"We’ve visited La Passione several times, but this was our first experience since the management change and the new name, Amici. They accepted our La Passione gift vouchers, which was great. The food was delicious, and the pizzas were better cooked than during our previous visits to La Passione. The service was more attentive as well. The only downside was that it took quite a while for our food to arrive. Overall, a nice dine-in experience!"

"Food good when they eventually sort out the correct order. Ordered white wine, came with red not a good start. When we turned up advised no Sunday left, which we did come for, fair enough under circumstances but would not have come if we knew this prior. Starters ok and tasty, main course came not as per the menu, salmon not as mentioned, menus stated white wine and garlic sauce, turned up covered in tomato, not the best for someone who can’t stand taste of tomato. This was rectified although parent finished his by time it was received but not the point, if comes with tomato state this one on the menu. Desert nice but service, well where do we start only 3 tables with people on trying to obtain the bill so we can leave, can not get any service, please what would it be like when it is busy. Under the current circumstances it really is not good especially when they are talking right beside you, 3 staff only 1 working, very disappointing, will take a lot to come back her, sport to say"

"The overall experience at this restaurant was fantastic until we reached the dessert course. After being asked if we wanted dessert and given menus, the staff seemed to ignore us as they walked back and forth to the kitchen. The same waitress who initially asked us about dessert walked past us multiple times without acknowledging us. Eventually, we had to ask a different waiter for the bill, paid, and left. The food was delicious, but some staff members appeared disinterested as the evening quieted down. I would consider returning in the future, but not anytime soon."

"We chose the Bolton Arms for our Sunday lunch as we were staying in nearby Carperby and had heard it was good. There's another review link on their website which raves about the food. So there was a lot to live up to and it didn't fail. The 2 children's meals were huge and very reasonably priced. Meatballs and spaghetti plus Chicken gougons, fries and peas. Two adults chose pork, one beef and one ham roast dinners. Each came with Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy. Separately, cauliflower cheese, creamy leeks and brocoli. Plenty to go round everyone. The meats were all fabulous. The pork crackling was crisp and tasty. There was only one member of staff front of house initially. The amazing Daisy.. She went serenely from bar to tables and kitchen without panic or fluster as the pub became much busier than they expected. A second waiter appeared later and the chef (owner) was kept busy too. We liked that the menu was purely Roast dinners (12 2.30) and saved us any choice dilemmas. The full menu is available from 5.30 None of us had any room to sample the desserts unfortunately. But we left satied and ready for an afternoon nap. Perfect Sunday!"

"Meal Type: Dinner Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delightful, earning a perfect score of 5 out of 5. Each dish was flavorful and expertly prepared. The service was quite good as well, with a rating of 4 out of 5; the staff was attentive and friendly, though there were a few moments where they could have been a bit more prompt. The atmosphere was enjoyable too, also rated at 4 out of 5, providing a cozy and inviting setting for a lovely evening. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a fantastic dining experience!"

"Five of us visited La Strada to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. Both my husband and I had never been there before, but we will definitely return. Even though we were the only guests at noon on a Saturday, the service was impeccable. The food was freshly prepared, beautifully presented, delicious, and served in generous portions. The chef even took the time to write "Happy Birthday" on my husband's plate of sumptuous sirloin steak! If you enjoy Italian cuisine (other options are also available) along with excellent service and a pleasant ambiance, I highly recommend trying La Strada for a delightful dining experience."

"--- **Restaurant Review** Meal Type: Breakfast Price Range: £1–10 Food Rating: ★★★ Service Rating: ★★★ Atmosphere Rating: ★★★ I recently had breakfast at this restaurant. The food was decent, but nothing particularly outstanding. The service was reasonably good, though not exceptional. The atmosphere was pleasant enough, though it didn’t stand out. Overall, it's a solid option for a budget-friendly breakfast. --- Let me know if you need any changes!"

"The prices were quite high—£12.50 for six small prawns on a plate, £17 for a few slices of cold meats, and pasta dishes ranged from £12 to £15. Chicken dishes were priced at £15, while beef dishes went for £20, with wine prices reflecting the typical London rates. Unfortunately, the non-pasta dishes we tried were quite oily, which left two of us feeling uncomfortable afterward. I'm sorry to say that there are better Italian restaurants in the area, and this place does not meet the expectations set by other options."

