between each course. The price of the whole bill, considering 3 bottles of wine, 3 glasses of Pepsi, 4 beers and a jug of water, 6 starters, 2 garlic breads and 7 main meals was very reasonable! The food exceeded the expectation and the service was excellent, 1000% recommend and 1000% will attend again!"

"I was also part of the party of 8 last night but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was very nice and the steak was cooked just right. The young waitress was the perfect host and went out of her way to describe the dishes and the choice of drinks on offer. She was a true professional and the owner should be proud of her. I guess it's all down to personal taste."

"Finding this place after a long day of cycling was a real jackpot! We weren't aware they had a separate vegan menu, so I simply asked to omit some ingredients on our pizza for sweetness. A very friendly staff member informed me that as a vegan, I could have it made exactly as I requested, plus add vegan cheese or even choose from their vegan menu! They prepared it just as I asked, and I wasn't charged anything extra. In fact, I ended up getting a discount and a key ring as well. We decided to take the pizzas to the beach because we didn't feel comfortable sitting inside after our day out. The place had a cozy vibe, and I really hope to return someday."

"This was my first visit in some time. In the past, I felt that the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food. However, it seems that the quality has improved significantly and now matches the prices. I found the prices to be on par with other Italian restaurants I have visited recently. The restaurant now offers generously-sized pizzas cooked in a proper oven, and the pasta is clearly freshly made. The drinks are reasonably priced, even cheaper than my local pub. The service and atmosphere were excellent. I recommend booking in advance, as the restaurant was full on Wednesday night."

"Hard to rate this place. We had a good time at New Year's eve with a cosy and lively atmosphere with some music. Set menu for both for two plus a couple of glasses of wine/prosecco and it came to nearly 200 pounds. It's obviously not normally this expensive but not far off it. Food was not Italian but more European. It was good and well cooked, but portions a bit small for the price. Would I go back or recommend it? Sorry, no. Not for me. I am sure others would and do enjoy though so don't let me stop you. For me, I rather travel a bit further and go to more genuine Italian restaurants. "The food was fresh and delicious and, in our party of 12, everyone commented on the generous portion sizes. The mixed grill was a mountain of food and my boyfriend was even full after the salmon which is saying something! I enjoyed the vegetarian half moon pizza but the calzone part was more like a fourth than half. It was very clean and service friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday afternoon until ridiculously loud music from the upstairs section started and we had to shout at each other over our meals to try and have conversations. We were there to celebrate and catch up, not attend a karaoke concert. Vegetarian options: There were appetising vegetarian options in most sections on the menu. Parking: Knowsley car parks are free and there are two within a 5 minute walk. Although the multistorey one on Lathom St felt like going into a disaster zone. Our waiter said we could have parked in spaces behind the restaurant but we never checked those out. Wheelchair accessibility: Toilets were upstairs."

"I 've briefly been in Rome and enjoyed an excellent 'Spaghetti Gambas ', little did I think such a fine example of Italian cuisine be defeated by a restaurant in Arbroath. At Azzuro myself, my Mother an Uncle 'Big ' Davey had an Italian feast that perhaps trumped all others before it. The place is very old school, reminiscent of the restaurant Gene Hunt and gang hung-out in 80s set 'Ashes to Ashes ' and I mean that as a compliment. No alcohol license, but a BYOB where corkage is applied with the corner shop ten yards away particularly handy for this. Food is tremendous and all made in house, my lobster ravioli was immense and the auld dear 's Spaghetti Gambas (King Prawns) was vastly superior to its Roman equivalent. Uncle Davey 's tagliatelle wi ' meatballs looked excellent too. The chef 's real talent lies in sauce, the creamy tomato one covering my ravioli was rich and tasty without overpowering the subtle flavour of the filling. Service is fantastic too, with owner Roberto being the most genial host and his waiter polite and courteous. My Uncle is somewhat of a regular since retiring to a caravan on the outskirts and Roberto treats him wonderfully, as I 'm sure all returning costumers are. His complimentary limoncello is a lovely final touch to an amazing evening. Only open Friday Saturday 4-10, booking required to avoid disappointment..."

"I have been Italy many times. There is no relevance between this foods and Italian foods. Italian foods are really simple and tasty. I dont know how they prepared foods with such a bad taste. Every dish comes with lettuce,piece of tomato and cucumber. I never seen these presentation in Italian restaurant. Our service was not good. We ordered wine, he has bad attitute when we ordered. "The overall experience at this restaurant was fantastic until we reached the dessert course. After being asked if we wanted dessert and given menus, the staff seemed to ignore us as they walked back and forth to the kitchen. The same waitress who initially asked us about dessert walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us. Eventually, we had to ask a different waiter for the bill, paid, and left. The food was delicious, but some staff members appeared disinterested as the evening quieted down. I would consider returning in the future, but not anytime soon."