"This is a delightful pub with a warm atmosphere, featuring an open fire, friendly and cheerful staff, and comfortable seating. The prices are reasonable, and there's an impressive selection of drinks. The Christmas decorations are tastefully done. The food is simple yet excellently prepared, flavorful, and fresh. We tried the spaghetti with meatballs, a toad in the hole, and fish and chips, and we had no complaints except that the pasta sauce was a bit too sweet for our liking. The fish was fresh, and the sausages were very flavorful. With two rounds of mostly soft drinks, our total bill came to just £60 for four people. It made for a wonderful midweek meal, and we will definitely return. The pies look fantastic, the pizzas are stone-baked, and we’re excited to try the traditional desserts on our next visit!"

"The pasta here was fantastic, with plenty of choices available. They also served homemade bread with oil, which was a nice touch. My only complaint was that the dish was quite salty. Additionally, while everything was homemade, including the bread and pasta, the cheese used was just grated Violife. This was a bit disappointing, as I expected vegan mozzarella and hoped for something more artisanal. Despite this, I would definitely come back. Overall, it's a great new addition to the vegan scene!"

"I can see why this place gets such mixed reviews on social media. Food was great good sized portions, nicely presented and sensibly priced. We ordered the boar and bacon burger, fish pie, spaghetti with meatballs, hummous and falafel wrap and everything arrived in reasonable time and tasted fine. The problem is the bizarre waiting between breakfast and lunch service i.e. breakfast finishes at 11.30, lunch doesn't start until 12.30, but you have to arrive early to secure a table since they don't accept reservations (and they also rarely answer the phone even during opening hours so you can't double check timings). We tried to order lunch at 12.24 but the assistant said we would have to wait for 6 minutes, while she took orders from other people behind us. Unfortunately almost everyone wanted lunch and the queue was stretching out of the door. They also run out of a lot of things e.g. Coke, bitter, apple juice and only sell organic lager, which one of my lunch guests informed me was pretty grim. There's something slightly weird about the attitude of the employees. You get the impression the whole set up is to suit the management, not the customers, but that individual staff would put it right if only they dared speak up..."

"We booked a table for 8.30pm. Arrived to see two other tables worth of customers also with reservations waiting outside. We all stood outside being ignored by staff. Finally got inside restaurant to waiting area after around 20 minutes, still one table ahead of us, no apology from staff. They took drinks order and after a further 20 minutes there was still no sign of drinks nor us getting the table nor any sort of acknowledgement or apology from staff that we had a reservation for 40 minutes earlier. In fact they seemed to be ignoring the situation, as by this time 2 further tables of customers with reservations (but no tables) had also come to the restaurant. There was also no sign of any distancing, cleaning, contact tracing etc So we abandoned Lymm Indian after 40 minutes and went to Sahib where we had a lovely meal. So disappointed, wanted to support Lymm Indian but now don’t think I will ever go back."

"I read that this restaurant had a good reputation, so I decided to try the pizza, and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was fantastic! The pork rib was cooked to perfection, with tender, flavorful meat. The pizza was delicious, featuring a soft base and a wonderfully crisp crust. The tiramisu was among the best I've ever had, and I've tried a lot of it while traveling the world. I will definitely return! Additionally, the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making it a great spot for a drink or a meal."

"This used to be a fantastic pizza place with fast delivery but now, two times of ordering, it takes well over an hour for the food to hit the oven. 1st time had to be cancelled and I was left unfed going to work hungry. Food this time around was ordered well in advance of the hour to oven time but still hasn 't arrived I 'm losing will to believe that this fast food place is good enough even for that wait!"

"It 's supposed to be Italian, it 's nothing more than a low rate hotel lounge/bar. Most of the tables crammed in this small space are for 2 people. The attitude of the staff was couldn 't care less, Left us for so long. Unhelpful. We made a request if we could move tables, was told do what you want. Any question we asked about the food, they had no answers. The menu is absent, vague and misleading. We weren 't given enough menu 's. Soup of the day, dessert of the day, cake of the day ask your server (who will have no idea) Sadly the food was excellent in this frustrating chaos. Back to the service, no parmesan or black pepper. We asked for it which caused another issue as the hotel staff had no idea. Other diners had a long wait and we saw other parties give up and leave. Music was on a loop, we heard the same pop/techno song 3 times. Didn 't add to the 'italian ' feel. We were ignored for long periods of time whilst clearing empty tables were a priority. We ordered at the bar in the end where we were lied to saying the kitchen had shut as the chef had left at 8.15pm. (Way before the advertised closing time) The tirimasu had to be 'put together. ' (The tirimasu appeared later and it clearly came out of a box) The only time staff came to us was to ignore the issues and ask repetitive questions which we 'd already answered and they 'd written down. Watch the menu, ice cream is priced by the scoop, the sorbet isn 't. We had one scoop priced at £6.75. A rip off. We came in at 6.30pm and was trying to get out by 8.50pm for a taxi booked to catch a train. We were still fighting to order dessert at 8.25pm. As soon as we got dessert, we asked for the bill, we explained the hurry and we were promised this would be done. We rushed the dessert, one had no cutlery. We had to find the member of staff who had promised us the bill, he was serving other customers at the bar. Trying to pay, the card machine run out of paper. 12 minutes to get back to our hotel for the taxi booking. I thoroughly regret spending precious family time being treated like this. It was stressful."

"I visited today with my two children, who are 5 and 7, and my parents. We’ve visited before and have always sat upstairs near the toddler area, as my youngest is autistic, so it is a lot quieter up there, away from all the coffee/smoothie machines etc. The female owner was happy for us to sit upstairs, as long as we had a minimum spend of £9. When we got upstairs, there was nobody else up there. After about 3 minutes or so, the male owner came upstairs and instead of explaining in a friendly manner, he proceeded to tell us how my children were too old to be up in that area. (This is the same man who has served us upstairs in the past and has never had an issue before today. I explained that I was happy to keep my children away from the toddler area, but that we sit upstairs due to it being quieter. I explained that my Daughter has sensory issues, but he quite clearly didn’t seem to care about this, and proceeded to tell us that we needed to sit downstairs. His was very abrupt, and quite frankly looked at us like we were being a nuisance, when we were nothing but polite in return. After he rolled his eyes and walked off, we decided that we did not want to stay somewhere that we felt unwelcome, so we left. As we left and headed downstairs, we realised the male owner was trying to move us from upstairs, to seat some other people upstairs. These people had children around the same age as my children, so it didn’t really make any sense to me, unless he knew them? There would have been enough room for all of us up there, but for some reason, it seemed to be an issue. As we walked out, I made a point of saying to these people that the man was very rude to us, and one of the ladies waiting to be seated upstairs was very apologetic, even though it was not her fault. We certainly will not be visiting again after this experience."

"Firstly I have to say the food at all sambucas is very good and I have never had a bad experience we had the three course special which is now 7.95 not the price they are advertising online which is 5.95 that is not good advertising for your business, now i understand energy prices and costs are rising but it was very quiet for a Saturday and if you keep putting your prices up that is what happens but on the whole it is still decent value for nice food , now I have to say the place was very dusty and grimy the glass and mirrors are all smeared and greasy looking which is a shame because it's a nice cosy place but as i say it needs a deep clean from top to bottom then I'm sure it will be fine"

"If you're in search of an authentic Italian dining experience, look no further than this hidden gem of a restaurant! The food here is absolutely fantastic. From the pizza to the lasagna, everything is made with fresh, delicious ingredients and cooked to perfection. However, the real standout dish is the tiramisu. It is without a doubt the best I've ever had - creamy, light, and bursting with flavor. I could easily have devoured another serving! The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the service is friendly and attentive. It's clear that the family who owns and operates this place puts their heart and soul into it, and their passion for their cuisine truly shines through in every bite. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in search of authentic Italian food in a warm and inviting setting. It's a true hidden treasure that I can't believe I hadn't discovered sooner. I will definitely be returning for more of that amazing tiramisu!"
